There's our Xbox One in Japan photo for the next decade. Awesome.

Picture of chairs. Does Microsoft want to tell us that Persona 5 gonna be on XOne as well?

Yeah but this is pretty much nothing comparing to all the exclusives that were announced around 360 launch in Japan back in 2005; DOA4, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Dead Rising, N3, Chromehounds, Enchanted Arm, Ridge Racer 6, Rumble Roses XX, Tenchu, Frame City Killer (lol) ... plus bunch of smaller stuff.

Konami should make a new Rumble Roses dammit.

It's these types of shots that makes me hate Sony.... and I don't hate Sony!! How is he even a CEO!? He sounds like someone in high school!!!

Uhhh I am sure you are not that naive. Right?

The guy would have lost his job so fast his head would spin. Especially in Japan. None of the Japanese employees take jabs at the competition. It's all American and Europe employees that do it.

Not true. Ken Kutaragi took massive shots at the 360 at the launch of that Gen.

I know people would prefer for the xbox launch to be as unsuccessful as possible but god damn.

Nah. There may be a small minority who truly do wish for the Xbox brand to go down in flame, but the majority are in the don't care/for the lols club. Some are even all for the Xbox doing well in Japan. That money into Japanese console devs means more games, and some may even come to their platform of choice.

This is less of a laugh of how bad Xbone is and more to do with the purposeful disinterest in the Xbone just because it isn't Nintendo/Sony.

If I limited myself to English made games only I wonder how lacking my entertainment would be.

I managed to make just one Japanese person like the Xbone more than PS, through Dance Central. That's it.

So that's your in depth assessment of the situation, is it? Japanese gamers should buy an Xbox one out of some random guilt about not buying enough foreign electronics? Nevermind the near complete lack of advertising, the fact that the console was clearly designed with an America-first approach, is underpowered compared to the PS4 and the fact that the little goodwill MS gained last gen was probably squandered after the Japanese Xbox 360 games dried up.

Let's turn this around a little. What is #1 in the sales charts in the US right now? On average, how often is the #1 selling game a western developed one? You know why that is? Because the games are targeted at western audiences. And true, those games also sell in Japan, but it's only natural that games created in Japan by Japanese people will naturally appeal more to Japanese people.

Yes, it's a tough market to crack, but it's not impossible. Apple has proven this by designing products that are desirable to Japanese consumers and marketing them well. Microsoft?

Take your nonsensical accusations of Xenophobia elsewhere. Japanese people buy western products all the time. It just so happens that few western electronics companies produce products that appeal to Japanese consumers.

Publishing a game is hardly "moneyhatting" it.

Depends on the context.

If Microsoft came out with a multi-billion dollar deal with Rockstar/Take Two to co-publish GTA6 (and get exclusivity on the title), that would still be a money-hat even though they'd be publishing it.

I've already been told it was a mock account, but thanks!! But you can't say Japanese companies don't take jabs when Sony took jabs at MS during the past two E3's... MS was the one that praised Sony and Nintendo right out the gate before even starting their conference...

Either way, yeah it was a joke account... I wouldn't think they would be that extreme about it

One, calm down.

Two, stop continuing an argument you clearly had with someone else and gearing it towards me.

Three, read the follow-up post I made.

I never said anything about buying shit because of anti-xenophobia or whatever you want to pass me off as. The fact that gamers aren't even taking a look means they won't see if they are interested or not. There was a Japanese guy before who was trying his best to get more Japanese people to try out Forza while there was a lack of Gran Tuismo, but because it was "lol, Xbox?" not many people even gave it a go to see if they liked it.

My comment about me limiting myself to English games is a separate point. I'm not implying it they chose to hate MS because it is "American", of course not. But like a lot in the industry and almost every gamer I come across in the UK, "Microsoft console? Must be a BSOD POS".

It's a shame. I'm not trying to make out it is an outrage.

But sure, let's lol at MS and not experience their games because their adverts suck. You know little about how advertisement works in Japan, many companies don't have too much say in how they direct them, the same companies will advertise competitors over there and it is pretty darn obvious adverts like Bill eating a burger is a Lost in Translation situation rather than MS incompetence or lack of interest in Japanese culture.

True Sony has been taking jabs at MS. But so far I have only witnessed America and Europe employees, post Ken Kutaragi doing it.

I'll say it again, but come TGS, I would hate to hear that MS is locking major third party titles from Capcom (DMC5) or Namco (Dark Souls 3), etc. I mean, MS has to have a strategy launching in Japan, right? They wouldn't just release the console and let it die by not recruiting devs to work exclusively on the console.

And its not like Wii U/PS4 is setting the world on fire, so I am sure that makes the decision for Japanese developers that much easier.

Sorry for the rant

Wow... People are trolling hard the Xbox One huh? So much mockery here.

It is however expected that the console wont do good in Japan. It never did, and if the X360 that was much more successfull on its 1st year could not do it, I guess the surprise would be if the Xone was capable to make it different! But I hope that MS fight for a minor parcel of the market.

Someone needs to put a red filter over the whole image and then put the p5 logo on top.

You just set a light bulb off in my brain.
What if the Sony Pre-TGS conference was to stifle Xbox One's launch from the very start?
The news of Persona 5, and Dragon Quest were huge for Japan's market.
Anyone know about the planning of the Xbox release, and Sony's conference?

Dont think it takes a ploy to make Xbone launch badly in japan.
