Cautiously hyped. I enjoyed First Class but seeing as how they're cramming a lot of mutants into the movie, I could see a fault being some of them not getting enough screen time/development they need and being somewhat awkward.

Well shit....Bryan Singer+big budget never turns out well.

I'll tell you what, if X-Men Apocalypse is shit, I'll shut my mouth about Singer forever. Because that's the film where he's re-uniting with his X2 team of writers.

DofP could still have a garbage script thanks to Kinberg (X3, This Means War).

Yeah there's real X-men 3 danger here.

Ive had my doubts. I didn't think the first trailer was very good and the awful Empire covers. some of the designs looked terrible.

Luckily, these last two trailers got me back on the board the hype train. Lots of young Magneto=win

About those featurettes, The one with helmet can be spoilery. But more importantly singer says that the specific scene wasn't in the script. He scrapped the original part in the script and either him or some other writers wrote a different scene. It seems that he did a lot of pick and choose and rewrites on the set at times.

Also what's cool about the scene is that it just seems like a bunch a guys came up with it yesterday. And the day of filming there all throwing in their input to make the scene better . Probably a scene with not a lot of dialogue but a lot of action and movement.

Welp, here comes the marketing blitz.

Another two featurettes were just put up on Fox's youtube channel.

Remember, this is the most expensive non-Cameron film FOX has ever made.

Holy shit. X-Men deserves this treatment, I'm fucking hyped. First Class was great, it really deserves all the effort in the world for it's follow up.

I don't think they're cramming too many characters in this. The main players are going to be Xavier, Magneto, Mystique, Beast, and Logan (who are all returning) and Trask/Sentinels. A lot of the new mutants are meant to be full-fledged characters, they're eyecandy to show that there are other non-X-Men mutant resistance fighters out there.

I'm liking more and more of what I see, but I think the powers involved know how hard Quicksilver will be to sell on the public based on reactions they've been seeing.

The "getting the gang back together" aspect of the movie is something I was a bit unaware of (and I suppose I feel a bit silly for not seeing that angle coming) ... and I'm feeling it.

80's X-Men will always be the best X-Men.

I'm on the fence on this one.
Even as a HUGE X-Men fan from the 80's-90's I was never hooked with the whole "Wolverine and friends" take on the movies.

In fact, the movie I've liked the most was First Class (see a pattern?) but this one looks like a return to the first movies tone.

Unless I see glowing reviews I'll pass on this one.

Quicksilver still looks like shit.

The reason i want to see this movie is because i'm curious about how they end it. I want to know how what happens to the future timeline and past timeline, and how it will all (probably) all connect to X-men: Apocalypse.

Unfortunally it seems "Wolverine and Friends" has been the real X-men name for a long time.
I dont like it either. My favorite xmen comic books came from that thin time frame between the beggining of the second group and before wolverine became too popular (and when the 90´s hit hard)

I also think First Class is the best Xmen movie... and that much of it is because theres (almost) no Wolverine in it

I just wanted them to bring Nightcrawler back :(

Nightcrawler was always amongst my favorites from the comics. He was pretty awesome in X2, maybe a bit too meek. Now that they have introduced Azazel I'm sure we will see Nightcrawler make a return at some point. Maybe not this movie though.

Why are the Sentinels so small? And why can Wolverine take one on by himself? I haven't read too many comics in the last 10 years, but I've had the impression that the Sentinels were massive and extremely dangerous in a way that if someone tried to just attack them head on, they wouldn't come out of the situation alive/unharmed.

Wolverine has killed many a Sentinel on his own in the past. A single Sent wouldn't last more then a few seconds and against any of the main X team on it's own.

I've seen the X-Men movies as they came out, but none of the Wolverine movies, and am trying to put together a viewing order for my son and I to watch between now and when DoFP comes out.

I'm thinking:
-X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
-X-Men: First Class (2011)
-X-Men (2000)
-X2: X-Men United (2003)
-X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
-The Wolverine (2013)

Thoughts?

That would probably be the best order, though they really do treat Origins as largely uncanon so it's not really needed.

I think the bulk of Origins takes place in the mid-late 70s and 80s. Its a bad movie and I think you should skip it, but chronologically most of it occurs after first class.

Fantastic trailer, my hype is reaching critical mass @_@

So rogue is still in this but she's a cameo now :/ might as well kill her off if they aren't going to use her.

Well, if nothing else this seems to confirm that:

(Ending speculation)
At the very least, she's showing up in the "fixed" future, and it was recently reported that Kelsey Grammar shot a cameo role as Beast. It's also been speculated that James Marsden (Cyclops) and Famke Janssen (Jean Grey) are there too.

Well that would be awesome then, maybe we can get a proper version of
the phoenix saga.
