TBF this isn't them changing their stance, it was critical reviews they wanted to avoid before launch last year, Skyrim special edition also had some people given access to coverage before launch they just you know... weren't critical of the game. I hope Bethesda also sends codes to reviewers before launch because I am not buying until I can read a review or two after the first game, albeit I'll still check these out to see what's up.

TBH I'm a bit surprised they allowed this, but it kinda could actually be smart.... With a pretty busy October lineup of games (or Aug/Sep games folks are still playing), a great reception by streamers -- who are especially good at promoting horror games or jump scares in general imo -- could be exactly what TEW2 needs to help generate some extra buzz right at release.

With a bit of recent news kinda pushing against let's plays or streamers, this will be interesting to see how TWE2 sells and if the devs feel like letting folks stream it so heavily right before release helped sales. A recent example of another game doing this was probably the XCOM 2 expansion, and while obviously I don't know if it helped sales, it sure helped generate great buzz in my impression. I think devs have to be mindful to the type of game as of course let's plays probably detract value from some games more than others, but I hope it works out for the TEW2 guys.

That's great to hear then. I'll be reading those for sure, and that makes last year's fiasco of them hiding one of the best games ever made from reviews even more baffling, hope that helped them make a lot of money lol.

Anyone can link me some not too spoilery video? something that doesn't show any jump scares or boss fights, just a normal gameplay, preferably not from the hub segment.

I'm watching him now. He's a bit of a Survival Horror buff, and he's very impressed with the game. Sounds like he's enjoying it quite a bit. Also, Nightmare seemsreally challenging, so for folks that want to jump in on that, beware.

Devs giving codes to streamers early is a very common thing to promote their upcoming thing. It's a win-win for both parties, streamers get a super boost in viewers and devs/publishers get free advertising.

Yup and that is better than spend million of dollars in live action trailers, cgi trailers or putting posters and murales in different cities.

Don't want watch the video, but from what they show so far, the game is really that much open then the first game in term of exploration ? Feel like Wolfstenein on PS3/Xbox360 ? Open area with sub linear stage ?

Awesome! I need to see how the PC version handles. I can run the first one maxed at 30fps, I'm assuming I could hit 60 but I hear it was a real bad port and not optimized for anything over 30. Any word so far on pc optimization for this one?

My best guess is if you didn't get a code with this lot, it will be a day one afair. I've let them know in my personal stance I'll just pass on a code if thats the case as I was buying it regardless.

The OT is ready to post so just waiting to see see when it should go live. So much going on with the game now at this point.
