Do you play multiplayer? Because while I personally didn't care for the campaign, Halo 4's multiplayer is straight up THE reason I bought a PS4 6 months ago.
You don't need to have a console to be a fanboy. That's like saying "I have both consoles I'm not biased!1!!1!!"

You already have your mind set that it's a bad game and even if he presented good reasons you'll just scoff at them and write them off as "silly". It's impossible to have a conversation with someone who preemptively decided any sort of defense for the game is "silly".

Woah...I've put maybe 25 hours max into any Halo campaign and I like them quite a bit. Say 8 hours per runthrough, usually play them at most twice and then intermittently, perhaps splitscreen with friends. What do you do for 500 hours?

I dont think halo 4 is a bad game, i think it's a horrible halo game, and I can easily list several reasons why, but it's far from a poor game. I've just yet to be convinced into a single thing that halo 4 has done better than any other halo game to date.

There is no way I would trust him to be unbiased in any of his leaks. The only leaks I really remember of his were before the launch of the X1 where he claimed that the entire OS was falling apart and there would still be problems after launch. That never panned out.

The one thing I think 343 really fucked up were the custom games. Bloody awful.
I take back what I said about Halo 4 being the worst Halo. Reach is the worst, still one of my favourite games though :3

Lots and lots of Co-op and I never get bored of running a few Legendary Levels on Halo CE. I am a huge Halo CE fan, the gameplay has never bored me, so for the past decade plus, I have always gone back to the Campaign to mess around and enjoy it. Also, lots of goofy stuff to do with blowing Warthogs up with nades, etc, etc.
I can fire up a level or two of Halo CE on Legendary and have a blast every time, solo or co-op.
When you have a game that has decent atmosphere, and a story that hits the right points with people, no matter how bad it is people

2's campaign wasn't finished, even Bungie will tell you that. High Charity was pretty rough. If they (Saber/Certain Affinity/343) could go back and clean up the campaign with unfinished missions, it could possibly save that campaign.
I barely played Halo 2's campaign but I do remember it being boring. Can someone explain why the campaign was bad?

I'm one of the few who liked it, seeing the fight from another perspective. Sure it could've been better but for me it was, without a doubt, better than Reach
if Reach didn't contradict some of the cannon when it came out I'd have probably liked it more
You know I'm going to put ODST on par with 2. The campaign was something completely new and fresh while fitting perfectly within the franchise, imo.
Now this is something I can agree on.

Thuway being Thuway, that actually seemed like one of the better things he said, the bar is low though. Parrott needs a holiday and some rum on a desert island for a while.
If the press know everything, something would have spilt by now.
When it comes to Microsoft news (not news of third party games on Microsoft consoles, but Microsoft itself), my backside is as reliable as he is, until he goes out on a limb and gets something completely left of the field correct. But he won't, because he can't talk about it...!
Back on topic, playing through Halo 4 at the moment and I love it, can't wait for Guardians.

Halo 2 is the only Halo that I never played the campaign more than once. I think that it has the same pit falls as Halo 4, sacrificing gameplay and huge encounters for amazing graphics.
However, switching from Xbox to 360 yielded the double scarab moment. If 343i does something similar, I'll be one happy gamer.
That seems to be an odd reason. To me at least.

I'm the same. I don't think I'll ever get tired of Halo CE. I always have to play a couple of levels (at least) every few weeks. So good.
Are we ranking the games again? Heh, Halo threads never change. OK:
Campaign: Halo 1 > Halo 3 > Reach > ODST > Halo 2 > Halo 4
Multiplayer: Halo 1 > Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Reach > Halo 4
Pretty much just that. It was boring, with ultra linear levels, bad AI, aimbot jack snipers (seriously the worst part of the game), and very little substance. You could do a lot better if you could only get one Halo game, or really game at all, for the rest of your life.
Multiplayer was great fun though.

i got 99 weekly challenges in a row in reach from launch till i stopped.
that was numerous mythic runs of the game.

as for multiplayer, it got bad with reach but SO MUCH WORSE with 4. couldn't stand it
went from playing hours a night on 2 and 3, to enough to do the weekly with reach. to 12 matches at best in 4.

Halo was the reason I owned an original Xbox and 360. I put thousands of hours into the games. I saved up for a year to buy a 360 in 2007 for Halo 3. Reach was pretty bad but we (myself and gaffers) played literally every night.
Halo 4 came out and I bought the $100 LE. Complete reversal from what made the original series so great. Last time I played it was sometime last fall. Halo's basically the only Microsoft IP I care about. So in my eyes yeah, Halo 4 was and is an absolute disaster.

High Charity's probably my favorite level. I probably liked Halo 2 far more than I should, on sole account of the soundtrack. Best video game soundtrack ever.

I did really enjoy the campaign, the things they changed in halo made for a worse multiplayer but a better campaign BUT it had 2 levels or so in a row that sucked all the fun right back out of it for me and with online being how it was. I was DONE with that game.
I should make a video with my anger but nobody wants that....
I actually agree with this.
Ghosts is an abomination, by far the worst CoD I've played, but it's still a Call of Duty game.
