I was not interested in mgs anymore but after seeing Big Shell, and MGS2 being my favorite game, i'll give this another shot.

Mother Base was selected because of its remote location. They wanted to create an army without borders so they couldnt establish the HQ in any nation.
So creating it in a place which isn't part of any nation, makes you a nation of your own.

I am pretty sure that there is a place like that in real world. A guy bought a platform that wasn't inside the borders of any nation and he was able to establish his own.

Sure, I was just referring specifically as to why it would be an aesthetic foreshadowing of Big Shell. This will probably be the introduction of the Patriot AI to the series proper. I think there was a subtitle in the red band trailer or coma trailer that hinted at a weapon more powerful than Metal Gear which could either be the Twin Snakes or the Patriot AI. That'd be a fairly good reason as to why the Big Shell resembles Mother Base, since Big Shell kind of becomes a proxy for the various Outer Heavens throughout the series (Shadow Moses, Zanzibar etc.).

I'm sure Skull Face went to BB and blamed it on Zero. He wants his help so he framed Cipher for the events of Ground Zeroes.

/\ That's an amazing shot, and I'm sure we can explore parts of it since Kojima said being able to walk around the base would be a thing.

Either this or Big Boss has been captured during that scene (unlikely)

I think they just really like that effect. It's overused as hell in Ground Zeroes too.

It wasn't so much the effect that caught my attention as it was the fact that it went into slow motion and zoomed in every time it showed a knife, and it did it quite a few times in the trailer.

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
I hope that the *close up on knife which also has lens flare* thing isn't gonna happen a lot in this game, cause it happened a lot in this trailer.

I'm very excited to see what this game has to say about war in general. The prospect of a strong anti-war message coming across well is hugely exciting. I hope he doesn't chicken out with his use of child soldiers in this game after all his talk about exploring "taboo" topics.

Doesn't hurt that the game looks fantastic. My copy of Ground Zeroes gets here tomorrow.

Wonder what the deal is with the "Never be game over" coat Liquid is wearing.
For some odd reason I thought it was a pooyan reference(Konami game about a pig..came out in 1982).

Seriously though he must have some kinda beef with BB.

Engrish.
Tho the Japanese written on his back is kinda weird too. Nobody says 液体人. Nobody.

As someone who's never played any of the Big Boss-centric Metal Gears (3, AC!D, Peace Walker), is a lot of the Phantom Pain just going to sail over my head?
