Why are people hyped for Pokken? It's been semi confirmed a long time ago and is just a meaningless offshoot on par with detective Pikachu.

I expect nothing less than a fullfat Pokemon game for the Wii U with online ranked multiplayer tournament matches, ready for this holiday (it's why Toad was moved out of the holiday season in Europe), that will singlehandedly move Wii U to 50M.

Are we NeoGAF or are we NeoGAF?

X & Y have online ranked multiplayer tournament matches, so why waste it on the Wii U? :p

We already know the pokemon company is beginning to dabble in the ios/android market, but what if they are about to announce a full blown big budget project exclusively on mobile devices. Is that in the realm of possibility or has that been ruled out?


My guess is still something Amiibo related for Wii U.

So before the big unveiling if it's Pokken, I want to bring up a thought.

I wonder if Arika might be the dev? They've been quiet since Dr. Luigi and Kuma-Tomo for 3DS (which was with Namco no less), plus Arika did Tekken 3D.

What's also worth noting, I believe a key classic Tekken person has been at NST for a LONG time. Why not recruit him on Pokken?

Fake edit: It was Masamichi Abe and he directed Tekken 2!

Edit: Which was part of the 99 cent PSN sale which I bought then, holy shit! :D

If this is Pokken, I'm really curious how Tekken it's going in terms of fighting mechanics.

It's another outlet for Amiibos this time with Pokemon. Good for the system. It's also would probably be a full 3D fighter.

Personally while Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be my 3D fighter of choice for years if not ever With those 59 characters, variety of modes and all those free costumes and accessories (DOA5 and Namco's FTP have made me scared for the future cost of cosmetic items). Pokemon is one of the few Nintendo franchises I don't like so I definitely won't get it.

I can still dream of Nintendo vs. Capcom though.

I feel for you boss doggie, as a starfox fan, wolf not being in, especially when sakurai himself wanted wolf in since melee hurts

I just casually stopped in here to see if there have been any developments and you guys got me hyped for this announcement.

I'm betting on Pokken, only this is gonna be an RPG style game and the battles will be fighting matches. Amiibos to make your team.
