I did. Thanks to the Treehouse streams, I saw enough upcoming games to make the jump. Also, the Mario Kart 8 bonus games available, the Mario Kart bundle was pretty good value.

Having the three first games for a console be Mario Kart 8, super Mario 3D world and The Wonderful 101 is not a bad start at all. Later this year Hyrule Warriors and Smash. Splatoon early next year.

So, yeah, Nintendo's E3 definitely made me want a Wii U enough to get one.

So you are saying that you are getting all the games free except for Mario Kart? I'm thinking you meant to say four games for the price two right? It's still a great deal either way though.

if he buys the mario u/ luigi u bundle and buys mario kart, he'll have 4 games for the price of one.

I bought one last Friday. I bought the MK8 bundle. The games are cheap now too. Very impressed. I picked up Wind Waker, mario u and 3d world. Wonderful 101 is on the way as well, so I should be set for a while.

I have missed Nintendo games because I never really played the Wii. I have a copy of Xenoblade calling me at some point in the near future...

I bought the Luigi bundle at target along with MK8 (using the pre order deal), pro controller, and one of silicone sleeves for the pad. I wanted to have some other games for the family other than just MK. I had previous wiimotes and motion plus so didn't care much about motion plus being built into the wiimote or the wheel.

I had $125 credit from trading in 3 games previously and I couldn't resist the MK urge anymore. Pretty happy with the system. The off TV play is wonderful.

Ordered the MK8 bundle this week, gonna open it when I get home tonight from the airport! Does the UK MK8 bundle include the free game of your choice offer? X

Didn't buy one last week, but I bought the NSMBU and NSLU bundle during the buy.com promo on ebay for 250 (best deal at the time) and picked up the following games within a week or two after purchasing.

Mario Kart 8
Wind Waker (promo)
Nintendo Land (clearance at toys r us)
Wonderful 101 (clearance at toys r us)
DKC: Tropical Freeze (sale at best buy)

Loving it so far. Can't wait for Smash, Zelda U, Starfox, Bayonetta 2, and Xenoblade X.

Planning to buy one very soon. While I still really want a ps4, It's something I can hold off on buying for a little bit. Wii U has MK8 and it's addicting as hell so I'm definitley picking up a bundle soon.

Make sure you guys get pikmin 3! It's such a pleasant experience. And don't forget about w101 or DKC:TF. DKC IS MY GOTY so far and w101 was in my top five last year! Support platinum and retro pleaseeee =}

I don't have the money for one. But since I saw that Zelda footage I've been looking for used U's every single day.

Nah, 2015 when Zelda comes out and the price will be cheaper. I already have a PC/PS4 backlog and the Steam summer sale is right around the corner so it makes zero sense to get a Wii U now.

I very nearly took the plunge, but the price was just a bit too high for me considering I'd get extras like the pro controller and don't have any wiimote plus thingys. When I get into the price range of the Wii U I just get tempted to get a ps4, although I'd prefer to wait for the hardware revision like I normally do.

But nice job on getting me interested Nintendo, especially because as a Sega kid, then Rare fan, I'm not that into Mario and other Nintendo games. My friend has a Wii U, will ask him about it next time we podcast.

That's my thing. You almost have to buy a Pro controller. I don't like the Gamepad at all.

Picked up a friend's deluxe, MH3 and NintyWorld for $200, this was about a month or two ago.

After this week, I'm actually playing it for the first time, thanks to Mario Kart and the Netflix/AmazonPrime streaming.

I thought about this, too, but I don't think it will get much cheaper with the refurb deal, mk8 promo, and Target Amazon price match. New system and three games for $240? Steal.

yep! got the MK8 bundle a few days ago. got new mario bros u, wii party u and w101. ended up ordering the luigi wii remote + nintendo land at best buy since it's on sale and I had 15$ in rewardzone certificates. gonna go pick that up today!

Picked up a refurbished console from Nintendo's site on Friday, going to pick up Mario Kart 8 as well with a pro controller and a cheap wii controller.

After their E3 digital event and playing the console at a friend's house, I was immediately sold on it.

Not I, but I will be getting one before Bayonetta 2 drops in October.

I already own 4 Wii U games though, I play them on my friend's system. I do not look forward to calling Nintendo and transferring my progress from one U to another because of my NNID...

Yeah, I really don't see the retail price going below 200 in a year. And the main nintendo games, like Mario Kart, take years to ever drop in price, so being able to get 2 mostly new games for the price of one is quite an amazing deal.

