Naruto UNS Revolution to 'attract hardcore fighting game audience'

According to CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, the focus is on attracting core fighters.

"Of course we have refined the battle system over the years. But for Revolution, we have totally changed the battle system," Matsuyama said. "In order to create such a new battle system, we asked for support from other development company staff who are fighting game experts, like Street Fighter or King of Fighters."

"We'd like to make our battle system more sophisticated and more enjoyable," Matsuyama explained to us, adding that the eventual goal is to bring the game to tournaments like EVO. "Because we're Bandai Namco Games, then we can get Harada-san from Tekken to promote both games," he joked.

Guess the (negative) feedback from JoJo must've shook up CC2 a bit.

CC2 nails presentation but man they suck at the combat parts, is there even anybody who plays the Naruto games competively?

As long as the game has no unique combos and combinations for every character this will never happen.

I'd much preffer a Naruto game with 20 unique characters than the current one with like 90 where all are played the same

Doubtful, man the problem with these games is that, if you are caught with the manga. You just want to play as the characters with the new movements and developments.

Oooh. Sounds cool. But as it stands, all of the techniques are pretty simple and yield more or less the same result... Also there is no balance at all.

No, the problem with the games is that they're extremely simplistic with little balance of which to speak. I wouldn't care if it were stuck in part 1 if the games had solid gameplay.

It's a shame the Wii EX iterations were turd. :(

Even more a shame that Tomy lost the license to Bamco and thus 8ing had no choice but to close up shop. And just when it seemed like they were on their way to righting the ship.

I was doing just fine with 8ing's Kamen Rider Climax Heroes for the last few years, but it seems that series is dead now, too, with the Musou-like Battride Wars taking over.

Battride Wars is cool, but I was really hoping 8ing would continue making more KR fighters by the time they finally made a PS3 game in that series...

Sweet! Main reason I don't buy them is because of the lack of depth. Any step in that direction is a good step in my opinion. I don't see the problem here.

What 8ing must do is stop fucking around and make new Bloody Roar.
