The team was complete within 4 minutes of sending the email!
We'll send out confirmations tomorrow (to add suspense...)
Have a great Easter weekend everyone!

Fuck my life, I was playing titanfall while the email was sent out -.-

For those who have experience testing games, what are some tips in providing a good report?

It's rather straightforward for the most part, but when documenting events, is there a proper syntax to use?

Just be honest and as descriptive as you can be. They have to use your info to replicate it.

Took me 2 minutes to answer. I hope I'm selected.

I just got to my computer for the first time in a bit today and it was 3 hours ago. I'm in the South, so hopefully not many people (though I doubt it) responded.

edit: Bah, just saw the facebook post. Oh well.

Thanks for the fast responses. Now I feel really, really dumb.

Even if you implement the settings, people can still see what you are playing. VMC are aware of it. They told us in the first test last month there's nothing they can do about it. Don't worry about it.

You will get PM's off your friends asking you about it, just make sure that you don't talk to them about it. I just replied saying that I'm under NDA so can't discuss.

Had a chat about it with an VMC assistant after the session last night, and explained it to him why the current settings won't work properly. He wasn't aware of it. Also gave him a few suggestions to fix it and hope that he passes it on, or that someone from VMC was reading with us.

I think the main issue is they need the Xbox Mod to be able to see if you're online or not. If you set it to where no one can see what you're doing, then how will they be able to tell if you're actually playing the game or not?

Haven't had an email since the TCG email. Kinda sucks.

Same here, check the email multiple times daily but nothing.

same here, so you are not alone. Maybe they didn't like the results of our surveys? I don't know.

Same. I've got a tester ID and uploaded my dxdiag like it said (said it was successful). Guess fro the TCG they either didn't like my computer (relatively high end Nvidia with win7) or my answers in the survey (played a lot of TCGs).

Same here, and my brother as well, I would think that playing a lot of TCG's would've been a good thing, though.

Welp, I'm also in this week Steam test.

I'm reading the email and I find it weird that I don't see anything about the privacy settings on steam. Don't know if I'm missing something, but if my friends get a notification of the game I'm playing, wouldn't it be against the NDA?

Add me to that club. Another person who hasn't heard anything since TCG which I could not participate in. Looking forward to some news (hopefully for PS3/PS4) since it has been quiet. I'm still very excited to participate

TCG email? I've had one single email from weeks ago saying they've received my application. Nothing since. Read here to that people should send a dxdiag file, did that, still nothing.

Yeah, exactly what I was wondering

I got in as well, and that was the first thing I thought of after reading the email. I'd imagine it'd show up like "KnightHart is now playing ______ " Where the _____ is just blank. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

They won't which is why you need to be online. Speaking to the mods about it doesn't mean anything, they are just people like us. The coordinators are aware that the only way to do it is to show yourself online. Even if you didn't show yourself online, when you come back online your friends would still see what you last played.

What they needed to do was call the demo "Project xxxx" as the file name, that is the only way around this.

I just realized I never did the dxdiag, so that would explain not hearing about anything on PC. Make sure you remember that. lol

Well I had been appearing offline because I swear either by email or in Skype someone said to, to avoid people seeing what you're on.

But then I realised the XBL mod probably wouldn't be able to clock me in so I unhid part way through last test. I then get a message asking when I started because for them I'd only just come online. I probably got counted as absent last test session because I was appearing offline for all of it.

Asking a bunch of random forum goers on a site known for industry leaks to keep NDAs for materials they can take home and not post info anonymously online seems like a bad idea

EDIT: I just feel like someone is going to get a "PM" from someone or a twitter post or whatever

Already happened for one of the last tests. And that sucks - one of the reasons why we can't have nice things.

True, but that was quickly taken care of by other posters. And you don't hear about it anymore, I also don't see anything about this in other topics I read.

When doing these kinds of projects you need to place some trust in the people that work for you. Breaking the NDA can be appealing but it's simply not worth it, for countless of reasons, for the vast majority.

Not actually that important
Hey Simon/Matthew/VMC I've just got the new NDA Addendum and I was wondering,
Can I still just print it, sign it and then send it via FAX like last time? Because I had a few problems with Echosign before and this time the email only mention the Echosign method instead of both. So yeah, can I reach you through the usual fax's number or is it mandatory that I use Echosign this time?

I'm scheduled for the upcoming XOne test btw.

Did you try it this time with EchoSign? They revamped it since last time, this time you only need to click accept and place a signature if you want (thank Nintendo for the WiiU gamepad :p ).

Last time I did it via e-mail, but this time via EchoSign. Didn't even need to sign-up, just click the link and you're ready to go.

It's literally 3 clicks. It's so much easier than it was.

Make sure you guys read through it.

Just signed the new NDA. That is some serious shit. I don't want to see someone fuck it up and get in a mess of trouble. Don't be stupid guys.

As others have mentioned, it's super easy now. Just a couple clicks and it's all obvious. Before this change it certainly was confusing, you're right, but not anymore.

Indeed, just read and signed mine, definately highlights how serious they are taking NDA's - which they need to, to protect their income stream, if their testers cant be trusted to adhere to NDA's, companies wont use them - so in interests of all to do as they ask.

Look forward to the testing when selected

Couldn't believe the difference is signing this time - took 10 seconds (after reading of course).

I completed and sent off the survey a week ago.

Haven't heard anything since. Not even a confirmation E-Mail to say they received my survey. Do you even get a confirm E-mail?
