I made some NeoGAF Chrome extensions

Yeah it's been a while since I've looked at the code, wonder what it could be. Might just be Chrome choking on GIFs...

I've switched to Chrome just to use your extension. Thank you for making it.

However, I seem to have an issue with the Super Ignore options. Despite having the options enabled, I am still seeing threads by ignored users as well as posts with quotes of posts made by ignored users. I have removed and reinstalled the latest version of the extension.

While I'm here, I'm wondering if there would be a way to disable to alternating background shading which the posts have now. At present, it's possible to tell that there is a removed post on the basis of two consecutive posts having the same background color.

Thanks again.

Hi.

The newest Chrome update appears to have rendered Super Ignore undone. I now have messages showing that ignored users have posts in threads.

The other Super Ignore options continue to not apparently work as well.

I have this issue after removing and reinstalling the extension.

Thanks.

Hey Andrex, I've been using the Animal Crossing music plugin for quite a while now. With the release of New Leaf have you thought of updating the plugin with New Leaf hourly music to join the GCN/DS pool? I'm sure more people than me would appreciate it!

That sucks, thanks for letting me know. I'll try to get a fix out soon (if I don't, kick me in the head or bump this thread again.)

It's on my list... I'd personally like to listen to it too. :)

Any progress on the Super Ignore fixes, Andrex? Started using NeoGAF++ the other day and it's great, but I can still see it when people quote people I have on ignore.

A bit of a dual-extension issue, so I'll post this in the other's thread too, but I'm having a conflict between NeoGAF++'s super-ignore and Live Thread. Whenever it loads/updates, all of the "super-ignored" posts appear/un-vanish at the bottom of the thread, rather than the next post. Any suggestions?

Sounds pretty gnarly. I think LiveThread might be checking the thread list for any posts not there and just adding them back, since it think's they're new posts... Hmm... Maybe I should just display: none on them instead of removing them from the DOM....

Just installed a few of this. Thanks a lot!

That would make a lot of sense, especially as to why it adds them at the bottom.

I installed NeoGaf Messages and it doesn't give me any sort of an indication that it is working. I used to get popups when new messages would come in, but that no longer appears to be the case.

Messages is indeed broken currently. I need to work on getting it integrated into NeoGAF++.

I wish Quick Reply worked consistently. It does in this thread, but not for most. Super Ignore doesn't always work either. Might as well disable the extension it at this point. :(

EDIT: Smilies doesn't work at all either. I'm a sad panda.

Quick Reply works very consistently for me. What about it doesn't work for you?

Hey Andrex, do you you think you will ever add more features to this extension? With a name like NeoGAF++, this could become the definitive extension for GAF if it were beefed up beyond just Quick Reply and Super Ignore.

Adding keyboard shortcuts for certain actions like bolding and italicizing would be a good start. I miss the old NeoGAF keyboard shortcuts extension. Anyone know why it got removed from the Chrome store?

I'm using the Quick Quote, Edit, Reply extension right now, but I'd gladly switch over to your extension if it had the ability to send quotes down to the quick reply box and keyboard shortcuts. I prefer the more native look of yours.

Edit: Looking at the options for NeoGAF++, I now see that you at some point had intended on merging message notifications and the Imgur upload button into the extension. Any plans on doing that still?

Yes, the plan is to merge all the extensions into NeoGAF++. I've given some thought for more functionality like Quick Quote, and keyboard shortcuts for Quick Reply are something I've wanted for a long time now. The biggest issue is time. What I want to do very soon is refactor the code and make integrating that functionality much easier (and also update Super Ignore, which I'm told is broken.) Messages functionality is the next step after that.

After disabling some of my lesser used extensions it looks to be working on every page now.

If you want I can try to isolate which extension it was in conflict with.

That would be very helpful!

Okay, glad to hear it!

Question: I've been using Quick Quote, Edit, and Reply for so long that it wasn't until I was just recently testing your extension that I've used the site's default Quick Edit. I noticed that it just endlessly spins after I save an edit using the default Quick Edit, and after refreshing the page it will show that my edit went through.

Is this a problem that other people are having when using stock NeoGAF? I remember this issue cropping up last year when they first did the redesign.

One feature I've always wanted is a way to jump to the last post of a thread from search results (eg: 'Your Posts'). So whenever I see some new posts from a search result of a thread I may be curious about I have to click on the thread, then 'View unread posts'.

Being able to click the gold GAF icon next to the title (like one can in the regular forum view) would save an extra step.

I should probably PM Timan or someone about it.

Confirming the new Chrome update (v35.0.1916.114 m) breaks ACM on both Vista and Win7. Here are some things I've learned from troubleshooting:

- Music files are being read correctly from the folders (none are corrupted)
- Audio does play when pointing directly to a file

It seems to be a problem with getting Local Storage file locations to go from the options.html file to the extension.js file.

Gaahhh, meant to update this. OK. New priority for tonight! Thank you.

I also need to badly update the OP.

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
A question about Super Ignore: can I turn off the aspect which hide ignored user's quotes? Sometimes it's important to know why a discussion has gone in the direction it has, and it may have to do with someone I've ignored.

It might be the error detected at line 42 about the webkitNotifications. Seems that it doesn't work sometimes with the new update?

Thanks man! It'd be great if you could fork the source on GitHub, commit your changes, and then submit a pull request. I'd be happy to put your updates on the CWS if you do so.

Now that I know how to push updates to you on GitHub, Andrex, I'm gonna work on the New Leaf music's quality and push the update whenever I get the looping set for each song (and to take out the villager footsteps/rain heard in the background. These samples were from when the game first came out last June O.O).

Some cool stuff here. I've been using a Youtube embed extension for a few months now and it really makes threads with a lot of videos so much better. Except the ones with videos linked within paragraphs. Those are a bit difficult to follow.

Seems the 2.0_0 update has caused the saving of settings (which game's music is playing, notifications on/off) to no longer register.

I'll look into this sometime.

I'm going to try changing that page to use the same Chrome bootstrap style as my WebM extension for consistency, which will also make the settings sync across Chrome installations.
