Ok this game looks great and it won't rile up some people the way that Demon Gaze did. Has anyone teased localizing this? I would love for them to be coding to Vita version to make it easier to localize.

Well it is coming out for the Vita in Japan just we dont have an exact date. At the moment all the devs have said in an interview is Winter 2014.

No one teased it yet, as its way too far out. Plus there are still projects in between which need to be addressed such as Operation Abyss and the Cross Blood Infinity Ultimate.

Truthfully they need to focus on the other things first, such as going towards Operation Abyss which would ride off the success of Demon Gaze as it uses the same artists. Though the content is different as its based off the Generation Xth series. After that would be considering bringing Cross Blood Infinity Ultimate as it has something in the game that will read that you have Operation Abyss data which allows for bonus content. Granted its the same universe, the art style is different along with dungeon design and story. Though not sure how folks would react to the odd art style with Cross Blood, though it is a good game nonetheless. After that would be looking into Stranger of Sword City. Unless they try to get it before everything, but that would put way too much of a delay on the whole "road map" for proper marketing that connects with each other for Operation Abyss and Cross Blood which come out in July / August.

So from all their success with the Vita and PC I wonder if they will even bother with a home console or just make the Vita games vita tv compatible. Though their art style would look nice with the ps4's streaming especially if you could cause the game to send certain enemies their way with the interactive streaming. Man that would be horrifying if you got an audience that decided to send bosses to fight you while just leveling in a dungeon.

Since they will be needing to branch out past Japan as the market here is most def more into smartphones, so they are really having to rely on making money of their still existing core fanbase.

It would be nice and such perhaps they might consider the PS4 platform now that it seems a lot of folks are saying its so easy to develop for and the type of numbers sales wide around the world. But they would most def need someone on the inside to help with all of the type of road map that they should be following to attempt this, drive negotiations. Though since right now their games seem to do well on the handheld, not sure if they will want to make the switch just yet.

Hopefully this time from the start Operation Abyss, Crossblood Infinity Unlimited and Stranger of Sword City will all be vita compat from the get go. For whatever reason the original release of Crossblood Infinity was not, but they patched it later. Odd too considering its not like the game used touch features or anything which would have prevented it from working. The VitaTV really is the best solution currently for wanting to play either on a large screen or then just swapping back to the Vita for portable. Hell sometimes I just stick with the VTV exclusively like what Ive been doing with SAO:HF, Neptunia ReBirth, Noire.

Not really, seeing how people react to shit thats even 60 dollars them trying to charge what they charge in Japan would be beyond a bad idea. Esp the fact that the game doesnt really show off anything which would convince folks it warrants such a high price. You would get a lot more sales at a lower price point of 30-40 USD than you would trying to charge 70-80 like here in Japan.

They aint the best company with Emails. They havent even replied to a tech support related issue I had with one of their previous title "re-release" pc version of Students of the Round and this was a while now. Over here everything in general needs to be done through proper channels or at least have a company behind you if you want to be taken seriously. That and having an actual proposal ready ahead of time when it comes to something like this is an even bigger plus.

Next in line for currently uploading is footage of me going into the underground dungeon in the first area and fighting. With an amusing ending lol.
 
There are no save points in the dungeon, same goes for items / spells to exit the dungeon quickly. Seems that they were not kidding when they said the game was more designed for the core audience. Will have to see if this is correct when I play the game.

Charon was a boss from a previous title. The Students of Round game. :D Funny thing too is a goblin from that game apparently is in here too. Well his "ancestor" anyways. Mucabu the Fifth or something lol. Thought that was hilarious and a great easter egg for those who played the Students of Round game.

Oh yeah this game is pretty difficult, though its a great feeling since adds a lot more tension to the game.

Interesting bit with for example in how Demon Gaze you could abuse the fuck out of the items with healing properties for unlimited heals. In this game every time you "use" an items special property there is a chance it gets turned into a cursed item. Making it pretty much useless and you cant remove it from yourself without going to town / using a special item lol. Pretty cool to see them add that.

Doing self identifies within the dungeon too, if you fail the identify it will also turn the item into a cursed item. Though that can be reversed by using an item.

