The London Heist PS4 Morpheus VR demo (video)

That looks wicked.

Might be a bit weird to move your feet using a stick and have the rest be matched up but I bet you can get used to that and it'll be awesome.

Great demo though.

Will PS4 be able to output to a morpheus as well as the TV though? Would make a better living room shared experience but sounds like it'd be demanding maybe.

The more I see demos like this, the more I think your typicla action game ISN'T what VR will be about.

The games that put you in a place to admire the details and to challenge your perceptions, will be the games that will truly offer something interesting and unique, and what will get people to try it. Not arcade on rails/wha-a-mole style shooters.

Something like say the Myst series, making a comeback would be AMAZING.

Imagine, Myst VR, that features puzzles that play with your senses in VR, that require you to explore and notice the details... it would be like the original, heralding a new way to look at games.

I reaaaaaally think VR is the next big nothing.

It´ll probably end up being pretty successful in the Porn industry though.

We need gifs of little dudes sitting on bean bag wearing Morpheus, looking like they are doped up, and gifs of little dudes in the gym.

Looks really weird, the game part itself is cool and looks accurate with the motion stuff etc, but the guy looks silly as hell :p Looks exhilarating to play, but would get tiring fast.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Cyan is actually working on Obduction right now which is a Myst spiritual successor. It's already confirmed to be having Oculus Rift support.

I mean, can you imagine what its going to be like walking through this?

Looks pretty fun.
But the glowing Move balls sort of make you look even more ridiculous than you already do while playing

I can imagine some cool action games/adventure games on VR, something like a VR Skyrim would be awesome (just give me an analog to move aroun but let me swing my sword with motion controls).

But I definitely think the strength of VR is going to be the type of games you describe. Not only Puzzle games like VR but also those games that are more about the experience than the actual gameplay. I see the style of games from That Game Company to find a place in VR and stuff like Ether One or the Vanishing of Ethan Carter, mabye even stuff like telltale style games (in first person and with less technical issues)

Looks like something that is fascinating at first and annoying 10 minutes in.

I was thinking that too, I have never tried VR though so I could be out to lunch. It would be interesting to play a game like Endless Ocean in VR. The deep parts of the sea would be terrifying.

At first I was watching the screen as he was messing with the physics objects and wasn't too impressed, but when I saw how into it he was getting, especially with the gunfight, yeah this could be pretty sweet. Though I still think chill interesting experiences will be preferable, stuff where I can take my time and poke around.

We have a couple of Oculus´s flying around in the office and every time somebody shows me a new demo I think it´s really cool, but would I want to actually play a game like this? Nooooooo.

Looks cool, but still rough. Hope Sony isn't screwing up by not holding this off until PS5. I also hope they add arms to your character -- looks weird with the floating hands.

Ridiculous, but impressive.

Shame the first mainstream VR experiences want to put me into the shoes of organised crime, demo or not, but hey.

Looks good. The camera seems to track body movements accurately/

It's only tracking the head and hands, the rest is done using forward kinematics. It's also not really the camera doing the tracking, it's outside-in positional tracking using sensor fusion with the integrated IMUs on the moves and morpheus.

i think that was one of the big points when they talked about morpheus, the image is gonna be mirrored to the tv so if you are not playing alone other people can share the experience with you

someone can correct me if im wrong but i think it was in a slide last year (cant remember which event), as you can see in the video as well btw on the tv they are displaying what he is seeing

There's a horror game on Rift where you're watching TV in your house and horror stuff starts happening around you. Sounds like an amazing idea for VR.

EDIT - here it is, called Alone. Markiplier warning though.
