Every single one of my predictions either has come true in some shape or form or was based on sound enough reasoning where the likelihood of it happening was nearly as feasible as it not happening so continue finding the most popular bandwagon to jump on instead of opening your eyes to the possibilities out there.
I'd go into more detail now but the ferocity with which I'm typing this servage into my phone is making the old lady on the train sitting next to me nervous.

It is shipped to be fair.those wii numbers are just insane, will anything top the wiis first two years again?

Next Announcement by Sony on January 6th, 2015
PS4 install base crossed 20 million.
How likely?
How much the xbone sold trough?

Nope, the Wii was a one of a kind revolution. Plus it launched super cheap and tapped into a market that normally didn't game. There won't be another Wii, but it's possible the PS4 ends up selling more than it, it'll just take longer.

I know they're ugly, but I wanted to emphasize the lines are interpolated. Also, the Xbox One has a +/- 550k error. (sorry for the color blind)
Calendar year, end of 2014.
Yep, Wii U is a beasthahaha fixed the mistake, thanks

Geez, I CANNOT wait to see TR be below #5 (or maybe lower depending on the releases that month) on the NPD charts its launch month. Will be great!!!
I was guessing 10.5m if there are some supply issue. Is there anyone here who works in logistics who can guess a figure for the 'shipped' figures to date?
Even if we assume the 10 million'th PS4 sold to a customer some time today before the press conference, how many extra consoles are likely to be on container ships sailing the wide oceans, and how many in distributor's warehouses and retailer's stockrooms.
Even more confusing the PS2 numbers would be "production shipments" which is something whose definition I still can't totally figure out.PS2 would beat it, Wii is hard to say, but i would say it also beat it slightly.
But keep in mind that this is all based on the (unlikely) assumption that the PS4 hit 10 million today, cause we don't know the real date.
Also the PS2 and Wii numbers are shipments, while the PS4 number is sold to consumers.
So the shipment numbers are higher (comparing launch aligned shipments i would strongly guess PS2>PS4>Wii).
Thank you again! You always bring the best data Aqua.GBA Shipments

If you look at the current LTD of historical systems, it can be a bit deceptive.
For example, the GBA was ridiculously popular...the reason it's not at DS level is because Nintendo abandoned it so quickly due to the PSP.
Other systems that ended up selling a massive amount of units (like the PS1) had a very slow launch, but continued to maintain sales momentum for many years.
Keep in mind that PS4 is a $399 console. GBA launched in North America at $99, DS launched at $149, PSP launched at $249, and 3DS launched at $249 but dropped down to $169 quickly.
So, for a home console, the the PS4 is doing EXCEPTIONALLY well for its first 9 months. Let's see how well Sony will maintain its momentum in the years to come.
To be fair he wasn't the only one predicting big things for the Xbox One after that reveal how anybody could predict a sales victory is beyond me.

That's pretty hot.
I need help, don't I?
mmh I guess less than 6M.Good luck getting that info. MS is not giving it.

Seems possible if they have a price drop for the second half of the year. All of the delayed games into earlier next year should keep momentum going at current price. $299 at E3 next year would bring in a lot of people who will be hitting year five or six of PS3/360 ownership.Incredible, could the sales momentum actually increase in 2015 when are the heavy hitters from 1st and 3rd party release??
As impressive as that is, some context would be nice. Competitor sales etc.
So as a rough estimate we can say:
XB1 ~5m sold through
PS4 >10m sold through
2013:
XB1 3m sold through
PS4 4.2 sold through
2014:
XB1 ~2m sold through
PS4 ~6m sold through
PS4 is outselling XB1 roughly 3:1 WW this year... That's gotta be a bad read over at MS HQ.

Following the publication of this story, Sony sent out an official release regarding the PS4's 10 million milestone. That figure accounts for worldwide sales as of August 10, and represents the "fastest and strongest" growth in PlayStation hardware in Sony's history.
Erm. MS announced a terrible product in every conceivable way. The only logical prediction was that they would struggle to match the clearly superior product. It was obvious back then as it is today.
They didn't even have a coherent marketing strategy. Sony has had it relatively easy really. But you can only beat what's put in front of you....
As much as you hate the One right now, chances are you're going to buy one sometime during its lifespan because you are a gamer and it will be tough to resist when all is said and done. Here's five reasons why the One will top the charts
Kinect 2.0 will be the next Wiimote. The new Dance Central and Kinect Sports will be just the tip of the iceberg. MS knows they need a few more killer apps to start the avalanche effect and that's exactly what they have been working on in the hopes of having the next "Wii Sports" phenomenon on their hands. No other system can provide this type of mass market offering for grandma and little tommy alike.
Power of Dudebro
The biggest franchises out there will be on One. Some of them will be on the PS4, sure, but there's nowhere else where you'll find Halo, COD, Gears, Madden, etc. all on one console. Don't underestimate the dudebros who continue to fuel the yearly installments of COD, etc. and play it on the 360/PS3 instead of playing superior graphical versions on PC. The hardcore may care about FPS and res and such, but dudebro's don't.
Marketing
Wii U already has a flat tire so only the PS4 is in the way from topping the charts. Wii U will rebound a bit, no doubt, and PS4 is formidable, but Microsoft already proved it can maneuver around Sony whenever it needs to to maintain sales momentum whether that comes in the form of advertisements, aggressive price cuts and promos, or marketing deals with publishers. Microsoft has the deeper pockets and it's looking like they may have a price advantage all gen long.
Exclusives
There will be a bunch of One exclusives, moneyhat variety or otherwise. A handful of those will be hard to resist for even the biggest Sony or Nintendo fan so gamers will give in whether they like it or not. There's already been talk of Microsoft opening the wallet for Respawn's game and possibly Dead Rising 3. We know Ryse is coming and sounds like Insomniac and others may have exclusive stuff in the works.
Innovation
Microsoft were big innovators with the 360, whether people want to admit it or not and it's looking like they will keep that trend going. Gamers who think that Sony won't follow suit with the used games restrictions are fooling themselves. The future is here. You will either support it or not (see Steam). Dedicated servers, dynamic achievements, in-game skype and internet feeds, video sharing, cloud enhancements, clean and snappy interface, real-time multitasking/switching, smart TV, etc., etc. Few companies will be able to match the One's online gaming experience, but it will come at a cost, of course.

IIRC, MS has only given out shipped numbers.
