The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - E3 2014 Trailer - The Sword Of Destiny

Ok, what the fuck are you talking about.
Geralt looks like a thosand times better. nTriss doesnt look like an NPC prostiture anymore (TW1) and Jaskier looks better with every game that passes.
Foltest and Zoltan also looked much better from TW1 to 2.
No, seriously, please indicate me with screens how was the character art better in the first game. Maybe your preference for beauty is people looking like porcelain dolls or something.
So I should have made it clear it was mainly Geralt and Triss I was talking about instead of saying everybody but I digress. In a perfectly acceptable move to make the models more realistic, CDProjekt went to the extreme end and totally changed some of the characters so much so that they don't even look like their previous counterparts.

How does Geralt look better in TW2? In TW1 he has a perfect balance of his Witcher features and human features. Then comes TW2, where CDP amp up the Witcher features without giving any explanation turning him into a horror story antagonist.

They changed Triss face so much that it might have well been a different character. In 1 she's like a Barbie character, (you made the right comparison of porcelain dolls but wrong assumption) whereas in TW2 she looks overly masculine. CDP knows not balance.

Before any of you go into a tirade on "closer to the books" appearance, Geralt is supposed to be a ladies man which his TW1 appearance essentially is while TW2 Triss is closer to how she looks like in the books. So to cut a long story short, this "Desmond-ing" by CDP is crazy weird.

Watching the trailer again, looks like they've toned down some of the TW2 model exaggerations so I guess it's a step in the right direction...

Nobody can tell for sure, but you'd probably need an upgrade. Just as many other people.

I feel like people are really exagerating with this.
His GPU obviously wont cut it but an i7 and 8 gigs certainly will.
He asked if it was the enough to play the game, not run it in 4k.
They need the game to sell, let's not go crazy here.

just no

TW1 looked almost at all times like they were pushing that crappy engine too much and were barely able to get what they wanted to look right. (wtf is this fur?)

They obviously hired some extremely talented people to design the wardrobe, and everything in the world of in TW2, but I do miss a bit of Geralt's look (opening CGI that is) in TW1 even if the rest looked quite plain and a bit generic compared to the sequel.

Nice modded TW1 Geralt, now let's bring in actual reliable pictures.

Nevermind Triss, how the hell does TW1 Geralt look better again? I fail to see how TW2 Geralt "upped Witcher features at cost of human features" hell, TW2 Geralt looks more "human" than his TW1 counterpart.

Well, that's not how Geralt looked in Witcher 1.. this is how he looked:

And as a reader of the books, i think Triss looks way better in W2 than in W1

Love how he used concept art for Geralt in TW2 instead of an in-game model, nevermind the obviously modded TW1 Geralt pic.

They're all images taken straight from The Witcher Wikia site, and the later is a model of Geralt from the Rise of the White Wolf mod. It's a fairly misleading comparison.

For further and more accurate reference, refer to this page. Wikia's Witcher site has practically been abandoned by its long-term contributers after a spat over Wikia's censorship of sex card-related pages.

EDIT: added clarity.

Yet he's trying to compare Geralt's looks of both games and doesn't even bother to link an in-game TW2 Geralt? What sort of bait/switch crap is that? Hell, by that same logic I can link the alpha version of TW2 Geralt as representation of TW2 Geralt as a whole.

So much more human looking, and glorious tanned skin.

Yeah, and so why use a model from a mod and compare (and complain) to that of normal W2 model?

BTW - right now Geralt in W3 looks too good and too healthy

Well, not only do I now refuse to buy the console version, but the tiny bit of hype I had for E3 was shat on by this trailer. Sorry to say this, but I'm glad it got delayed, more time for them to work on the game and for my cheap ass to save up for some new PC parts.

Thanks for this. I'm curious, how big of a team is CDPR?

They are a bit over 230 Employees.

