They actually sped up BBCP, which in turn the netcode took a hit..

Yeah, but BB still moves slower than Persona. I'm a slightly-better-than scrub tier Noel, but in P4A I'm reduced to button mashing to victory. Granted, I've only been playing the game for a few days, but I find even the most basic of Yukiko combos to be impossible to get out.

Just need more pratice, I guess. I can see P4 being a funner game in the long run, though.

Elena's entire background makes little sense. She's what, a Kenyan girl studying in France who practices a Brazillian martial art. It's like her and Sean's profiles got flipped so that they didn't offend anyone with the black people = basketball stereotype.

Yeah with Elena it makes no sense.

Japanese-Brazilians are actually pretty common in parts of Brazil (of course most of them don't look like Sean).

Yeah, Japanese-Brazilians are fairly common. Also capoeira isn't strictly Brazilian. It has earlier origins in Africa (specifically Angola, which is why the two primary styles of capoeira are regional and angola).

I want to go to CEO to try to get a theme song and entrance for top 8 but it's probably too close to MLG to go to both. Super emo I was one hit away from top 8 last year in Injustice and MK had no entrances.

Does Korea even have Nesica?

I dunno. Is that required for the cab to work? I thought that maybe someone could have imported a few machines for funsies.

I'm gonna be in Korea in a bit, but if I had realized that USF4 was already out in arcades in Japan, I might have decided to go to Japan instead.

When does Injustice registration even open up for MLG Anaheim?

And my terror continues today in ssf4. Went 25 and 3 against a lobby, get rekt m8. Getting better at bulldoging, I could use some grappler experience since I have to respect that wakeup more than usual and play more footsies, which isn't a strong suit for duds.

Why does it exist? Because it must!

Oddly enough, I just started playing P4A using Yukiko...

On a related note, is it me, or is it a harder game to pick up than BB? I think it's the speed that's killing me, BB tends to be a bit more plodding in terms of battle speed. Also, the battle system isn't as intuitive (at least for me).

Oh, and fuck Teddie.

BB's a lot harder. P4A there's a lot less stuff I have to worry about imo.

Melee and Project M are higher? Not really surprised though with Smash coming out during the summer and winter so people are dusting off their gamecube controllers and preparing for the best/worst year ever.

Marvel in Florida isn't that popular as Melee and SF, those two are popping down there.

Eh BB is the harder game to pick up imo(I would even say the learning curve for getting into BB is steeper than GG). The mechanics in P4A are so simplified/watered down and the match ups are a lot more straight forward compared to BB.
P4A is definitely a faster paced game by nature though due to the shorter and damaging combos.

Dee Jay's best wake up is EX machine gun. It's -5 on block and pushes opponent out far. If your character don't have a long range 5f or faster attack to punish him, Dee Jay is pretty safe on wake up with meter.

so i need something that would be active by the 5th frame right?

I am glad the casuals area of EVO will improve. It's always super hard to get games there. I don't think I've played a game of casuals at EVO outside hotel rooms in like 4 years.

Question:

someone asks you to help them learn. You notice you can do something and they fall for it every single time. Should you keep doing it, should you act "normally" (do it as much as you normally would or a bit less), or should you not do it so they can learn the other stuff. If you keep doing it you can win easy every time but they won't learn much and it might skew them in the matchup which won't help them.

Ran into this today- want to see what you think is best for teaching someone. (In a tourney, I'd grab grab grab grab grab of course, but this isn't tourney)

I'm assuming you're telling them how to counter it? Regardless, keep doing it until they give you a reason to stop.

Spam it until they learn. If he dies.. Then he dies.

Keep doing it but tell them and explain how to beat it.

Straight up tell them how you're winning. If the goal is to teach then tell them what they are not seeing. You don't have to say it directly, give hints if you want that person to think more critically of matches.

There's no reason to stop, but are you talking to the other player at all? Is he asking you why you're doing it, or how to beat it?

Explaining it now. Seems to be some sort of mental block on their part- so I guess it's something they have to struggle with.

I have plenty of those myself- I play like a neurotic mess sometimes.

Some of the reason I grab so much is due to deficiencies in my only own play with this character (which is why I'm trying to learn real grapplers for Ultra)

If only T.Hawk was a waifu so I could continue my waifu thief gimmick... ^_^

Imagining "HEAVEN OR HELL" with the SSF4/Tager announcer now. oh man.

No, with the vanilla announcer.

As everyone else said, do it until they learn to counter. Just like in a real match. If they can't counter, you keep doing it.

It's not as if the rest of the world isn't going to play this way, so he might as well train to plug the holes in his game.

Today and tomorrow are actually amazing days for

I got a 25 win streak on someone and it felt bad. What you can do is keep on doing it and if they don't get it the first couple of times, tell them how they can prevent it.

A lot of people don't realize how difficult it is to pick up a fighting game from scratch while some of us have been playing it since our childhood.

If this person wants to get better and learn, tell them to put in the hours when you are not teaching him/her.

I really feel like we've discussed DeeJay for more than we should.

That he'll be in low tier forever?
I had too....
