Forza Horizon 2 announced (360, Xbox One), releasing this fall

Driveclub's coming out on a platform that was touted to be rather powerful/capable; we all know the XOne isn't so expectations are different.

30fps are never preferable but really, it's the XOne, you gotta be a fool expecting more from that machine.
Are we still doing this thing where we pretend that there's some sort of huge generational gap between PS4 and Xbox One?

Does anyone even mind if they drop 360 support? We've had that generation for 8 years already, I don't think people would be too torn up about it.

There are entire populations where the system isn't even out for them. So if that means MS or Sony back up those older systems with games that is great.

People really hate crossgen, huh? Im excited for the game. More people will get to play it it now is all. And I'll get to play the best version of it. I don't see what's to hate.

It´s because we will never know if it couldn´t have been better if it hadn´t been designed with last gen in mind.

So has there been any speculation on where the new location will be. Fictional Colorado in FH1 was amazing.

How the heck are they going to best that topographical diversity?

The fact that its' being built on the Forza 5 engine should tell you something. That fact that it's a different dev team on 360 makes me think they're working with the original FH engine, and porting stuff over to that.

I honestly don't believe this game is going to look any worse for having a 360 version.

Couldn't the same be said for Sony too?

Overall, as long as a huge portion of sales come from current gen version (a la Watchdogs) then I don't see how First Party support of both consoles will make a difference.

Even though Forza Horizon 2 is of a more casual/mainstream nature than Motorsport, the game won't appeal to as many people as Motorsport did anyway. I view it in a similar way as Driveclub vs. GT. Driveclub is the more casual game but GT will appeal to more people since the series has been around longer and is a more noteworthy release.

So yeah, I don't think Forza Horizon 2 coming out to the Xbox 360 will greatly hurt people who want to buy an XB1 for Forza Horizon 2. The game is pretty niche so many weren't going to buy an XB1 just to play the game anyway.

How many PS3 first party titles have been release on both so far apart from MLB

XB1 - Lococycle, Zoo Tycoon and now Forza Horizon 2.

OT - Looking like a TF situation which there was quite a big difference between the two. XB1 had higher framerate to a degree, better textures, shadows, lighting, effects, higher res probably more.

Still I don't get why they would do it expect maybe it was targeted for X360 first? but was scrapped early on seeing as they haven't had a big exclusive for the X360 in a while (I guess you can count Gears:J)

What Sony first party game is Cross-Gen? Everything I know of is PS4 only with Shu announcing that all First party studios have moved over to PS4. It is a little strange to release a 360 version of Horizon 2.

FPS will probably be exactly the same but yeah the XBO version will look alot better. I wonder if they will get Bluepoint to do the 360 version since TF came out so well.

What current-gen, 1st party PS4 game is Sony down-porting to PS3? I can't think of one. Order, KZ, Knack, DC, PS2, everything is current-gen. I think you're confusing HD-remasters with current-gen titles.

Edit: Beaten by microseconds.

Lol way to exaggerate. Generational? No. Significant? Yes.

Case in point: see all multi-plat games on the One that needed to be pared down in res or fps.

Man this is sad. While XB1's fall lineup continues to grow and expand, PS4's only weakens.

Nice to see Microsoft is truly dedicated to truly delivering on giving gamers consistent quality content.

Sony needs to step its game up.

So will Forza Horizon 2 receive the same hate Driveclub got if it's 30fps or is 30fps ok now?

People already know and expect a Forza Horizon game to be 30fps. In fact, I think 60fps would be a surprise.

(I'm ok with DC and FH2 being 30fps)

Lock it solid and give me great IQ in that full open world.

Its a port down from the X1 version with a different team similar to Respawn/Bluepoint. FH2 is built from F5 base.

My guess would be that FH2 on 360 would be built on a variation of the FH1/Forza 4 engine, rather than porting the Xbox 1 version down to 360 and then working on it.

This is exciting news! If it's done properly, I'd totally go for an XBO- I loved Horizon. Played the hell out of it a couple weeks back and I was completely entranced. Although some of the festival rivals were a bit hilarious!

But YES! Designed specifically for the console, with that trigger feedback with dynamic weather?!

Mmmhmmmm.

Sure, but there is always that feeling when I play Titanfall...

Maybe the low player count is the 360s fault? Maybe more would have been better - and maybe the 360 couldn´t handle it, but somebody wanted the 360 version to match the XB1 version at least in this regard?

We´ll probably never know.

Why, whole region is prime driving country. You need a good dosage of some Top Gear!

Mint news that another studio is doing the 360 version. Let playground go crazy with the Xbone

I've seen a couple of episodes. ;)

I just had my heart set on the American South.

Sorry Project Beast beats most of XBO's line up to me. Also this will compete will Driveclub so its going to be interesting to see the graphical comparison between the two.

So southern europe? We expecting Italy? What kinds of weather? I thought that area was mostly warm/semi arid.

Obviously the last gen shackles are a bummer, but the new setting sounds fantastic, and way better than that Colorado crap.

Hopefully there is more to do and interact with in the world. Horizon 1 got painfully boring and repetitive very quickly.

I just view it as them wanting to make money via both consoles.

I mean again, are we really going to put Forza Horizon 2 in the same "system seller" category as Motorsport? Again, Forza Horizon is more niche even though it's of a more casual nature. It's similar to arcade sports games vs. sim sports games or (as I said before) Driveclub vs. Gran Turismo.

In both of those examples, do you think people will be more willing to get a new $400+ console for the first option or the second option? Should be pretty obvious that realistic sim games push more system sales on Xbox and Playstation than their arcade-y counterparts.
