Only East of the Mississippi River. Disney is perfectly free (and are already planning) to add Marvel attractions to Disneyland. It's just WDW that Universal has the rights over.

Aw man, airfare to California is super expensive from here :-/. Depends on how epic the Marvel attractions were, I guess.

well, if there's anything positive to be said about me it's that I recover quickly. Sure, i'll never forget the guy but it's not like I can stay crying for the rest of my life.

I am trying to collaborate with an artist to draw something to remember him by, that i'm fully paying for. I put my heart and soul designing every element of it and getting an artist to work her magic.

Thats good to know, seems you are braver than me. As I said in the PM, hope it all goes well, and hoping also to see the drawing by that artist soon.

So I haven't really been keeping up with Disney Infinity 2.0 despite very much enjoying the first one. So I recently got around to seeing a bunch of videos and previews and... I really hate that Maleficent is basically just Angelina Jolie. I saw the movie opening weekend and told a bunch of friends and coworkers that I didn't like it, but all of them saw it anyway and said they loved it. Ugh, she's not the same anymore. When I went to go see the movie, I even jokingly told my brother
that I'd be satisfied as long as she turns into a dragon. NOPE.

Anyways, I'm still excited for Infinity 2.0. The first game took me by surprise. Probably my favorite level editor in any game. It's a shame that a lot of the content and in-game toys are locked behind just about every single physical toy. I'm pretty excited about the interior décor stuff though. I hope they increase the limit of toys per toy box too.

I might buy disney infinity 2.0 because of my nephews and our love of superhero stuff but i'm still kind of miffed that there are no lion king things in these games. Or much of anything from the early years of disney to the renaissance years.

The fact that there's no Donald in sight makes me sad.

Same as me. The movie was ridiculous bad, I was just and inch from going out of the theater, and ive never done that. One of the most rubbish movies Ive seen in a theater (with The Sound of Thunder). The
no malificent dragon was the icing on the cake of how bad it was, and I exactly thought as you in the middle of the movie
The worst of all is how much it insulted the original movie. The small girls and women in the audience love it though. Ive even read some user reviews that said how much they like this malificent because the old one was too frightening.
Truly a sad moment for humanity.

And yes to both of those. I have some figures, but I still havent got the game. The need to put Donald and Disney classics and renaisance ASAP. I need my donald, goofy, hercules, megara and genie figures. Is that so much to ask?

Its surprising that Nintendo is going to get it right from the bat with amiibo. Nearly all Nintendo history will be available thanks to smash bros.

Bought tickets for the Mickey's Halloween Party for the first week of October.

The girlfriend wants to do it big and stay at one of the Disneyland hotels. Contemplating paradise pier, but $250 is still a damn lot for one night. Anyone have hotel recommendations/stories? Are the Disney hotels worth it? I wouldn't be getting early access to the park since the Halloween party doesn't even start till 3. I've admired them from the lobby and pool area, but have never ponied up the cash to stay a night. Usually just do the nearby holiday inn.

I always stay onsite unless it's a last minute trip but it's very much an indulgent expense. There are plenty of hotels within walking distance but I like leaving the parks knowing I'm still in a little Disney bubble. I'm not sure I'd do it for one night--we've never stayed under 3 nights. Paradise Pier is probably the worst in terms of being a destination, partly because the grounds and building are smaller and partly because you kind of get an outside glimpse of the regular world due to its location. That said, I've stayed there more times than Disneyland Hotel because their park views at the concierge level are fantastic and tend to be cheaper than most rooms at DLH or any at the Grand.

If I had one night, I would probably just stay somewhere cheaper but spend my time outside of the Halloween party on property like grabbing drinks at Trader Sams or the Hearthstone Lounge, doing some shopping, or having lunch at Downtown. Use that bit of money you'll save by making it special in a different way.

Since I really have nothing better to do right now, disney song list time. I thought about it a fair bit this time.

First off it's time for a bit of romance

5: Love will find a way - the lion king 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFHw1HZTGzM

Not a fan of the movie itself in the slightest, but the romantic plot was one of the least-worst parts of it. I'm also a sucker for romantic duets.

4: love is an open door - frozen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPImqZo0D74

Like I said, i'm a sucker for romantic duets >_>

3: Can't say i'm in love - Hercules
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl0DMTlwLw4

Yeah, it's a good song

2: A whole new world - aladdin

It's a classic! If you don't know it by heart I dunno what to say

1: Can you feel the love tonight - the lion king - elton john version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIpnyrQZG1Q

Kinda cheating, probably is. Oh well, don't care.

Now, time for my top 10 all time favorites, not including any from the previous list.

