Played Titan to level 8 on PS3, had a great time.

It's cool that your character stays from PS3 to PS4 and 360 to XB1, but I'm not sure if I'll play it on PS4 or XB1, so might replay beta on 360 with a different class if I manage to get a code.

Also, it's kinda annoying, as a Bungie fan I want to get the game on PS4 for the early exclusive stuff, but the Halo collection looks awesome as well. Also, none of my friends currently have XB1's, but a couple of my friends have PS4's.

Any suggestions GAF?

Overall, I'm very much enjoying the beta, but my main gripe is the story.

It's so vague that it almost feels like I'm playing a Souls game.

It's basically; you were dead for a long time, bot made by a giant alien moon/planet-spaceship revived you and now you must fight the darkness.

Seriously, this game needs more fluff and I hope that storytelling is messy because it's only a beta and they didn't want to give out too much of the story, too early.

Also, WTF is up with the Devil Walker? Exactly, how many rounds, grenades and supers do I have to fire at that guy to get it killed?

Perhaps the missions in the beta are a bit cut and pasted from the full game? It definately feels disjointed at times, and the overall intro is very poorly done. Not in quality, but in introducing the player as to what the hell is even going on. So I'm just an old Russian mailman or whatever caught in a blast while stuck in traffic and centuries later revived by a floating orb? Okay I guess? And now I'm a supernatural killing machine and a natural talent with weapons and stuff. Cool!

But yeah, I seriously hope the full game has more exposition and more diversity. Going back and forth from the Tower to Old Russia six times in a row without having any actual setup felt weird.

So what was everyone's thoughts on iron banner? Were the advantages noticeable? I have mixed feelings about it. I don't get to play til wed, so I have no real opinon on it first hand. I have seen some if the gear from it and that looks pretty cool.

I wonder how it will work In The final game. Like a weekly challenge type thing or what.

I feel better than in balanced pvp. My time and effort to grind those gears are paying itself here.

The advantages are noticable for some players, I feel. My equipment hovers around the same average high-ends as most of the rest, and because of that, it feels like normal PvP, but you notice after a while that there's probably one or two guys who take an extra 2 hits to kill, or that they kill you absurdly faster than other headshotters.

Or maybe I just suck at the game.

Can someone explain the Iron Banner stuff? I got the bounties from the bounty dude, talked to the Iron Banner guy in the Tower and went to the crucible and selected the Iron Banner one.

None of the bounties progress, and I don't know how to get the Iron Banner emblems and such so you can actually complete the bounties. I am confused. :|

I wasn't crazy about it. It definitely provides more of a challenge, but it's not really my thing. But it also might depend on the fireteam you're with. I was with a GAF team last night and we did really well and I enjoyed it more.

I'm badly letting my team down when I played IB on Vita remote play. My aim is awful on the PS4, but on the Vita I could count the number kills on one hand from 5 matches. My K:D is at best 0.2 D:

From everyone's replays about the IB it sounds about what I was thinking. Kinda a mixed bag it seems. I'm glad the regular PVP has no level advantages. IB sounds like a fun way to earn some rate stuff, but wouldn't wanna play it all the time.

Again, I haven't played(I'm anxiously awaiting the 23rd, I think I'm getting the shakes), but that's what it sounds like.

Yeah I think the idea of IB is amazing. It's awesome that there is a mode where the gear you earned matters more and you have a chance to really compare your's to others'.

And i'm glad it's not a permanent game mode too. The way they do it now is perfect.

The turrets rip the interceptor apart. The other team being dumb and not using the proper counter does not make the interceptor broken.

Out of all the Moon maps I've tried, most of the time it's actually hard to find guys running around to be killed with Pikes or Interceptors. Guys who aren't riding it are keeping to the buildings to avoid... you know, being killed.

And then there was that one time where a bunch of fools parade about in the open for a consecutive multikill streak.

other than it being the only way to play the other maps, i agree. it should be a limited spectacle every weekend.

Well if that means only having one Intercepter spawn then may God have mercy on the souls of the team that doesn't get it.
It could go with a rebalance to its rocket system, but it's still fairly easy to take down. This thing doesnt Banshee flip at least

They could probably make it reload, have slower projectiles, or a visible light over which rocket os going to fire. Maybe all 3. They shouldnt nerf its power.

Over, if you don't like the multiplayer why do you keep playing it?

Well, since you don't like the multiplayer, you don't have to play it.
Oh Dax, so hostile.

Anyway, it can be fun when donging on terrible players. Competitively it's still a complete mess, but the game hasn't really matched me up with decent opponents yet so it hasn't been a huge problem. It's definitely not something that that'll keep me hooked for very long like Halo did, but in between PvE missions it can be pretty entertaining.

I like it more. As a Titan I feel like I live longer because my armor advantage seems to matter. I can't prove this is the case in the normalized. Plus when I leveled up a new weapon I was excited to try it out in IB

RoboPlato

I'd be in the dick
I wasn't able to keep up with the last thread but I've been playing this almost nonstop the past few days. I love everything about this game and it's been a blast playing with Gaffers and friends.

I think making the rockets not home in on players would go a long way with making it less overpowered. Or maybe make it a two-shot-kill. Not sure about that unless I'd try it out, though.

Hunters are amazing in any mode.

Thanks.I was watching this video that was based on the Alpha that said Hunters had the worst super and it wasn't as effective as the other classes. I was just curios if that changed in the beta. I always enjoy playing glass cannony high damage classes, so I was drawn to the Hunter because of that.

lmao yes. i was blaining kids left and right with some HaloGAF folks. We were winning some games 20k to <5k. It was amazing.

How are Hunters in PVE? I'm trying to decide between them and Warlock when the beta goes live on Xbox.

Pretty good.

Warlock's stronger at dealing wide-range AoE to many enemies, but I feel like Hunter's the class with the broadest range of options and in-game ability to do a lot of different stuff to suit your preferred playstyle. They have the tightest jumping mechanic which allows for greater speed and location-to-location combat effectiveness, they have a throwing knives which essentially works as a two-range melee, and their grenades are useful for both traps and outright damage. And the Golden Gun's great, even if it requires more finesse than other Supers.
