what the hell do you do after getting to the slot machine part of this casino? Like I've checked all panels....and just nothing is happening wont let me use the switch either.

The slot machines are rigged, I believe. You need to activate/deactivate some panels (4 of them?)so you can try your luck with that one special slot machine if my memory serves me right.

does that panel that you intially check count as one? if so I got 2...you know where the others are?

There are 4 panels (yellow, red, green and purple) I believe. Unfortunately I don't have a save close to that point so I don't remember exactly where they are. Have you checked for some air ducts?

Sorry If I'm not being helpful

theres a room with a line of slot machines and a giant jackpot spinning thing in the north. There's like three shadows around and steps that lead up at the other end of the room. Go up the steps and in the back of the room you should be able to climb up some ledge and find a panel you can interact with. After you do that go back and hit the switches you found earlier and return to the panel iirc

na, that panel is like a computer panel thingy. find the bottom room in this image: http://toragame.com/persona5/images/area/kajino4.gif

the blue square in the picture of the room is the panel you have to climb up a ledge to get to. after you interact with it, you can then go back and interact the panels similar to the blue panel you're talking about. apparently you just need to hit the green and red terminal and then return to that room.

when you interact with it again you'll hack it or whatever and then interact with the giant jackpot it's connected to to proceed

It's not normal space. It's explained that you're in the other world when you're being shot (except in bad ending 1)

Come on, he says exactly "This is my Persona" in Japanese. Not every line needs to pop with "flavor", and adding "flavor" where it wasn't initially is just less accurate. You can call it google translate-tier if you like, but it does a far better job at conveying the same message as the original line than "wassup persona" does, not to mention it sounds far less forced and unnatural than "wassup".

The new line sounds straight up bad, is nothing like the original line and it's not a change for the sake of paraphrasing to fit the lines in sync with the animation, since his original line would fit perfectly. It's just a change for the sake of a change, and it just adds cringe that didn't need to be there and is bound to take plenty of people out of the moment. It's poor translation and the "google translate" tier line is far more accurate, more befitting of his character, and more faithful to the original script.
I completely agree. I play mostly Japanese version and when I see the localisation I feel like it's not the same games anymore most of the time, far more than it should.

It people are ok with changing the script (unnecessarily), what about removing/adding elements to the gameplay or contents ?

Yeah got to that part now, I'm more confused on how they generated the space though....didn't think that the users could create their own space on demand. I freaking loved the Protag's smug face when he just say back up after Goro left.

They're not generating any space, they're just sending Goro in it thanks to the phone Navi. Since he doesn't know he's on the other side, he just imagines the protagonist shadow without knowing. Futaba helps a lot in the planning of all this but the protagonist has trouble to keep the plan on because of the drugs making is memory back bit by bit. Which makes the narration clever. He's remembering stuff little by little.
The only thing I don't remember is how he got out of the world without noticing.

Alright, Nov-Dec spoilers but
I got all the way to bottom parts of the ship dungeon, and then I took a elevator back up to the beginning part where theres the big locked door, here's my problem...the only other non explored place is a vent that Yusuke complains about so we don't enter and then that big door...yet I can't unlock either...do I just leave the dungeon and some event will happen to let me proceed?

Man.....that calling card is flipping great against Shidou, Futaba is a great member for that whole thing hahaha, btw I seem to have screwed myself out of the true end by completing the cruise dungeon to early =/ owell always the second playthrough.

I expected a quick end via beating Shidou which btw is a cool looking fight at first...but really felt like fighting the Senator dude from metal gear rising but in RPG form. Overall not a bad a boss fight though him getting three rounds is kinda bullshit, anyway seems I was able to have more time to spend clearing the rest of mementoes omw to true end now. Still doing a second playthrough but this time more leisurely since I have my parameters maxed out.

I downloaded some DLC and it appears to have activated as I got some notifications, but I'm not sure where I should be picking it up. Can anyone help me out?

Costumes?

If that's the case you have to check the box next to the TV in your room. Once you do, you can equip them in the EQUIP menu.

Finally beat the game... I'm on my phone right now but I guess I'll post a screenshot later... took me 173 hours. Longest Persona game I've played.

I'm kind of tired right now so I'll write my final thoughts later.

So who are the favorite co-ops character wise.

Hmmm...

From the Phantom Thieves, I guess my favourite co-op would be Yusuke. Except Futaba, the others are okay, although sometimes you go back and forth doing too many things with some of them, like Ann's:
going and see Chiho, accompany her to her photo sessions, go and eat with her; those are too many things.

Outside the group I liked Oda, Mishima, and I particularly liked a lot Shogi girl, What was her name? I know the kanji but the reading was... Hifumi? Unfortunately I couldn't max her coop.

Just finished recently myself also, clocked in at 183 hrs.....that ending not sure if I got the true of not but for once its was satisfying (spoilers)
them being together in the car afterwards leads it open ended for anything else they want to try without being convoluted aka the P3/4 casts having to end up in some event of sorts to spend time together. Also Satanel IS FUCKING AWESOME LOOKING.

Started my second playthrough now and just aiming to get the rest of the coops done, trying it on hard now.

The total playtimes of completed first playthroughs seem to be pretty high. Is it because Persona 5 is that long or is it just because it takes you (the players) more time to read/understand things since it's all in Japanese? I'm really curious to know if P5 is even longer than 3 and 4.

A little bit of A, a little bit of B. It is genuinely much longer than the previous games, but the language barrier will make things longer especially if you look up a lot of unknown words.

