What in the hell happened to STING?

I haven't seen him since the Final Days of WCW Nitro...before the WWE bought it.

He used to be athletic.

He looks like my DAD now!

He came to TNA in ~2005 and stayed there until early 2014. He had great presence there, many great feuds, participation in organizations, stints as GM, and more.

I enjoyed him there a lot.

Yo F this game

where is my Legends of Wrestling 3
one of the best most fun wrestling game and i really slick CAW mode

But the only way ill get this if they have a full blown out creative mode
i would love if they even had another whack a the "just bring it" story mode, but more expansive
an RPG Wrestling game

It was just as terrible as the first two.

I just realized Sting is 55, Hogan is 60 and Flair is 65.

I'm totally shocked there's only a 5 year difference between Hogan and Sting.

I thought Sting was like 10 years younger. And Flair, I thought he had a solid decade over Hogan.

They're all pretty close in age.

Man, I feel old now.

I remember watching Starcade with the 4 Horseman back in the old NWA and Flair looked kinda old then lol

If you ever want mindblown.gif, go look up how old DDP was when he first won the WCW title

Man, that scorpion deathlock gif is SUPER depressing. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, I've watched that teaser multiple times today, the inner ten year old in me is HYPED, and I don't even play this games.

Really? Again, Sting was using the Sasori-gatame (original Japanese name, which coincidentally, translates to Scorpion Deathlock) years before Bret starting using it and renamed it Sharpshooter.

And yet even with that headstart, he still sucks ass at it.

Hulk Hogan IS 60 years old and looks better shape.
Hogan's looks are misleading though. His back is so fucked that he can barely walk. Sting can still work a pretty decent match. Hell, even Flair at 65 can still do more physical stuff than Hogan. He got involved with Bray Wyatt at a house show a few days ago, whereas WWE won't let Hogan do anything physical in case he... well, dies.

And your basing that opinion on an obvious cherry picked GIF?
All of sting's scorpion deathlock pretty much look the same. Where he's standing and not applying any pressure.

Where bret has always applied pressure and leaned back.

I wouldn't say that at all.

And a pic of when he beat Jeff Jarret for the NWA Championship.

I thought he was going to break his back when I saw it live.

Is sting back in WWE or something? Why is this happening?

"back" is not the term as he never was in WWE before. Sting has signed a "Legend" contract with WWE. We don't know yet if he'll actively appear in the program, and potentially wrestle, in the futur.

Back? He never was in the WWE to begin with.

Rumors (I know) that he'll sign a contract with WWE later this year.

I dunno, I think that last night's promo with him for the game being the first time he's actually appeared in WWE ever is a big deal and just the start. I hope he does at least one match in WWE...just for the fans.

I think the only thing that can fix wrestling games is a highly customizable game (sort of like what Fire Pro Wrestling used to be) that has enough freedom to circumvent licensing issues, made by fans of AKI games like all the other Kickstarter fueled fan revivals.

the producer of No Mercy even backed it

"I'm very happy to make a donation for this. Best of luck as always and hope to see this come to completion!" – Producer of WWF No Mercy, Sanders Keel

The crowd was so into the appearance of Sting aswell, Then they booed when they realised it was for 2K15.....Shows he has popularity still.

WWE crowd has had massive blue balls with Sting over the last few months. Will be insane once he's actually at a show!

I know he's not early 90's/97 Sting anymore but he can still work a match like a champ.

That thing has been around, taking donations and in development for almost 10 years now and no-one's seen hide nor hair of it.

EDIT: Actually, checking their website, it's been 11.

Doesn't being playable in WWE's game mean he already signed a contract?

It means that he's signed something to allow his likeness to appear in a WWE video game. It doesn't necessarily mean he's signed a contract to be a WWE working talent.
