There's a new Kickstarter project for an illustrated art book, strategy guide and hint book for "Quest for Infamy", by Infamous Quests. It's an adventure game and it's looking really good! You can also see videos, images and download a demo here.

You should probably post this in the new thread (look at the post above you)!

You're launching your Malebogia campaign this month?

I don't know. I've been freaking out lately on how to handle and time things. Real-life work and worries are being a cause of concern and an incredible time/energy drain lately.

Now Darkest Dungeon is kind of going for a similar kind of appeal, and, well, I think it looks much better so I fear it would compete me out of Kickstarter dollars. All the best to the devs though, I know one of them at least is a Gaffer. Looks and sounds really cool.

Maybe you should hold off till March or April, because as you saw, February is insanely packed with Kickstarters

We have just launched a Kickstarter project for our game EvoCreo (similar to Pokémon). We are trying to add animations to all the monsters and NPCs with this next round of funding.

It's my unprofessional and uninformed opinion that anyone planning a KS should probably shift it to March or something because February is already packed as is

Galactic Princess (February)
Darkest Dungeon (February 10th)
Witchmarsh ("roughly February 19th")
Proven Lands ("early February")
Heart & Slash ("in February, I think")
Kill The Bad Guy (mid-February)
Mighty Tactical Shooter ("mid to late February")
Lemma ("End of February")
Ashen Rift ("Late February")

Stop It

Perfectly able to grasp the inherent value of the fishing game.
I don't think this has been posted yet.

A sequel to the rather nice Twin Stick Shooter Waves called Waves: Arena Tactics.

For those who don't know, Waves was a Geo Wars ish sort of Twin Stick shooter, and was actually really quite good. It had a nice flow to it, the scoring was good and the music was good.

Now, the developer behind it wants to finish its sequel, which promise online MP, procedural generated levels and different weapons etc.

It sounds rather interesting, and the target is a very reasonable £30,000 (Just shy of $50k). So if you like the genre I strongly suggest you take a look.

I wasn't sure if this was Thread worthy (I would say so as I liked Waves/Geo Wars) but can take it to one if interest is there.

Aesthetically the battles look similar to Pokémon, but they play a bit differently then a Pokémon battle. Thanks for the compliment :)

I think I will support this. Nintendo seems against any type of Pokemon MMO on PC/Android or any Pokemon game that is not on their mobile devices.

No offense, but it's one character looking at another character in the same positions as Pokemon.

None taken. There are other games that have a similar view (see MicroMon and MinoMonsters). The argument could be made that the battle style used in our game and the other games I mentioned are similar in the same way that games, like call of duty or battlefield, have similar first person perspectives.

This is why Pokemon has a monopoly on turn-based monster games. People just dont want anything to compete with Pokemon.

Pretty much. I'd love to see more Pokemon-esque games. That battling and talent tree stuff in that MicroMon game actually looks decent. It just seems to be that Facebook game style overworld and "click the screen to pick up all the stars and coins" stuff that is unappealing... to me at least.

I haven't played a Pokemon game in a long time. It's just that the two games in that post use the Pokemon formula with outrageous micro-transaction methods.

I don't mind good games inspired by Pokemon.

I don't see a 2014 thread so I guess I will just post this here!

You should all help PLAYISM(that's us!) and NIGORO with our La-Mulana 2 Kickstarter!

We are getting pretty close to the goal, but so is the deadline.
Naramura-san has a special message for all of you!

Side note/complaint - since KS modified their interface and drop down menu, there is always a green dot indicating there are new updates for me to read. The notification dot doesn't go away even though I visit my activity, see nothing new, and even scroll down a few pages.

Yeah, it sucks.

Really dislike the new interface. Yes, it lets you fine tune your search but I liked before, how Staff Picks, Ending Soon, etc. were prominent while now they're buried beneath menus and search modifiers

Steve, the dog with no powers that we let hang out with us all for some reason
Blackmore: A Steampunk Adventure Game

Japanese adventure game set in steampunk London, created by Japanese and US game industry veterans in a rich 2.5D style.

You play as Emma Blackmore, a brave young heroine who, along with the help of her steampunk gadget-laden robot sidekick, Descartes, must track down a serial killer that's terrorizing the people of East London. Her normal life is shattered one day and she finds herself embroiled in a dark and twisted mystery that exposes the dark side of the city and the dark side of humanity itself.

Jeremy Blaustein leads the project (translator and localization manager of games like Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill 2, Snatcher and other Konami games, along with games like Ace Attorney 3, Vandal Hearts and Banshee's Last Cry) along with Satoshi Yoshioka (character designer on Snatcher and Policenauts) and music by Motoaki Furukawa (Gradius, Snatcher)

That Blackmore campaign video...

I don't back campaigns that don't have anything to show besides talking devs, concept art, and ideas
