I'm surprised this thread is so barren. This is one of the better shows this season imo.

Possibly visibility of the thread. If a handful of users kept it active on the day it aired, it'd probably catch more traffic rather than falling to page whatever.

Watched the new episode. Damn, this anime is pretty good already. Will definitely continue to watch it. Might just read the manga, too.

That last episode was brutal.

I didn't even know we had a thread for Akame ga Kill, I'll definitely be using it every week now.

This weeks episode was pretty intense,
Poor Sheele, I knew this show would be depressing after the first episode tore out my heart with Sayo and Leyasu, I should have heeded the warnings :'(

Didn't hold back on the
conquest part of the north
even showing all of the piked bodies and stuff lol. I'm so glad
Seryu eventually dies.

Esdeath while one of the antagonists, I really like her compared to others in the series.

I clicked on that spoiler smh

Wow, shocked at episode 6. It kind of needed it overall to raise the stakes and make things a bit more serious though.

Just got introduced to this anime.

Episode one got me hooked at that twist.

Episode 6 though...Christ...

I am so glad I gave the first episode a shot. This series has been pretty fun all around. There is also a 'Theater" version with a 2 minute short that accompanies each episode.

Lovely screen from the Akame ga Kill! Facebook page!

What the fuck!

Why didn't Sheele kill her when she was right in front of her! They said that killing the user would stop the Doggie so why didn't she kill her and save Mine from being crushed? Bullshit.

It wasn't mentioned in the anime but organic types can still go on for a bit even after their user's death.

Depends on what you're into. At its core, it's a typical shounen series, just really edgy, dark and over the top. If that sounds appealing, check it out.

I did, 3 episodes in and it's fucking awesome. Really liking it. I like that the main character is such a good guy and all the main characters are so damn strong. Also love how bloody and it is.

I watched this as a recommendation from a friend. Liking it so far. Weird that the thread is so barren. :S

I started this show on a whim and it's very... not bad. I won't say I am rushing to see each new episode, but the combat sequences are good enough to keep me coming back for the time being. I like the fact that the gruesome Gothic feel is somewhat reflected in the level of gore in the fight scenes

I'm in. Been watching since the first episode but just haven't commented in the thread. EP 6 was bloody brutal.

I can't wait to see what happens next.

Is General Liver the same General Bulat served under? Bulat split Daidara in half. I got some HxH vibes when Leone felt Esdeath's evil aura and Esdeath feeling a presence.

Thread is barren because it looks like any other cookie cutter anime. I've seen it around the internet and it didn't interest me at all. Character design is atrocious. Everything looks super lame. With all that said, reading the impressions and this OT. I will watch it. I am now interested. Thanks gaf!

I love how literal this adaptation is.

I also love this arc. Oh man. Can't wait to see some of the next fights animated.

Yeah, the character design is a downgrade. I'm not sure what they did to Tatsumi and Akame's face, but it bothers me.

Yes he is the same general... like I said before the anime is very faithful to the manga so I'll leave it at that.

Also wtf did they do to Esdeath's face? Lacking in so much detail... they could have at least put more effort into her.

I feel like the show retreads the dark, gritty tone I just felt from watching Attack on Titan last season, but combines it with a girl harem for the protagonist and throws a campy man on top of that for good measure. In spite of that, I like how the focus isn't on Tatsumi saving everyone (actually, he's quite inept at doing that for now), and how the main characters interact and get along with one another.

It's a bit boring how all enemies so far have been batshit insane and obviously evil, while everyone in Night Raid are anti-hero vigilantes with a dubious morality at best, but at least they're all kind of mad which results in entertaining fights (and stuff such as episode 6... man).

The way the show doesn't shy away from violence is interesting after having watched stuff such as AoT and Jojo, where they tend to censor the actual deaths, and I guess it could go places. It's not a show I'm reminded to watch every week without fail, but I'd say it's still a decent one.

marathoned the anime.

its okay. outside the violence its standard anime.
will check 2-3 more episodes

yeah it would have been nice if Sheele would have been taken out by a regular guard just doing their job (stopping the terrorist). nope gotta be insane and have fangs every evil laugh
