Pilotwing Item has its own Logo. Maybe we get some Pilotwing character? Every Assist and Item from a small franchise that doesnt have a Fighter in the game just has the standart Smash Bros Logo.

Could be the Mii character.

Stages got their own logo in Brawl, so that doesn't really confirm anything.

It's even kind of odd that the Find Mii stage has a crown as an emblem, rather than a more generic Mii one... If Mii were in the game, I'd think it'd just be considered a Mii stage, not its own thing.

Troll? Yes. But he's not cruel. He loves his fans, and he loves making games for his fans and pleasing them. He wouldn't drag this out so much if there wasn't more to Ridley than him swooping across a stage a bit.

There's also how Ridley being a boss is nothing new. He had two separate boss battles in Brawl, after all. The Yellow Devil's revelation also was kind of dragged out, but it at least resulted in a new mechanic - boss characters that appear in the middle of battles, attack the players, but also can be destroyed. A Ridley boss battle likely would just use the same mechanics, not add anything new. Still, if there's something unique about that battle, I guess it could be just teasing that.

Not that it is much of a surprise, but Wario is more than likely returning. Ashley and Waluigi had Wario's logo. Weird that they consider Waluigi a Wario character though.

She's been imprinted with Chozo DNA to allow her to survive in harsh environments such as high-grav low-oxygen situations. No idea if it affected her height, but the Chozo aren't exactly short themselves. Almost certainly affected her bulk, as 90kg is pretty buff but that's what you'd need to deal with higher gravity.

The size wasn't the thing. If you're somewhat human (as in, skin and bones) and 200 pounds, then you're pretty muscular, and not as skinny as she is.

I think that Greninja video was an obvious Mewtwo hint. First, it looked like they were implying Mewtwo when initially shown. The video would've been even more surprising had they not shown that teaser scene but they added it anyways. Second, it's Charizard who is battling. Charizard vs. Mewtwo having an epic battle is a thing now that retroactively existed in the Red and Blue games.

Look it's even Mega-Evolving into the same Charizard that they added to the game.

IIRC Samus is supposed to be over 6ft without her suit. I looked at metroid wikia but they weren't very clear about this, though I remember reading that she was supposed to be almost 7ft tall with the suit on.

Samus is 6'3'' canonically and weighs 200 pounds (90.7 kg), but it's unclear whether that refers to her with suit on or suit off. However, even supposing it's with suit on, the suit doesn't actually add that much to her height according to pretty much all of the art available, so she's probably no shorter than 5'11'' at the very most. Also, when I say it's "unclear", I've always thought it was pretty clear it meant sans suit, I'm only mentioning this because there's some controversy.

So, she is naturally taller than Charizard. This is no design mistake like the guy I quoted make it seem to be.

It's not exactly cruel to tease Ridley as a stage boss when that's exactly what he'll be. The only people assuming that it alludes to more and that anything less would be a bait-and-switch are the fans themselves. That's how good of a troll he is: people are taking PHANTOM BAIT.

Mewtwo has TK so it would have no problem being upside down. Plus in Melee it's TK jumping translated as barrow rolls in mid-air. And he didn't do "Ninja signs", he did one hand gesture upside down that, in retrospect, we now know is "ninja".

And to top it all off it's not clear that that's a shuriken til it breaks up of fire bros.

If Ridley is a character, I'd imagine that would be an E3 reveal. If not, he's probably just a boss again.

There could also be a scenario like the Toon Link on the Spirit Train Stage- Ridley swaps out for another Metroid boss if somebody is playing as Ridley.

Agreed. Before this direct it would have been easy to project our own perceptions of "trolliness" onto Lord Sakurai, but now it is blatantly obvious that he knows his fanbase and what they want. Just like he knew we wanted Sonic & now Little Mac in the west, Megaman globally, the Palutena leak, & that we were worried whether or not transformations would be a thing and thus ZSS/Sheik were in danger, it seems safe to assume he is playing up the Ridley thing for all it's worth and he may be a troll but to twist the knife like that even if he was a jerk, would be BAAAAD publicity. Ridley will probably be playable.

Considering he outright trolled everyone like 3 times during the direct, who knows how many 'subtle' trolls he's got going on. He's a sly devil.

So two things that caught my attention so far:

Starting at 11:40 on the direct video, they have the assist trophy summon andross on the metroid stage and then they switch to the battlefield stage. I have no idea why they did this. It just seems weird.

Also, on 15:40, where they show the pong assist trophy, you can see they're on a final destination version of the Metroid stage. This either confirms we'll be able to play on the "final destination versions" of stages offline, or that you'll be able to play them with friends.

Not much, but it's what I've got.

EDIT: During the Deoxys showing on the pokeball showcase, you can see a heart plant from Skyward Sword right behind him. Maybe those appear throughout the stage and can heal the fighters?

EDIT 2: There's no way that's ridley's tail that you guys are seeing. Only his wings have that color, and his tail matches the color of his body.

Can't be his wing though because of the shape.

The Mewtwo connection is that in the Pokemon movie, Mewtwo Strike Back, Mewtwo does those hand movements in order to create a storm over an ocean iirc. He has ball fingers too, so I could see why people felt the troll.

Not really. Mewtwo's hand gestures were pointing and like he was a psychic. The silhouette hand gestures were obviously ninja (from the handseals to gathering a shuriken energy).