Seriously, it's like a slipped through a wormhole and wound up in Opposite Land. Witcher 1 has some of the most outstandingly ugly characters I've ever seen in video games, and poor old Geralt is at the head of the pack (OK, maybe Kalkstein takes the W, but Geralt's at least a silver medal contender).

Meanwhile, I had to take like a dozen screenshots of Geralt's face while I was playing through Witcher 2 just because he had such an amazing mug. Look at this gorgeous hunk of man meat:

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Triss is so hot.

All the characters look so much better in TW2 it's not even funny.
And it seems they kept the look, just further improved on it, for TW3, which makes me happy. They look exactly how I imagined them while reading the books, pretty much.

Well, to be clear, Geralt wasn't described in the books like he is some handsome guy.. in the games his getting more and more better looking

This exact reasoning is why we have Geralt as he is now in TW2 rather than his alpha "bronze god" version I linked earlier. Damn I remember those days of debate...

Triss is so hot.

She's also the real bro in the Witcher games. Screw Zoltan and Roche and Dandelion and Iorveth (eugh!). Seriously, she's like a hot bro that also has sex with you. That talk in the elven bath in TW2 put her into the all time great pantheon of characters. She likes you but she also knows you have a ton of baggage with Yennefer and if you want to go after her she has your back 100%.

I think there's going to be some top-tier bitchiness between Triss and Yen in Witcher 3, though. Geralt looks like a beaten man in this gif, and the sass radiating out of Triss is almost tangible:

I guess for people that didn't play the games or read the book it's just a good trailer with nice graphics, but stuff like that scene is so hot that burns.

Still can't believe how good this game looks considering the scale of the world etc. To see an open world game looking this good... I have a PS4 But I'm gonna build a new PC when this comes out and max this game. No more half measures.

Yennifer is the cause of the story, but Triss has been there from day one. Sit down Yen, nobody cares what you do.

Truly a god tier trailer. The hype levels for this game were already at overdrive levels, but Charles Dance voice work pushed things up another level. And Geralt's beard has pushed him onto the top rung of tough bastardry. Just that touch alone has made an already great looking character design infinitely better imo.

I can't stop playing this trailer like, thrice a day.

I'm actually not impatient to play it, just want them to take their sweet time and make this the true masterpiece it is destined to be.

I watched the trailer at 0.13x speed just to soak in all the little Details of the environments. This game(trailer) just oozes atmosphere.

Dude this is nothing remember last year we saw Cyberpunk CGI? CDPR said when the game comes out it will look excatly like it. Super talented and independent studio, what else you need.

If I was a developer I would love to work for them

I'm 99% sure that this game will murder my 770 :/

That said, I really hope that the gameplay will be streamlined and improved. I could never get into Witcher 2 due to the mechanics being too bothersome.

Yeah I remember them saying something like targeting the graphics of the CGI trailer. If they even get close it will be ridiculous. CDPR are crazy talented.

I'm sure a GTX 770 (which incidentally is my GPU as well) will be enough to play this game decently. Almost certainly better than the console counterparts.

My "problem" is: I don't think I want to settle for that. If this ends up being as good as it seems to be, I will probably want to enjoy it at its best (with fur, hair and cloth physics, for a start) so I'm already considering the idea of selling my GPU and buying a new one just for this, if that will be what it takes.

For one thing, let's hope the engine is optimized. That's a good starting point

Unless you're aiming for 60 fps, i think you'll get all those features, if not at their very top detail, at least activated.

I think they said all versions had all features active in one way or another, so i'm guessing, for example, even though consoles can't use NVDIA's fur technology, they'll have some other less expensive technique to simulate fur decently.

Yeah, I don't really get all the hostility even if she is a masculine female. I don't really think she is, but she definitely demands a lot as a character, which I also don't mind. Rare to see side characters who frequently overshadow main characters. The Scoia'tael (and Iorveth particularly) made more of an impression on me than Geralt ever has. Some interesting parallels in the Scoia'tael as to how people see modern day terrorism as well (in that the oppressing side tends to be overly judgmental of the oppressed).
