Have you seen Titanfall (Xbox 360)?

I'm just not sure i want to chance it on my halo 4 edition console.

Texting my friend now to see if he can bring over one of his extra arcade systems.

will try to confirm

Dude, don't worry about it, don't feel obligated to do anything. It's just not worth the risk, especially if you're uncomfortable about it (I would be too).

How's the frame rate in the menu? Any screen tearing? Font quality up there with the XB1?

I've noticed no screen tearing and can't confirm Xboxone text comparison since i don't have the console or game.

Just from what I'm setting here seeing graphically I'd compare it to black ops 2. I didn't play ghost very much but graphics aren't bad.

This, I think we gathered enough evidence to reasonably assume it's part of the patch. If it is fake, It's alot of effort for almost nothing (reddit post has almost no attention).

If the patch is already going out, why are the servers still off!?

Why are they trying to hide this game till' release date so bad!?
Because they only don't want is for people to actually play the game, the patch doesn't enable play so they can safely put it out.
They knew release date wasn't enforced (see X1 release), so they kept the servers off this time.

Nothing like having Gen 9's and 10's running around before the game even "officially" came online.

Guys, I have neither a 360 nor a One. My only chance for playing a TF game is if the sequel does, in fact, go multi-plat to PS4. That being said, this thread has been one long, hilarious cockblock.

I JUST WANT TO SEE THE FUCKING 360 VERSION OF THE GAME AT THIS POINT! Seriously, at this point we highly suspect it's legit leaked. The only reason for no pics or vids is that the people who have it already are consciously fucking with everyone. It's sort of beautiful/horrible.

The only reason for no pics or vids is that the servers aren't up. We have pics/vid of what is currently available in the 360 version (menus and options).

The only reason we haven't seen it is because the severs aren't online in an online only game

Ugh, I didn't even think about that. Sorry. Man, just what a messed up scenario. I figured they could get some level of in-game access without servers, but I guess not.

I still, to this day, don't understand Tuesday launch dates.

It's apparently because people who track sales figures start/end weeks on a Monday. Tuesday launch gives them the full 7 days the first week of sales figures.

Nope, not even the completely single-player tutorial can be accessed while the servers aren't up.

You don't have a PC? Even an average PC can run Titanfall... Some even better than the Xbox One.

Just a cheapo laptop that can run Amnesia at like 10 fps. I do a lot of my media consumption on my phone and tablet, and my gaming on my PS4 and Wii U.

A very good friend of mine has an "average PC" which cost upwards of 700$ at a store. I assure you, it is *not* capable of running Titanfall.

no, xbox one is 60fps most of the time, where as xbox 360 is 30-35 fps most of the time.
I'm really intrigued to know how the 360 holds the 30s while there are 2+ titans fighting it out. That can get quite ugly on the Xone.

I have, what I consider, a very average (because 2010 built high-end) PC
(i7 920 @2.8GHz, 560Ti 1GB, 6GB RAM)
and the beta was running wonderfully. Haven't bought the game so I can't tell nothing about that, but 1080p60 even with multiple titans on the battlefield was no problem.

If you got an "average" PC for $700 you got punked.

If you got a PC that can't run Titanfall at $700. (recently,) you got punked.

Despite being the most unoptimized game I've ever played, with graphics lagging on 2nd highest setting, I could run Titanfall fine on my ~$500 system a couple years back.

That is patently false. The Xbox One version runs below 60 fps and exhibits tearing the vast majority of the time. That's not to say it sits at 30-35 fps all the time, but it routinely hangs under 60 fps. It's nowhere near stable.

Just out of curiosity, what are the specs of this $500 PC from a couple years back? I'm interested.

Not only that, it dips into the single digits every game.

I would rather have a solid and consistent framerate. If I can't maintain 60fps on my PC, I often just lock the games at 30, instead of dealing with the stutter.

Basically, I don't really know why you would want to play the game with the 30Hz option turned Off.

I know that unlocking the framerate can reduce input latency (while also introducing possible screen tearing), but I don't think that's all worth leaving it unlocked.

If you want Options, buy a PC. Console gaming is supposed to be streamlined.

I honestly have no idea why this sudden trend of unlocked console framerates has come around, and I don't like it.

I have never locked a game at 30 if I had the option to run unlocked. I've tried it before and hated it.

Ticking or not ticking a box for your preference doesn't make any less steamlined. If they locked it with no other option then that leaves out the people who would prefer it unlocked. This way everyone is happy.

Complaining about this is like complaining that having sensitivity options for aiming in a game means the controls weren't "streamlined."

The option to lock the framerate is still there.

In the case of Infamous: Second Son, only after consumers requested the option. I don't think Tomb Raider: DE has the option at all. I'm glad that Titanfall does, but I'm talking about a larger, very recent trend in console gaming.

I don't understand why locking games at 30 or 60Hz was standard for two entire console generations, then suddenly in 2014 devs start deciding that variable framerates in between the two without Gsync is perfectly cool.
