Sol..

I am Wayne Brady.
I know this is an old post and I've only just started watching, but more than Veep I'd say it's even closer to Better Off Ted. Reminds me quite a bit of it.

I don't quite agree. All 3 shows kind of have the same type of satire but Veep and SA is kind of dry while BOT is really upbeat and over the top.

He couldn't incorporate under a different name if he wanted to be able to open the account he needed to cash his check.

Anyway, last night's episode was fantastic. That vision quest was some of the funniest shit I've probably seen on TV.

Dammit, you're right. (It would be easier to get a new check, though...)

I laughed so much when they all started repeating their names. This show's pretty good. I didn't have much hope for it, but it's coming along nicely.

Yeah that cracked me up more than anything.

Just caught up to this thanks to HBO GO, I was sort of so so on the first episode but I think the show has gotten better with every episode. Definitely in on this going forward.

I'm also with others in the thread, I love T.J. Miller in just about everything he's done but so far I'm not really feeling his character. Honestly I think I'd like his character more if they somehow just made him more of an idiot asshole. He's definitely an idiot and an asshole now but he seems too reasonable some times. I think I'd like the character more if he was somehow more cartoonish.

It's really not easy to not compare this to Amazon's Betas after watching that show. The tone is a lot dryer, but improving. I'll keep watching.

Watched the first couple episodes. Didn't like it at all. As with the later seasons of King of the Hill and that other show he did (I forget its name) none of the characters are likable or funny and the whole tone is very mean-spirited.

New episode tonight:
Fiduciary Duties

While at a party, Richard promises to make Erlich a board member; Big Head finds others who have made careers out of doing nothing; Richard struggles to put Pied Piper's vision into words.

I really like the lead character. He's portrayal is very realistic and reminds me of a couple I know in the industry.

I loved how he developed the sesame seed research.

So did I. You could just leave the guy being some really strange and crazy dude, but they showed how his brain works which has led him to be able to make these investments that made him the super rich man that he is.

I really enjoyed it. He's crazy, but he's crazy smart.

EDIT

I like the friends, but the lead is annoying to me. He reminds me of a geekier Seth Meyers.

Ok, I like the show, but...

This episode is mind-numbingly stupid.

Like, they literally can't afford to have another episode this awful...

EDIT: Although Jared has quickly become the best character on the show.

The lead character sucks in this show. Not likable at all and not funny whereas the rest of the cast is. Really makes it hard to root for the guy.

He was my biggest problem with this episode, which is strange since I usually like him. His naivete was cute in the first episode, now he's just annoying, because it's gotten to the point where you can consistently count on him to shoot himself in the foot.

I think it may have been smarter to make him either very naive or very socially awkward. Doing both is a little much.

I have to drop this. I just don't like the majority of what they're focusing on. Erlich, Richard and Big Head are dweebs. And not the likable or relatable kind of nerds that you can root for. They're just an uninteresting group of people.

I can't even hate watch this like I can with Girls. So I'm out.

This series is very, very accurate in terms of the types of people and engineers in the industry and in the valley. I just don't know if it's funny enough. It's interesting to see "characters" that I can identify against real people that I know!

I'm really warming up to this show. Though everyone's complaints about the main character getting a little tiring are pretty spot on.

I like that for as much of an uber douche Erlich is, he has moments of legitimacy and clairvoyance. As noticed when he gave Richard his blessing to give up the 10 million and
showed up to the meeting even if he had to sit quietly.

Here's hoping that we see more development of Richard actually becoming a leader, or an asshole as Erlich would say. Though I'm not too worried as it seems to be the route they're taking.

Another solid episode. The paid party guests scene was stomach turning. I've never experienced anything like that but the concept is sad.

he grew a bit when getting the company name, you cant expect big character changes especially when the timeframe between episodes them seems to be small.

Erlich is a douche and Richard is awkward but both have shown brief glimpses of potential. Let the characters grow with time.

Yeah, the lead guy is easily my biggest issue with the show, I feel like I've seen that character a million times and they're not really doing anything interesting or funny with him. Happy that I'm one of the people who actually likes Erlich, if I thought he was annoying too I might have been done with the show by now.

Martin Starr's still being criminally underused, but him and the other guys I didn't mention do a great job with what they get.

That crack of amusement when Erlich said his statement of purpose from the big boss was so good.

Found the end credits song if anyone wants to know.

I've listened to it probably 3 times now. Great song.
If you like that, you should listen to some of Black Moth Super Rainbow's earlier (if you haven't). Tobacco's fine, but there's something special about BMSP.

Man, I'm feeling really sorry for Jared. He's like a loveable version of Sheldon, so adorably dorky and empathy-inducing. I hope something awesome happens to him (like picking up Gregory's assistant).

Good episode, I enjoyed it :) Only bit I didn't really dig was
Richard losing his shit in the toilet and washing his pants. That struck me as a little *too* bizarre (but maybe it's normal in panicky situations?