I'm considering selling my Vita to buy a black refurbished model, but I think I'll just wait for a good bundle once Bayonetta 2 and some other games are out later next year.

The game selection is small, and 3rd parties packed up and left but its a fun little machine. I've had one since launch and I don't feel like I've got my monies worth yet.

I haven't yet, but I'm looking into buying one as soon as Smash comes out. I guess they'll probably have a bundle as well.

Since no one has done it yet, as someone who has owned the system from the first day, here are the games I think are worth buying/renting:

Zombi U
NSMB U + NSL U
Lego City Undercover
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Rayman Legends
Pikmin 3
Wind Waker HD
Super Mario 3D World
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Wonderful 101
Mario Kart 8
Resident Evil Revelations, though the 3DS version is cheaper and arguably better
NES Remix 1 + 2 (digital only)
Zen/Star Wars Pinball (digital only)
Nano Assault Neo (digital only)
Mutant Mudds Deluxe (digital only)
Runner 2 (digital only)
D&D Arcade (digital only)

There are a couple of other good games out there depending on your tastes, like Wii Sports, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Need for Speed, Tekken, Lego Marvel, Sonic Racing, Skylanders, Scribblenauts and so on.

Is Monster Hunter worth it if you aren't going to really play multiplayer?

I've had a WiiU since launch and I am still not convinced it's worth it but the reason I still own one is because of Smash Brothers, the Press Conference really didn't do anything for me.

I'd also say that Nintendoland is a lot of fun if you have people to play with. Great to have as an alternative party game to MK8. It has surprising amount of content for single and multiplayer and can be found for around $10-$15 used easily. The Zelda, metroid, and pikmin games within are almost full games to themselves.

Yes, I had fun with it for about 30 hours solo. Never played a Monster Hunter game before and I found it very unique, interesting, challenging. Nice graphics, nice music as well.

The game is entirely soloable. It's just easier multi.

Oh, yeah, Nintendo Land. I agree: great game that doesn't get much recognition for what it does. Solid single and multiplayer content.

Im thinking about getting one.

Any recommendations for the best deal right now?

Refurb + MarioKart 8 Deal at Target. Nintendo land, Mario Kart and another game along with the console for $240ish plus tax, although it may take some time for the console to ship.

I got one on MK8 release day. I now have MK8, NSMB U and Zombi U.

Its a fun system. Me, a couple of friends and the gf completed NSMB U today. The gf helped with the pad and we also played some MK8.

Very fun and my friends now want one.

Oh yes. And they are indeed supah sweet

Oh wow, I didn't know the Wii Wheel in the bundle was an 'official' Wii Wheel, I just assumed it was this one from Hori:

I just nabbed an official one on eBay - I already have the official White, Black, & Gold Wheels so I had to complete the set! :)

Thanks for posting the pics! :D

I took the plunge pretty hard within the last two/three days.

Got the refurbished deal myself, with an extra wii mote and nunchuck.

Picked up Mario Kart 8 amazon because it was apparently 10 dollars off, plan on using that promo for Windwaker HD, it comes with Nintendo Land, and I used that coupon from Smash fest to get 3D World for 35. Puts me about 320 bucks for the whole shebang, so I think I got a pretty fine deal. Figured I should take advantage of those deals now knowing that 1st party titles take forever to drop.

3D world made me really want one briefly, but it wasn't enough for me. Mario Kart 8 really pushed me to strongly leaning. I knew I had to get one for Smash Bros, I would have bought the Wii U version even if I didn't have the Wii U then. But once I saw that refurb price, I jumped to also take advantage of the MK 8 promo. No regrets. With the titles out now and the ones guaranteed to come, I think it's a great time to get the console.

But I'm so happy I can guaranteed play Smash Bros U now.

With the refurb listing, what is the best deal right now? There are so many bundles and offers I'm kind of in a haze. My biggest wants for the system are MK8, 3D world, Pikman, Wonderful 101, and Zelda.

$250 32GB bundled with NintendoLand plus my associate discount was too good to pass. I just bought a Wii U. :D

Thanks. Added to OP. I am debating which mk8 bonus game to get.

I am getting close to it. I'm moving though so not yet...likely within days of the move finishing though I'll snap and grab one. I'm wanting to Death Stare some fools with Luigi in MK8 .

Considering the hate the console has often had from GAF its great to see so many of you now jumping on board. It really is a great little console.

Thinking about it... but still holding off. Steam summer sale coming up and I need to play some more PS3 games before I move out of this apartment and lose my roommate's PS3.
