My monitor only supports DVI & D-Sub and I'm using HDMI-DVI cable. In 1.62 I was just able to choose 480p, after installing 1.70 the 720p is also available and this is the best part of the update for me

my friends list is so fucked up now. Most of the time it doesn't even load
Same it's having some real issues with party chats and loading friends lists

So ShareFactory doesn't allow you to upload videos fron multiplayer or what? I was doing a montage of Battlefield 4 Conquer mode and it says I cannot generate the video or something.
What hackjob? They gave the option to disable HDCP, so it is up to the user to toggle that preference if they please.
Im sure vendors out there don't want people to use their applications without HDCP on, so to use those, you surely must re-enable HDCP no? So the user has to go toggle it, which they can.

I have the Pulse Elite and I think it works if you turn it on after you start remote play. Then again I usually don't use the headset when I'm playing off the Vita. I am 100% sure however that remote play works if you have the USB plugged in and the headset off, since I always leave it plugged in.

Or you know, the system could automatically detect and turn HDCP on and off depending on the application being used.
Its implementation is pretty half assed.

Exactly. There is no reason for HDCP to ever be on when playing games. It should simply default to off for any gameplay, and then on for everything else. The Xbox 360 had this right years ago, and it's kind of amazing the PS4 even launched with this problem. Now they've offered a "fix", but it's handled poorly.

So when you hit the share button and then "save video", what is it exactly saving, last 15 minutes?
Were they not there before?
I didn't play ghosts but Mercenary Kings has crashed on me quite a bit. I might go back to it and see if the frequency of crashes increases.
Nice update. I have been on my PS4 a little less since I have so much to play on PS3 after a flash sale among other things
Yeah, I'm pretty sure, unless you change the default record time.

Its a dropdown.
Ghosts would freeze on me and I would have to manually close it. This happened once every three weeks maybe. But now it spits me right out to the bug report page and has happened 5 times today, 2 within the last half hour.

About that, I haven't yet brought my PS3 US account to PS4, and I was wondering if I have two accounts on the system, do I have to choose the user every time when reconnecting the controller? I'd like to set the US account just so I can download the free Infamous soundtrack, as Sony didn't deem the European customers worthy enough of gratitude for showing support for the game, and it isn't even available to buy here. =/

There's a few observations I have noticed with this firmware update I have experienced.
There is more changes, officially stated and otherwise but this is what I have found, I am really happy with this update
- The background waves no longer has any aliasing, I noticed it before the update so I know it has been improved (I'll see if I have a photo that demonstrated pre-1.70 background aliasing)
- Booting from standby used to take about 10 seconds or more, never timed it but it wasn't much quicker than from cold boot. After installing 1.70 it boots up from standby within 2 seconds or so; much quicker for me EDIT: I just booted it up from standby and it took the same amount of time as of before, I had tested earlier when it was downloading Stick it to the Man in the background, hence why it would load so quickly. False alarm
- The homescreen's game icons initially load up much faster, and scrolling left to right is much smoother, quicker and the icons don't need to reload as it used to before the update
- When I use the voice commands, I can say Netflix It was in the TV section so I could only get to TV and then have to use the controller to select the App itself. Unless I'm mistaken though and I don't know the commands, I can't browse Netflix with my voice (yet : Note to Sony watching - this is definitely something I want and would use)
There is more changes, officially stated and otherwise but this is what I have found, I am really happy with this update

I just tried to do this. It did change my profile pic, but only when you click on my profile. It didn't change my avatar at all!

Copying to a flash drive is slow as balls. Definitely getting less than 1MB/s.
A few people around here have stated that it won't. It honestly doesn't even get that much dimmer anyways.
Whatever increment you set. I tried it earlier today, I set it at "1 minute", started a manual recording and after one minute I got a message which was something like: "Your video has been saved."

I might be crazy but I unplugged my ps4 because I'm moving to a new place and after disconnecting all wires, when I press the power and eject buttons it still beeps...

I'm not sure, but I believe it works like this:
- Profile Picture is seen by your 'real friends' (e.g. real name request), but not by other normal friends/strangers.
- Avatar is seen by both 'real friends' and nomal friends/strangers.
Yeah, it's done that to me too. Just a little extra power left. It doesn't last long.
You couldn't change it before this update as far as I know.
To change default video record time:
Tap share button, hit options to get to share settings,select share settings, go to video clip settings and then length of video clip to change the length of recordings. At least that is how I do it. There might be a faster way to get there but it literally takes about 5 seconds.
EDIT: I said tap share button but that is because I was using standard settings. If you use the setting to take easy screenshots you need to hold the share button. You want to enter the share menu as the first step
It seems like HDMI-CEC support is also improved. I haven't tried many buttons, but for my TV at least, I couldn't press the stop button on my remote to stop playing a DVD, but now with 1.70 it does work. Perhaps more HDMI-CEC features were added? I remember them not working so well in the Netflix app, do they now?