I'm at 85 hours in, halfway through the 5th dungeon. That would probably be reduced by like 20% if I was playing the English version.

The game is genuinely longer than P3/P4 I think. One reason for that is the dungeons are longer this time around.

For anyone who's completed P5 and FFXV, got any spoiler free comparisons? Like does P5 blow FFXV out of the water?

I guess I'm sorta interested, too, but they seem like extremely different products. I don't know, they both just seem to strive for different ideas.

For me personally, it's not even comparable. I was very happy with P5, and it's my game of the year without a doubt while I was quite disappointed with FFXV.
They are quite different type of game, even though both are JRPGs. P5 is very traditional, similar to P3/P4 but with evolution. FFXV tries something different, open world and action combat.
In terms of main story P5's story was quite good for me, while FFXV's story was a hot mess.
Music is the only area where they are similar to me. Both games have amazing soundtrack.

It's definitely longer than 3 and 4, though some of the run times I'm seeing here certainly seem to be on the longer end of them. Mine was around 120 hours, and I imagine that'll probably be the average.

Yeah, what raven777 said was spot on, FFXV is far more experimental than P5, it's far riskier and not all of those risks paid off.
P5 on the other hand sticks to the same formula as the past games but improves upon it significantly.
I doubt many people will be disappointed by P5 since it pretty much does exactly what it promised to do.
I've put around 30 hours into XV and enjoyed it a fair bit even though there's so much in the game I wish I could change, but I've put at least 5 times that amount of time into P5 and absolutely loved it.

As someone that has beat P5 and is in the last parts of FFXV, P5 blows FFXV out of the water. I like FFXV quite a bit, but Persona 5 is just absolutely brilliant. An essential JRPG for anyone who has any interest in the genre.

They're pretty different. P5 works within its means and uses brilliant pacing and great core design to deliver a classic RPG with modern flair.

FFXV is a fun game with a lot of cool ideas, great setpieces, and gorgeous open world sections.

I didn't do any grinding and finished P5 at 150 hours.

This is particularly impressive to me because my playtimes are always longer than my friends. Meaning I'll probably get even more mileage, just because I walk around, stroll without a care in the world, etc in games that pull me in.

I did most of the side missions, but I don't count those as grinding, per se. I will say that I finished the game at a level a lot lower than most of my friends.

This is a pretty important point and why the game doesn't FEEL long despite its length. The pacing just works, the plot feels more like a logical sequence of events than say 4 - and its more interesting and varied as well.

I think a good example of this is (dungeon spoiler)
Futaba's dungeon. At that point you've gone through 3 baddies of the month and are probably expecting something similar, but the game subverts your expectations a bit and has you infiltrating a new ally's heart to get them on your side.

Finished it with 245 hours I think.
First Persona I completely finish (I played games like DDS more).

I was afraid it would be hard to get max rank on every arcana but I got like almost an entire month full of free days. I probably had dozens of nights with 20+ days.
So... since I'm not a veteran of this series, having only played a few hours some of them, I guess we can say it's quite easy to do this, which is a good thing.

I loved te art style. The menus are gorgeous. Characters and story are strong. It's the message delivered that I liked te most. I works well with our society.

Fighting is ok but could get better from following #FE's example, adding new elements to it.
For the dungeons, I clearly couldn't go back to a game with randomly generated bland floors. I actually felt really bored with the mementos as soon as I was staying there for "too long".

I think the series could also get better by modifying the daily life which gets tiring after a while. It's not that bad, but the pace takes a hit. You really have a dungeon versus life pattern that could be upgraded.
Maybe that's also why I prefer SMT.

But well... I'm not a Persona fan especially, again.

If we want more AAA JRPGs on PS4 and beyond, we should be supporting both titles, not trying to tear one down for the sake of the other.

I am admittedly a huge FFXV fanboy and I plan on getting P5 day one. I don't get why people gotta make it one vs the other.

I'm not getting FFXV because I just spent a lot of money on Black Friday. Then, February is Nier month and April gets to be Persona time finally.

Well, someone asked...

Both of them are RPGs that were supposed to be released on ps3 too, so both had been in the oven for quite some time now, the comparisons are inevitable, especially next year that P5 will be released internationally.

I think it speaks more to P5 fulfilling one aspect that FF used to do.

To me when I think FF I think about my journey with amazing characters I connected deeply with like Vivi, Steiner, Celes, Cecil etc. And that's something I haven't been able to do with FF in a looooooong time.

My time with FFXV so far has been very noncommittal(a friend got it, I'm leeching), so far it's been a fun game but in a way it's also a game that breaks my heart in weird ways because it doesn't seem to be able to tap into what many of my favorite FFs were able to.

--------------------------

Also goddamnit Atlus can you pls patch out the streaming restrictions x_X I actually would love to play a bit more Persona 5 again and commenting on stuff to pitch it to some interested friends that have expressed interest in the game.

I'm only on the 3rd dungeon still(64 hours in) and P5 is way better than FFXV. FFXV has great music and some nice visuals in areas but besides that the rest is pretty subpar.

I'm going to quickly finish the last guardian and finish this game before the year is over I hope. This game is so good but I'm savoring every last minute of it.

It's not for the sake of the other. It's just because it deserves it.
We should buy every AAA rpg in the hope we get good ones ?
No, thanks.

I have 5 copies of FFXV with me right now (I collect FF games and diff versions) and its a piece of shit as a final fantasy game. I supported it enough and to square enix im probably more valuable as a customer than the people shilling it on forums anyway so yea.

P5 is much better. XV made me resub to XIV because my 30 hours with that was better in every way than XV.
