bad gameplay lol
Is Burst any good? I'm assuming it's download only on a Nintendo console, so it gotta be good enough for me to buy.

It's good, though the second half (the Hebijo story) isn't nearly as good as the first half, mostly due to most of the Hebijo characters not being very fun to play. But yeah, overall it's worth it.

God Damn I'm bored, I already beat Shovel Knight, finished typing a chapter, and don't feel like typing another 4000+ words tonight.

You could do what I'm doing and delve into the wonderful world of dating sims.

It's kind of the biggest fucking hassle to find them and English patches for them, but god, shit's fun.

I'm not sure, I've read bits and pieces of visual novels, but never actually read one. Hell, I actually just watched playthroughs of Fate/Stay Night and Tskihime.

I enjoy writing more than reading, (I do both very often,)

I hated visual novels for a long time, but they grew on me and I love them now.

And yeah, it's been months since I read a book all the way through for pleasure. I need to do it more.

Aaron I feel you're slowly starting to convert me
back to brown military shooters
.

Shhhhh, just get rid of those baka gaijin games and come in here, where it's warm and safe from judgement and bad times. We got all the flavors you could ever want. And I say that with no hyperbole.

Hahah, this might sound odd, but the sheer amount of FAnfction, amateur fiction I read is pretty funny. There is a lot of pointless garbage, but you can also find some entertaining pieces on there for free.

Though I wouldn't mind people writing more goofy or just fun Fanfiction.

This is less of a problem with Amateur fiction, that seems to be more than just romance compared to Fanficiton where romance is pretty much 70% of everything.

The last dating sim I played was the Rewrite Visual Novel and I died
from how fucking terrible it was
after I finished the Kotori route. Never again.

If I could actually draw worth a damn, I would make a Visual Novel, actually despite me not reading a lot of them (More due to the hassle than lack of interest) That would be my prime format to tell stories in.

Even more than just an Anime or Manga, it's really simple, can convey a scene properly, but not need so much prose that it need a book.

But alas, unless someone wants to read the first ever Visual Novel comprised completely of Stick figures, then it's best these hands never draw anything.

Edt: ^ fortunately you'd only need a few pieces of art. Maybe you can trick JoJo into drawing the Best Friends for a Zaibatsu VN. :p

Part of that is humans loving to talk and read about sex. It's in everything, and companionship and romance tie right into it. Add in that it's likely written by lonely people projecting their feels and there you have it. Plus the history of fanfiction goes back to the 60s with Kirk and Spock iirc. Lewd fanfiction has a large illustrious history.

That said I agree with your sentiment. I want more fun shit to read/laugh at!
Play CS:GO like a real man.

It's really fun.
Yeah CS:GO kicks ass even on the casual level.

I write and read romance fanfiction cause im a lonely, pathetic, otaku, weeaboo, nerd who would rather date a fictional character than a supermodel

I've heard that the One-punch man manga is like a deconstruction of the shonen genre in a totally comical way where it also seems fan-fictiony. I definitely plan to read it to because I live off of shonen anime/manga.

I'd say maybe 90% of my fanfiction is lewd. It's just a ton of fun to write and those damn creators are never going to make my lesbian ships canon, so it's up to me.

The most fun fanfic I ever wrote would probably be Gurren Lagann spoilers:
Kamina and Kittan hanging out in spiral heaven, getting into wacky hijinks.
I wouldn't say it's good, but it's certainly lighthearted and dumb.

One Punch Man is such a good parody that it actually does the thing it's making fun of better than almost anything else.

Captain Price is best waifu, you don't even know.

Could you perhaps link us to this amazing concept.

To be fair, the Fanfic I set you was pretty much just JoJo bizzare Adventure, but set in the Avatar universe, hell, it doesn't even Follow Korra or her friends.

One-Punch is great, read both the original with hilarious shitty art (which is much farther ahead and still giong) and the remake.

This is the level of crappy art the original is at.

A couple years ago I really wanted to make a VN, but then that idea died when I had to deal with programming/ renpy.

You shouldn't not make one because of your lack of art skills. Many beloved VNs have 'bad' art, like the When they Cry series, but the readers don't mind as the story made up for it.
Plus bad art tends to add charm, as I prefer the old Higurashi art to the new poop they're making for the Steam release

Lesbians are a cause worth dying for. I salute your efforts. Also that sounds pretty fun.

You don't want to see how bad my art skills are. They would ruin any drama or charm.

Naw, may draw some Zaibatsu stuff every now and then if I feel like it. But wanted to start focusing on my own stuff, and OC's, and ideas for web comics even more and building up my portfolio and classes.

As an added note man I felt incredibly nerdy when Matt and Woolie were talking about Kerning during the GameCon press conferences.

EDIT: I know you were joking lol but might as well say this any way :p

That sounds kind of like that webcomic Double K. It's basically Kamina and Kittan as buddy cops.

You know, it warmed my heart a little when I looked at the list of people donating to Plague on Patreon and saw Cranky Construct. Artists supporting artists, man. So awesome.

Yeah I'm just teasing ya man, obviously you can't be limited to one thing unless it interests you. Also FUCK bad kerning. Also: Inb4 obvious "keming" joke.

I have separated my physical efforts from those in my own time. That said I'm not one to give advice to someone about this. gettin real in here. Seriously though, don't let any problems like that depress you- I'll say that from experience. You end up depressed without doing anything about it or meeting anyone. (Apologies if your reply is just a joke though, I just see a lot of self-depreciation on the web that's pretty serious, and well... y'know.

Well its part a joke and part my own self esteem issues. This shits heavy doc
I started writing fanfiction mainly because I had been used by the girl I was in love with for four years, so as a way to cope and to escape reality I wrote a fanfiction about the same thing happening to the protagoinist but meeting someone and her being the person who he would fall in love with and yada yada. Then I met a girlfriend on the internet and we dated for about a year, and I was super happy cause she always said she loved me no matter what, and that really affected me deep down cause I had finally found someone who loved me for me. Then a year later I find out I had been getting catfished or basically just trolled. So now I really wanna go back to writing , not just my fanfiction, but also all of the stories that I want to write and hope that someday they will reach out to someone and make someone happy.all ive ever wanted to do is make people happy with something i created with my own hands.

Bad art might even make your work stand out more.

Very much so. At the very least, bad art adds more fun to the mix.

And if your story is good enough, stick figures can absolutely suffice; just look at stuff like Thomas was Alone. Make different color stick figures and go wild.

I've never had any relationship drama,
the worst it ever got was a girl didn't respond to a text
so I feel I'm totally qualified to give the definitive answer to all relationship issues:
Yo
,
fuck
that
shit.

EDIT: Sorry to hear that, shit sucks sometimes.

Well, that's why I write too, I like the idea of someone reading what I wrote and enjoying it, though I never base any of my characters on myself. But I always so it as, as long as you can make a few people happy/ enjoy your work, than it was worth it.

I'm shit at comforting people, but man that sounds rough. I can only send you tired internet stranger (friender?) feelings, but I hope you can be happy with what you've got. Low self esteem and depression isn't that fun, to say from experience, and no one can help you out of it easily without constant attention and help. In the meantime, just stick with the friends you have and try to be happy where you are.
I know you're talking about this in past tense mostly, but it's the only way I can think of to reply. That said I don't think I'm a good person to ask for advice, I'm working things out myself daily still, but hopefully you can have fun today instead of worrying about tomorrows.
