To be fair, that was all CG, although very nice CG.

I think they should really emphasize the freakin production value of this game. Make it like a movie trailer. That would be awesome.

OT: any R&C future commercials out yet?

I honestly liked the flatter lighting more, now everything looks too colorful and dark, and lol at those red fire extinguishers glowing red.

You're right, I'm afraid that Halo 3 already has it wrapped up which gives me mixed feelings. It's a great game and I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the campaign... but some of the graphical issues really bothered me, and I'm just not sure they should be completely overlooked when handing out "game of the year" awards.

Then up the brightness and lower the contrast on your TV. Problem solved! First video was an obviously crappy encode with busted black levels, but the good thing is you will be able to replicate that easily on your TV :-D For the record, second video might be encoded a bit too dark, who know.

Fire extinguishers don't glow red - they reflect light off of them to a wall behind them. That's the Global Illumination / Light transmission trick they have implemented in the game.

Her hair actually does look better to me (both the look and color) now that I look at videos of both builds. Good decision on their part.

I think the Heavenly Sword commercial was near perfect. It conveyed the game's core and looked excellent doing it. I do think that CG is not the way to go though. It's not telling the whole truth. But it seems like most people don't care.

No. I watch wrestling, which is videogame commercial central and it hasn't played yet.

thats what the do in real life... in the screenshot.. they look like they are glowing.. The global illumination is turned up too high... Especially since the Boat is rusting metal.. which naturally absorbs more light than it gives off.. You shouldn't be able to see all that red ... just tone it down a tad bit..

Oh I know, it's probably way too exaggerated compared to what it's naturally like. I'm guessing it's a show-off effect so it's turned to 11, but also the whole game has this exaggerated very colorful style, so that's probably why.

Niether of those have the same lighting. The red reflection would probably be as strong as ND has made it.

Just walked down to the store and saw the shots...one of them makes me think (maybe) you will be playing as Elena some of the time on the back of the jet ski...the explosions look great as well.

I think they are trying to make her come across as smart and self sufficient etc and less of a helpless sexy chic with big tits...they probably just used the mo cap body of the actress--she doesn't have much boobage either.

If there wasn't enough hype for this game already, the jetski's and scuba diving are just icing on the cake. This has officially passed the absurdly high level of hype I had for Warhawk.

To be honest, I have yet to see anything that's a 'miss' in recent real direct feed screens (not video captures, destroyed by compression). This is probably the most consistently impressive and visually well rounded game I've seen yet. And that's before the animation even comes to play.