10: son of man - tarzan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WcHPFUwd6U

Just an amazing marvel to watch

9: little town - beauty and the beast

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx1MmY1Bb50

8: part of your world - the little mermaid

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK4HNNhQ0e4

7: Zero to hero - hercules

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa0lMzaljTk

6: i'll make a man out of you - mulan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10KGEAcRy-c

5: I just can't wait to be king - the lion king

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPZnw4xSXDw

4: we are one - lion king 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glDGAo9SIqs

3: He lives in you - lion king 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjfM6NiMGG4

2: circle of life - the lion king

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zLx_JtcQVI

and my number 1 choice is

1: King of pride rock - the lion king

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUM9qkHn5u0

I'm more than just a little bit biased as you can probably already tell from this topic <_<

Me and my son love taking pictures with the chaarcters in the park sucks the villians are rare

For WDW:
If you want to meet some of the villains, they do a quick set at Hollywood Studios at around 4pm by the Hat. The ones that go out there are part of Fantasmic, and they have to do a certain amount of sets for work hours. I think it's like 20 minutes tops, and it's extremely fast paced. This is not like a typical meet and greet when the character is there for a few hours. Talk to the attendants, learn where each character goes, and get in the respective line immediately. You'll be lucky to get two during the off season.

Now some characters like the Queen of Hearts, Lady Tremaine, Drizzella and Anastasia, make frequent appearances around the Magic Kingdom. The Halloween Party and Christmas Party are also a great time to meet more off beat characters. The villains do a set after the stage show in front of the castle during the Halloween Parties.

Never been big fan of Mickey Mouse but I love Floyd Gottfredson's work. I was wondering who are the must read MM artists besides Floyd?

His sister just told me what he died of.......

.......it was leukemia...

I just feel like my body is torn apart. I've had too many people in my life taken by that disease.

Thanks for the advice. Still have a couple of months to figure it out, but it seems like hotels that week will already be a little more expensive than usual...might take your advice and go the cheaper option.

Whatever you do, do not stay at the Plaza Inn. Last time I went everyone in my family got norovirus that we are pretty sure originated from the ice machine at the hotel.

A month from now i am taking my wife and kids to disneyworld. They are excited.

Same here, we leave on August 19th through the 24th. Im going with my my wife, 2 kids, my sister and her husband, their 3 kids and my mom and dad. We roll deep!

My mother has made costumes for all the kids for each day (sometimes two costumes per day). Since the kids are all young we will be doing a character meal each day and lots of meet and greets.

I'll be there during 'Villians UNleashed' at Hollywood Studios but will not be attending because we are travelling with mostly young girls who are more into the princesses and not at all into the villians. I would love to go to this event, here's a partial list of the villians in attendance:

Hades
Meg
Pain
Panic
Anastasia
Drizella
Lady Tremaine
J. Worthington Foulfellow
Gideon
Big Bad Wolf
Cruella De Vil
Captain Hook
Mr. Smee
Bowler Hat Guy
Queen of Hearts
Gaston
Jafar
Darth Vader
Darth Maul
Boba Fett
Asajj Ventress
Emperor Palpatine
Stormtrooper
Zam Wessell
Jango Fett

I'm honestly wondering if anyone has seen any of the movies that came between Bambi and Cinderella, which I've started calling The Void, since no one seems to have seen or talked about except for die-hard fans. Those movies being:

Saludos Amigos!
The Three Caballeros
Make Mine Music
Fun and Fancy Free
Melody Time
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

I've seen the Sleepy Hollow segment of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, but nothing else.

I've seen all of em, but other than Ichabod and Three Amigos it's been awhile. Those two I have on DVD and watch at least once or twice a year.

I'm so thrilled that Tarzan is coming to blu-ray. It's one of my favorite Disney films, especially from a design standpoint. So much so that last year I paid $65 for a copy of the out-of-print Tarzan art book. Glen Keane is one of my biggest artistic inspirations, so it was easily worth the price.

James Earl Jones would be the simplest cameo because he doesn't even have to show up, just record some dialogue.

Anyone who was in Disneyland the past few days do the Legends of Frontierland event?

I still have a hard time associating Star Wars with Disney. I love both of them but its just weird to see them under the same umbrella. Am I the only one that feels that way?

I did at first when I was cautious about 7, but now that the hype train is chugging along at a brisk pace I feel more comfortable with the association.

I've always wondered what park visitors thought about Star Wars and Disney and what the association was even before the acquisition since Star Tours has been a part of the parks since the 80s and Star Wars Weekends was founded in the 90s.

Because of Star Tours I've always had the Disney/Star Wars association, but not having the Fox fanfare before the film and instead Disney's (and Bad Robot's?) will be weird.