Ive already had 1 wipe so far. But man this game is pretty great. Excellent art direction and music. Though their UI needs to be shrunk down just a little bit as the character portraits in battle get in the way slightly of the enemies at times.

Also dont go running around without paying attention as you will collide with traps that could have been potentially disarmed otherwise. Nice to see that they make more use of dark zones too. As that was one thing they hardly used in Demon Gaze for example.

Seems like there is an item to exit dungeons but its highly limited and pretty crazy expensive. The shop only carries a limited amount like 3 currently and it costs in the several thousand range. Dont think you exactly want to be wasting these.

There are warp points which are marked by butterflies on the dungeon map, which also double as a huge potential chance for EXP if you decide to try and destroy the butterfly nest, but according to the devs they are pretty tough. Seems like some things changed from the interview last given as am noticing not everything is exactly as the devs had said. Still though its nothing major and hardly takes away from the pretty awesome experience am having so far with the game!

New video added. Clearing the first starter dungeon. Boss fight was easy considering had over leveled and have decent equipment on. Next video will be of hunting down the last "lineage species" (dont have a better name for it) in the zone, named Mukabu the Third. After that will be uploading more story bits footage + mini-boss fight. Then finally a third video that shows off small bits of each of the 3 new dungeons all in a single recording.

After I get done editing / uploading this final video it will be the last one added to the main page of the OP as 9 take up way too much space as is lol. Dont want to go through the trouble to resize / reupload all the thumbnails to try and fit more. Any further new videos will just be added as normal posts in the thread.

Something interesting is I just realized you can semi make a Paladin type of class if you wanted to. By starting off as a Knight, then switching to the Cleric gain a few Cleric skills / spells, then switching back to the Knight again and continuing down that path. Though will cost a good amount of money. So right now I have a Cleric who can wear heavy armor and use a shield from the get go. Instead of having to be lv 14? I think is when the Cleric class unlocks it in their tree.

I think you might be able to do the stupid of making a mage tank too in the same sense. Id imagine you could make some pretty broken classes if you mess around with this. But what limits things is the skill slots available to the player, which are unlocked by leveling up.

So when I went from Knight to Cleric on my Cleric I chose 2 knight skills, heavy armor and damage reduction.

What Im curious about is if there are hidden classes or traits later on in the game.

Oh man looks like they are having some sort of event tomorrow near Akiba, though with the weather all fucked like it is not sure if will be able to go or not. Really would like to since would be cool to get the producers to sign the game. Seems like the Producer Chikami-san will be there from 2PM and Agata-san will be there at 4PM. Though if Im reading this correctly limited to 100 people per session. D: Though might be a good chance since Id doubt many would wander out in the rain like this. D:::

New footage of running through the slums dungeon near the Medel Company area. This is one of the new dungeons that opened up from the 3 previously shown in another video.
Took down the first Lineage Species here also, the Figureless Sniper, man that battle was a pain in the ass due to all the enemies that kept getting in the way lol. Good thing my ranger is pretty powerful, though I made her as one of those single LP characters lol.

Dear god that Cathedral is a thing of nightmares though almost died in there so many times. :D Also its made up of a ton of one way walls. D:

Currently am going through the medel company dungeon as it seems to have the lowest ranking lineage species monsters to hunt for the blood crystals. Then from there will need to decide which of the 3 factions to give them to. Which opens up the special skills available that uses the morale points.

If Demon Gaze did well enough for NISA, it's definitely reasonable to think they'd be interested in localizing this as well. Since the Vita version isn't out until winter, though, I would expect them to localize Operation Abyss first, which comes out in Japan in July.

Nothing yet, but the producer Chikami-san has expressed his interests in wanting to get it localized. I should look into resolving that if possible.

They have other titles which should be pushed out first such as Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss and Cross Blood Infinity Ultimate. July / August for those two.

The Vita version of SoSC isnt even finished yet unlike the other 2 titles mentioned above. Reason for saying that is Exp Inc has been busy with other titles in between such as Demon Gaze, Demon Gaze (rerelease forgot the subtitle), Operation Abyss, Cross Blood Infinity and Cross Blood Infinity Ulitmate.

That indeed is pretty cool. Always do appreciate different dungeon designs. You would really like some of the designs in Dungeon Travelers 2 then. Those are pretty well done and nice looking.

