Portal 2 co-op out October 4th, free on all platforms.

Initially slated for summer, Valve's first, free expansion to Portal 2 will be out for PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for free. It's called "Peer Review" and is made for co-op.

"Peer Review" continues the game's co-op storyline, according to Valve. "You and a friend will continue the story of loyal bots P-Body and Atlas as you puzzle your way through a mysterious new co-op test track and once again match wits with GLaDOS."

The expansion will also include single-player and co-op challenge mode that uses online leaderboards.

I really wish i bought this game on the 360 instead of PS3. I bought into the hype of more free and early updates on the PS3 and PC as opposed to the 360 and that hasnt materialized.

Surprised that MS went along with the free dlc. I hope this means that the bean counters there realise that Valve is really great.

It doesn't mean anything, anyone who puts DLC out for free on PS3 can do the same on 360.

"The test baby is soothed."

"Ship it."

... Is the precise wording of the conversation between Josh Weier and Gabe when the DLC went gold.

you know im kinda expecting valve to give a throwaway mention to aperture in episode 3

i mean they shipped out products and shit to mass market and yet we never saw it in hl2/hl1

they could probably easily explain it away by the combine seizing all aperture-related products after the seven hour war when they realize the advanced level of tech it was
