Hrm? It's true, unfortunately. Wait, that's not unfortunate. Then fortunately? Well whatever, it's business. Sony has been growing a lot in the financial resources category the past few years and it's saved them from looking even more horrible while they're trying to overhaul their electronics brands. It was only this past quarter for the first time in probably-since-the-PS2 that both the PS division and Sony Corp posted an overall profit. PS and phones are improved. TVs and PCs still need a lot of help.I love GAF!!!!
"Power of the Dudebro" is my new favorite term, especially since I love to mock that demographic a lot. That's a legitimate point, though. Microsoft solidly held the "dudebro" crowd all of 7th generation--Particularly in NA--And they were surely assuming from day 1 of design of the XB1 that they had it locked up.It seems the power of the dudebro failed MS.
They just announced Tearaway for PS4.Neither are going anywhere. Just get the one you want with consideration to the games you want to play and what your friends are doing.
I am on same boat. I had one for months before selling it to neighbor. There is nothing that leans to my tastes just yet.
What bashing? Btw the XBO concerns are b/c of long-term trends and its weak presence in other markets and even its stronghold markets. It's selling well now....it may not be selling well in the future (it's kinda not selling well now already). Why must this thread, like everything else on GAF, turn into some sort of bashing thread?
Xbox is selling well. PS4 is selling incredibly well.
History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle." - Don Mattrick

In only 9 months too. This is really incredible.
Insanity?Eh? Ps4 is a beast but that'd be insanity on a ridiculous scale. Doubt it heavily.
Next Announcement by Sony on January 6th, 2015
PS4 install base crossed 20 million.
How likely?
Microsoft is launching the XB1 in China and over a dozen new key markets soon. The 2:1 ratio will vanish relatively quickly.
I wonder how developers are reacting to this news.

That'd honestly be pushing it. I could see install base hit 20 million by mid-end of February though.Next Announcement by Sony on January 6th, 2015

This is some amazing stuff. But let's be honest, how could one knew.
If it's GDDR5 PS4 will be at least $100 more than a 720 at launch and it will be the same story as this generation.

If we compare sold through for both, it's even more...does 2.5:1 sound realistic?
those wii numbers are just insane, will anything top the wiis first two years again?
I know they're ugly, but I wanted to emphasize the lines are interpolated. Also, the Xbox One has a +/- 550k error. (sorry for the color blind)
Calendar year, end of 2014.
Yep, Wii U is a beasthahaha fixed the mistake, thanks
False. One thing I've learned over the years is that no matter how ridiculously, impossibly stupid something is, someone somewhere truly believes it in their heart.
And in a more stable global economy
Oh dear...

Every single one of my predictions either has come true in some shape or form or was based on sound enough reasoning where the likelihood of it happening was nearly as feasible as it not happening so continue finding the most popular bandwagon to jump on instead of opening your eyes to the possibilities out there.
I'd go into more detail now but the ferocity with which I'm typing this servage into my phone is making the old lady on the train sitting next to me nervous.

Time to try The Force I guess...It seems the power of the dudebro failed MS.