Would be better to make one after Operation Abyss and Cross Blood Infinity Ultimate come out. So around end of August. Still have the OA and Freedom Wars OTs to take care of. Along with an impression thread for Lost Dimension Vita even though am worried as fuck how that game will turn out seeing how little they have released on it... Also hopefully Elminage Gothic PC will be out by then too and will have the OT up for that also, though still not sure on the release date past Summer.

Id think they would be pretty booked up for a while, but will be interesting to see if they do release it. At least if they did you would know they will have some sort of LE version made. Im not too sure if someone went and did a "fan translated" version of Students of the Round. You might have to look around google for that. Its another title by Experience Inc.

There was also the Generation Xth fan translation project but no idea how that one is going, which is another title by Experience Inc. One of their earlier ones. Heres a GAF thread on Generation Xth fan translation.

Week one sales for the 360 version were 5,060 units according to Media Create. Compared to the 25k Demon Gaze did in its first week, I can see why they would decide to release a Vita version as well.

not surprising considering how late intobthe game they were with the title on the 360. where most folks would have ditched theirs by now. only the hardcore kept systems instead of waiting for the pc or vita. general consensus is that folks are waiting for the vita version.

what was interesting is how amazon sold out of its initial stock and the marketplace hyenas drove up the price to 8k jpy before leaving for the us 4 days ago am back in the saddle now so can continue on with my adventure.

the class change, skill system is fantastic really changes things up and does add stress to losing a character due to time invested

will explain more later am on the road now

thats good to hear at least some of the investment was made back. do think the pc and vita should help push things into the black.

at least those can be imported thats why unlike the decision to leave the 360 one region locked wonder if it can be patched out.

Since it looks like the weather is going tits up here seems like a nice time to enjoy the few days off and just continue on my adventures lol.

Seems like the region lock cant really be patched out, it could but deemed too much work. Unfortunate though considering. Am sure the team is busy with the PC / Vita versions anyways which will sell more.

Oh man in this game just as I feared ninjas do 即死 so instant death suddenly from attacks which can be the worst if you have a single LP type of character. I think there is an item that can help prevent it, but its very limited in stock with the shop. D:

My wizard / cleric hybrid got hit tonight lucky for me its the 3 LP character, but if that hit my archer oh shit would have lost some major firepower in my whole roster...

CANT WAIT to run into combined enemy parties of samurai and ninjas. D:

Nice well if the team is reading this "Hi your game looks fantastic." Anyway Parakeet how balanced does the insta death feel? I like it in my games but I also like a skill that will at least temp block it later on so that I can at least plan around it a bit with the right construction.

its the first time ive met these types of enemies but so far just a single casualty to them. as mentioned i think there is an item that can prevent this but very limited in numbers. ill check tonight to see if there are any higher level skills that can prevent it too.

i need to check if the skill to survive death with 1 hp also applies to the insta kill effects too.

there is a lot more to getting a project passed just than someone talking right now with only the x360 numbers to go off of does not make for a strong proposal. plus its different from demon gaze so cant use that 100% as a platform to stand on besides showing that the genre has fans in the west.

they most likely have their own schedule, which would imagine includes tokyo new world record operation abyss and possibly labyrinth crossblood infinity unlimited as both of those come out july and august.

stranger does not have a jp release date outside of winter 2014 for the vita currently.

if anything id imagine its still a long ways out as not to overextend. also on the us side id imagine they wouldnt want to be buying into something too far in advance.

either way am sure it will make it over eventually.

I am already planning on buying this game once it hits the pc, but I will double bite if you translate it to English.

Should be a good time. Am curious what kind of prices import places will charge. Just be ready for a kinda high price as you can see in the OT that the price here in Japan is already high. D: With the SRP of 7300, but thats actually cheaper than Students of the Round which was around 80 when it came out first on PC.

I do not mind paying that but, do they sell a digital version?

Because importing here costs a lot.

am not sure on that since there is no pricing for a digital version, doubt it though as their other pc titles did not have digital download versions.

we will have to wait and see

Very nice cover indeed. Am curious how much the global edition will sell here in Japan as it comes out this month I think.
