LTTP: Yakuz.... DANG IT!

Confession time: I own Yakuza 1, Yakuza 2, Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 0, yet never cracked the seal on any of them until today. After reading threads about Yakuza Kiwami, I finally broke down and decided I should start. Based on Gaf recommendations, I cracked open my sealed copy of Yakuza 0 this morning, which I purchased during a buy 2 get 1 free sale at Target back in early March.

This is what I found:

I pretty much have no recourse now, since I've been sitting on the sealed game for so long. I presume this is when LTTP can bite you in the butt. I suppose the moral of the story is "open your games", but I'm not certain I will learn my lesson.

So Gaf, has this ever happened to one of you? Should I go buy another copy and hope for the best?

BONUS QUESTION: What the heck is this TV show, and should I watch it?

Update: So maybe this kid wasn't full of crap after all. http://m.ign.com/articles/2007/01/04/boy-finds-porn-in-madden-case

I do have to wonder, how the hell does that happen?

Did you buy the game used?

Nope, factory sealed and purchased from Target. I got it during a sale back in March, along with a couple other games. One of which is Gravity Rush 2, also sealed... scared to check.

My guess is that this happened at the factory, not sure how else it could be sealed on a Target shelf like that.

Maybe if you open the other games, you'll find Discs 1-3, so you can watch that TV show from the beginning.

Hahaha - That would be amazing

I thought this thread was going to be about OP having just completed the first Yakuza on PS2 before finding out that Kiwami is out next week.

Someone probably bought it, opened it, kept the disc, put a different disc in, resealed it, and returned it to Target.

Holy shit you just gave me a big panic attack.
After KH3 Toy Story trailer, I immediately bought KH2.8 and 1.5+2.5 new copy.
Still going through 1.5+2.5 so I kept my 2.8 sealed.
I bought my sealed 2.8 from a random guy who is selling me at a pretty cheap price and I kept it sealed just in case I didn't enjoy 1.5+2.5 enough to continue, after reading through this thread I immediately opened it.

Also that's a 10 year old Hong Kong drama, such a random tv series DVD end up in there.

I'm getting 0 next week, I sure hope I don't have this problem. I'm also getting the first remake next week.

I'm also a newcomer to the series. Don't have 3, 4 or 5 yet. I was hoping for remasters of them, but when I finish with these 2 and still no word, I'll probably just buy them on PS3.

That's some bizarre shit!

You had me scared, so I decided to open the other game I purchased that day which stayed sealed (Gravity Rush 2)... I'm all good there.

As I said in the OP, I purchased it during a buy 2 get 1 free sale at Target back in March. That day I got Yakuza 0, Gravity Rush 2, and Nioh. The only game I actually started playing was Nioh, because it was right around the time of the Switch launch and Horizon Zero Dawn.

I'll chop it up as a Buy 2 Get 0 sale :).

You'll enjoy 0, it's a great game.

i brought Tales of Berseria sealed at Bestbuy and just finally opened the bubblemailer to find that it was opened from the bottom (disc is still intact) but this takes the cake.

Lmao. As I was reading I thought "why don't you start with those and leave 0 for later" and then that happens haha.

See? God giving you a second chance.

God damn, that is twistier than the plot of an actual Yakuza game! Sorry for your loss, OP. Hopefully you can buy another copy at Target and complain to them about this one so you can get your money back. This is completely unfair.

The closest thing I've had happen like this was, I bought Dark Souls 3 brand new and shipped from Amazon, not a 3rd party, it arrived opened with the game missing. Sucks when stuff like this happens. It doesn't hurt to contact Target and see if something can be done though.

Guess I should go check my unopened copy. I'm playing dark souls 3 now, then was planning on nier automata, then Yakuza 0. Having a crappy show I can't watch instead would put a wrench in those gears.

I have also own 1-4 as well as Dead Souls for years and never played any of them.

They were all used except Dead Souls so I know the game disc is inside.
