Just wanted to add my two cents on some of the recent conversation topics.

I also agree that both sides of the extremes need to cool off a little: we don't need new threads for things like this; those threads are either going to be filled with people from this thread or a bunch of haters so what's the point? On the flip side, I too am extremely sick of "it's nothing" being thrown out for every potd. Especially when the picture and/or comments actually are some new information! Great if the pic or new info doesn't appeal to you but it isn't nothing. Pictures where you can actually use that phrase - upclose shot of Luigi's nose, upclose picture of hole in the wall (that had already been mentioned/revealed) in pyrosphere, etc.

As far as the new item/assist trophy - AWESOME! I really like specific items/assist trophy's from games like this. Goes with my want for Rambi or some of the other animal mounts from Donkey Kong to become items/assist trophy's that your character can ride and control. I too miss a lot of the items that have gotten cut, especially that barrel cannon! I am one of those players that like playing with items on just as much as with items off. I think both have their merits and fun can be had playing both ways. It is odd that although we have seen just about everything in both versions we have yet to see items in the 3DS version. I am positive it doesn't mean they won't be in it but i'm wondering if they really will look significantly different or if they will look relatively the same? Wondering if they will have some kind of restrictions on the 3DS version with things like the amount of pokeballs that can be on the stage at once where they won't have the same or as many restrictions on the Wii U or if they will gimp the Wii U version so there isn't favoritism or any differences between them?

That's a great idea. Animal Crate would be an item to summon randomly Nintendo animals but they already claimed that Nintendog is a part of AT.

Err, it definitely is not easier and takes forever for the images to load.

But it archives all pics so it is more useful than the official site.

I really like the idea of that. It would be distinguishable by having a picture on the outside of it like the flammable ones. What are some other items that you guys would really LOVE to see as items or assist trophy's that would really represent some of the series like Rambi or the cuccoos? Anything else from Metroid like the screw attack? What about any of the under-represented smash series getting items?

I don't think that it is because it hurts peoples feelings, You are in a forum where people come to talk and get hyped about an amazing game that all of us really care a lot about. I think many of us have a great appreciation for Sakurai and all those involved in creating our favorite game and it is just frustrating when you have people taking a dump on the hard work and Sakurai's generosity in giving us little bits of information and screenshots every day (which he doesn't have to do at all). It'd just be nice to have some more positivity and optimism in this forum instead of the typical negativity and salt that we get every day. (Just My Opinion)

Yeah, I promised myself I'd ignore these users. Now every other post is blocked and it fragments the hell out of the community. Either I put up with the shit posters or I put up with a fragmented community. It's ridiculous.

Easier to navigate? How exactly? The official Smash Bros. site is about as straightforward as you can get. There's the daily picture, a link to all the videos, and a bunch of big character icons that lead to the respective characters' pages. The fan site has more content because it archives everything that has been revealed through daily pictures and whatnot, yes, but that doesn't make it easier to navigate. That just means it has more content. The official site doesn't exactly have all that content to navigate through, and it's not supposed to.

But you know what would be cool? If, besides that effect, there was also a small chance that by beating the cucco a lot you take control of it (like in twilight princess) for a few seconds, and it's like a super powered character, that can easily knock out everyone. This would add a (fun) reward for whoever wanted to risk attacking it!

To bring up "it's fucking nothing" as a bannable offense just because it's annoying to you is terrible. It contributes as much to the thread as someone who posts "yay!" It's an honest reaction. Just put the people on ignore if it annoys you.

Sure.

I wasn't the one advocating bans or even the ignore function. It is just a tad silly when a mechanic update or a new item is called nothing when it is clearly something. New information is new information even when it doesn't include a character reveal.

I mean, I always figured it was just because those people usually stayed up until the update, then immediately reacted to the disappointment. Sure, it's kinda annoying, but not any more so than someone saying "Sakurai trolled us" or whatever when Yoshi isn't revealed. Seems a little extreme to ignore every person who says it. But to each his own I guess.

Alternatively, they could make it a very horrid punishment if they made you transform into the Cucco temporarily, a lá Twilight Princess...with no means to defend yourself, meaning everyone can attack ya for a brief time before transforming back. Your idea is much more fun and I'd love to see it happen tho

I'm disappointed that they are not trying to make new stage that would share the similarity with Brinstar Depths. That stage was insane fun for my circle of friends.
