Meh. Nothing to get upset over. It is Sony France and not US or Japan.... or even the UK.

I guess the person who tweeted it forgets the PS3 price drops and the dropping of BC and usb ports etc ad their responce.

Also...

Haw haw haw -twirls moustache-

If it saves people even more money what's the big deal? If you didn't have $400, then you're in luck.

It's still $400. See nothing

I am blind

I really don't see the relevancy with that tweet. If anything, just shows more arrogance than anything to me. I like what Sony's doing with the PS4, but I really dislike how they (or their PR team) can appear as very childish/immature sometimes.

lol what? You have a tweet from the French branch of Sony probably being run by some intern and that tweet now represents all of Sony?

How so? That twitter post was extremelly arrogant, specially considering the rest of the company is crumbling down.

" nothing to lose, everything to gain. #Fortheplayers "

Or

"Been $399. Fortheplayers" caption over a PS4

That's all they have to say.

*shrugs* I was expecting something interesting, but it's just a troll-ish tweet. Good grief, what an outstanding new.

Moving on to better topics.

I'm French and to be honest, some Sony fanboys, no matter their actual nationality, are so full of hatred towards any other platform (Xbox One, Wii U or PC), it's absurd how much they love to troll when they get the chance.

Fixed.

All the fanboys are immature. Don't act like one is worst than others. All comment sections @ jeuxvideo.com, gamekult, gameblog etc are full of idiots.

Man the salt in this thread is something else.

I don't get what's arrogant? them "staying the same"? or the smiley face? or the hashtag? maybe they all come together in a way that's super clever and arrogant that I can't seem to see?

someone pls explain.

Having a dig when one wasn't needed isn't very classy. Comes off as arrogant. Like they have already won this gen. Which is far from the truth, Ultimately games will decide the generation Sony just had the stronger foot out the gate.

The PS4 isn't problem free, The UI isn't great. The first party line up is untested and the current releases like Killzone and Infamous are solid but feel like retreads, nothing ground breaking from either graphics aside.

MS have done a much better job than Sony at trying to better the console since launch. Monthly Update, Today's announcements. Fan feedback. Sony are quick to forget the shortcomings the PS3 had at launch when they are back on top.

They're making fun of MS, who just announced a brave move, after carefully listening to consumer feedback and taking the right decision, even if that means sacrificing their vision, which most people weren't apparently ready for because they hate the future or something.
It's outrageous, really.

As far as Sony France is concerned, yeah no.
there's really nothing short of a blowjob machine that could make MSFT offer more attractive to the French market than Sony's offer.
Seriously they could go full Ahole and kill a kitten a day people would still not consider MSFT offer here, Sony have effectively won already there.
Now the situation in NA/UK is really different.

See, I'm not exactly sure about the whole "France hates MS" thing, because when you actually look at numbers, the 360 did pretty well. Especially considering how hard the first XB tanked. It's by far MS's best european market after the UK. Well last gen anyway.

It's not that France hates MS, it's that they clearly prefer the alternatives.
Ps3 did really good there (even before any price drop) and it's one of Nintendo's strongest market too (Seriously Iwata even commented on the French anomaly in one financial Q&A because WiiU was selling way less horribly there than everywhere else).
Again I'm not saying that the xbone will be a wash (although there's a clear problem of overshipment I'd say looking around), I'm saying that Sony has it in the bag.
If the early ps3 wasn't enough to disgust French gamers, nothing Sony can do will get them to shun the ps4.

Sony: We're been barely selling in a month what the competition does in a quarter. We need to pricecut!

I've already said this in the price cut thread: if I were high up at Sony I'd want to have the PS4's installed userbase twice that of the Xbox One ASAP. If Sony follow suit and drop the price by a small amount, just $50, that would effectively kill off the Xbox One this generation. They would of course need to up production, but having a 'must own' item that's difficult to get hold of does build up a certain amount of hype.

Microsoft have gone from having a less powerful machine for sale for more money to a less powerful machine for the same amount of money, a $50 price cut would return the status quo back to the way things were and be a good business decision imo.

a $50 price cut does little good until they are able to manufacturer enough consoles to fully meet demand. So a fall price cut is foreseeable.

BUT the first party studios ARE tested. PS4 owners also have nothing to be worried about in terms of Sony going the full distance with the PS4. MS have started strong before before sitting behind the same stuff, who is to say it wont happen again?

At the end of the day, it is still the stronger console and the gap wont decrease.

No, another example I'm referring to is the video of Sony execs showing how they trade games on the PS4. Never thought that was necessary and again, a childish video. Don't get me wrong though, the console represents everything that a gamer would want in a gaming system, but just don't like the typical Sony antics.

That video was harmless fun. I swear some people take this so personally.

No it was absolutely necessary actually, it showed in a simple form removing any doubt how it worked for them without having gaming journalists going with the whole 'they don't tell you everything, they're the same as MSFT' narrative journalists were pushing.
Seriously that video was brillant on many level and worked very effectively for its purpose.
Seriously we had Sony going all "We're not doing it" and we had some publications that were actually obfuscating the issue when the truth was so very simple.

Yeah, like PC, Xbox, and Nintendo fanboys are any different. All fanboys are the same.

Yup, that's why I said they need to up production...but even if they do that it will still be difficult to pick one up - but that isn't necessarily unhealthy for a retail item in demand. There are some conspiracy theorists that believe that the Wii shortage last generation was manufactured.

I'm also beginning to wonder just how many Xbox Ones are actually in homes now. For a price cut/SKU change this early things might be worse than a lot of people thought. I personally was guesstimating 4.2m but, who knows..? It might have not topped even 4m yet. :Oo

Yeah take that Sony France Twitter account holder to the guillotine! Louis XVI style.

It's...You know...Just a tweet.. A very bad one, but it's not representative of the rest of the company.
But whatever, if Sony Kazakhstan posts something like this then I'm pretty sure it really means that Arrogant Sony™ is back.

Man on a second thought that tweet is really bad.

There's dumb people saying shitty things everywhere, if we give them the time of day might as well discuss with people claiming that math is from Satan or something.

That video was amazing.

Actually they removed the eye camera thingy to make the PS4 $399.

And if i had to chose between 2 shitty things, I'd take a shitty Kinect over Webcam.
Please provide proof that Sony removed the Playstation camera.

Those people are probably right about math though lol

This.
Playstation community is becoming really silly here.

Bullshit. I frequently post on french videogames website, and the most ellitist, arrogant and dismissive cast HAS to be the Nintendo fanbase.
My proof : The same site you used : Talesfrommyass.fr

Open a dictionnary and look under A, for arrogant. The explanation might come as a surprise...

God, the amount of salt and the smell of hurt feelings over a harmless PR jab at a competitor...You would think they insulted some of you!
