Thoughts as I watch:

- That opener, wow. Really slick and cool. This show personified.

- "Did he say fitter?"

- Katrina seems depraved to me for some reason. Random thought.

- Mike laying down the smackdown at Harvey's place was AMAZING.

- OMG they really are going to war, this is crazy.

- Louis:(

- SMH RACHEL, GOD.

damn i just realized that Mike in a new office means more characters for them to underutilize.

it's funny seeing DB Woodside and Gina Torres back together again.

Rachel's about to act a fool this season.

Kind of felt like a reboot episode and it worked very well. I loved that they brought back Harvey’s sense of humor, he was way too cold last season.

Mixed premiere.

All the office scenes were great. Snappy dialogue, politics and just fast-moving enough that you don't pay attention to the unrealistic proceedings.

But once again the real drama doesn't arise from any legal or business-related actions, but because some characters did/are/will be sleep(ing) together. That last scene with Rachel's reveal made me roll my eyes so hard. Of course she slept with him. Of course!

Didn't appreaciate the disrespect against Donna either.

Two things i hate about this show, it makes my house look like a dump and my office (by office I mean cubicle) look even worse.

Honestly, I think they had enough drama with Rachel in the middle of Mike and Harvey on this without having to throw in the affair.

Yeah, my other reaction was "so?" She slept with him, who cares? Aren't they all supposed to be adults and not in high school anymore? They made it seem like it was some major reveal

Really good start to the season. Louis remains king. That has to be third Game of Thrones reference in two seasons now. Mike and Harvey going head to head this season sounds really interesting, and I actually don't know who'll win. I'd say Harvey because he always win but Mike is usually why, and I'd say Mike is the smarter of the two. It'll be interesting to see this unfold.

Umm...

Rachel will be fighting for a client (who was her ex) against her current boyfriend. That would be enough for lots of drama in a real life situation

I dunno, maybe I am able to compartmentalize these things easier than other people. It's not like she will be getting cozy with the guy. He is just a client. How long ago was this fling supposed to be? If it had been relatively recent, I can see a bit of an issue. It adds some stress, but unless she might sleep with him, can't control herself, etc, it's not really some crazy twist, gamechanger like they made it seem.

Well, in a season promo she was seen
doing exactly that.
I can't remember if it was the guy from this episode, but she was at a bar with someone that wasn't Mike.

But what is the purpose of a hedge fund

Rich people give their money to companies that work in stocks and trade (a hedge fund) and that company will use that money to invest in other companies in order to get a good return on investment. All for a hefty commission of course.

Mike best win this.

There shall be some big long tussle that nearly rips them apart only for a sudden new development that allows them both to work together and achieve their separate goals

Haha, pretty much and then Mike returns to being a lawyer.

Overall I kind of liked the episode, the GoT refrence was lame though. I still don't really get how the conflict between Mike and Harvey is supposed to work. If someone can explain that to me like I'm 5 years old... that would be great.

Originally, the hedge fund that Mike works for had Pearson Specter as a client to write the legalese for all of its business deals. Mike wants to buy the movie company that Gillis (sp?) owns for the hedge fund, but Harvey thought the way Mike wanted to try buying it was not a good business decision, and told him that as his lawyer.

At the same time, a different Pearson Specter client wanted to buy the same company. That is a conflict of interest, as Harvey can't represent two different clients who both want to buy the same company. Normally, this would not have been an issue, as a lawyer is ethically bound to stay with the original client. But since Mike had a hissy fit and put Pearson Specter into review (basically probation) after Harvey clowned his idea, it meant that PS was temporarily not representing Mike's company, so Harvey was forced to represent the other client, because he was still a current client.

So, now Mike has to face off against Harvey, with Mike and Harvey's current client both trying to take over the same company.
