While you're correct, I was speaking in this specific case (PS4/XB1). You're right though.

To the person who says Tomb Raider: DE is $30, it's still $60 in plenty of places. I know some sales happened, but it's MSRP is still currently $59.99. As is The Last of Us PS3.

I don't see a problem with the price, to be honest. Tomb Raider Reboot was a different story because the game bombed originally and by the time it was released on PS4, you could get the PC version for $10 or so. "The Last of Us" has been pretty stable in that regard.

I am looking forward to this, particularly if it contains the DLC. I never got to play it on my PS3, mostly because it came out late and my drive was full, and it didn't seem worth it to put a new drive in just for this.

So I'll pick it up for the PS4.

I'll definitely buy it for the PS4... but there is no way in hell I will buy that at $70 to $80 (physical copy) up here in Canada at launch. Even the damn digital copy is now more expensive than a physical copy of a game from a few months back. It sucks, but I'll wait to see a good deal or a price drop. It is easier for me to take the hit for the $15 for the DLC now than full price of the game and the DLC for the PS4.

Still, nice to see The Last of Us get a PS4 treatment. I'm interested to see it running. I have a feeling it will be 1080p/30 and that is totally alright with me.

To those complaining, stop your bitching. You don't even know what's going to be included in the full release yet. This game will only be a year old by the time that this releases too. This is one of the best game's this gen and many of you are acting like it's going to stay $60 forever. You have no obligation to buy it on release day. And if you're going to argue with me about this, I promise that I'll make you look like an idiot.

Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog because she was trying to get the price point to $39 and in a tyrannical outburst Neil Druckmann forcefully made it a full price game and then forced her out.



But seriously, there have been many times we have been sold "Game of the Year" editions of games at full price ... things like Skyrim. We may have been a bit upset but there wasn't this much outrage. We're getting a "Game of the Year" edition of a legitimate game of the year WITH it being up-ported to a next generation console where all the people who never got a chance to play it can now have a crack at the game in a much more graphically beautiful way.

Of course it is $59.

Back on topic:

GOTY editions are often full price with all DLC right? So a remastered up-port of an incredibly acclaimed game with a $15 story DLC and all multiplayer DLC (which it's certain to have) for a game that's less than a year old seems like a pretty fair deal.

Don't get me wrong, I'd want it cheaper, but I don't think they're necessarily gouging.

But I have gamefly so I'm not so price conscious.

Why are people complaining about this....? There's a ton of people (like me) who didn't get a chance to play this because they had a 360, would prefer to play it at 1080p/60 FPS, or enjoyed the multiplayer and wants to play it on their PS4.

It includes the DLC and it took very little resources to port this over (Naughty Dog did not put whatever they're working to the side to work on this).

For those who wants it but not at $60 bucks, wait for a little and the price will go down.
For those who don't want it, don't buy it.

The thought of Naughty Dog's texture work being upgraded to closer to it's full potential and rendered at 1080p has me really excited to see this game.

Meh, I already payed $60 for The Last of Us PS3. It was completely worth it, and I see pretty much no benefit in upgrading since it already looked beautiful and performed really well IMO. Of course, I don't own a PS4 yet so that also deters the purchase atm.

$60? Skipping this until the price drops down and even then, I already played it once on the PS3 so I'm not in a hurry. I'll probably just skip it all together. I guess this is good for the people who haven't bought the game yet though and wanted a PS4 version.

I hope that's the case. 1080p/60fps with better textures would be excellent. I have my doubts on some level as to whether it will be 60fps if they improve the textures enough, but either way, I hope it's a damn fine port.

(not too bothered about MP DLC, played the MP at launch and it was a bit crap, the new single player DLC would be very welcome though)

Your absolutely right. This is a Game of the Year edition done "right" in a way. It got a graphical upgrade alongside the bundled DLC. Who knows, they may have even stuck back in everything cut out of the game. There is a thread on that here somewhere.

I'll be shocked if they don't go ahead and announce it today. The image is still live on the website.

1080p/60fps and I'm there, day 1. Otherwise, I'll wait for a price drop. Definitely buying though. Moves me one step closer to breaking completely free of the PS3.

I hope they allow the cutscenes to be 30fps while leaving the gameplay at 60fps. MGS:GZ became a bit distracting with the 60fps cutscenes.

Never owned PS3, day 01 PS4 owner. Really looking forward to this game too and I seriously don't see a problem with this release. Also, I doubt that (if there is any) work on sequel would suffer because of it... TR was ported by relatively small time in a relatively short space of time. Good times ahead!

I would say 30 fps cutscenes and 60 fps gameplay would be distracting, I'd rather have both @ 60. I played MGS:GZ and I had no issue with it, felt very natural to me.

I would have probably bit if it was 40$ but not at 60$.

I'm not dying to rebuy this game. Will have to see what all is improved, but will probably wait for a price drop before I buy it again.

So without knowing what's going to be in the game, it's okay to blindly love it and claim $60 is totally worth it in this thread. But, since we don't know what's in it, nobody can post negative comments, all they should do is just not buy it. And you can't discuss the launch price because games drop in price.

Holy shit...what is wrong with some of you? The game came out less than one year ago, and I assume the release will come out with all the DLC and will be superior to the original. How can you complain about $60 for a release like this? It's quite different compared to a HD Remaster of a game that came out years ago, for example. Not everyone in the world had the chance to buy it on PS3, as the release date was pretty recent.

Considering how early it was posted, most likely a web service posted it online. Someone ticked the wrong calender box prolly.

Wow, I was a big CS:S guy in the past and I enjoyed Uncharted 2/3 multiplayer. I might have to take a look at this then. Haven't tried CS: Go yet.

The Last of Us, Arkham Knight, Destiny, Infamous: SS, The Order, FFX Vita version... Looks like it will be a solid year because I still have a backlog so there's plenty to play. I don't know how some of you have all this time.

I don't have a problem with the price, but I already own it. For me the next Gen "leap" isn't significant enough to re-buy anything. Maybe when it gets to be sub $20... for people who didn't have a ps3 last gen, this needs to be a day 1 purchase.
