The Last of Us: Remastered |OT| Game of the Years

I didn't find it so bad tbh. In fact all the bits I thought would be hard after my easy play through were OK on my survivor+ run.

I was pretty much upgraded on everything though so that probably helped, although I don't imagine a first play on survivor would be too hard if you have played the game already. The enemies seem to go down in the same amount of shots and there was no more of them than on easy. The biggest differences were enemy awareness, no listen mode and pretty much zero supplies / ammo for most of the game. The lack of supplies just means you really need to play the game stealthily but it isn't too hard if you have played through it before and know enemy positions, etc. I wouldn't say I was frustrated by any of it, however some bits do require you to be perfect with your shots, such as the whole David / mill sequence but for the most part you can rely on stealth or sneaking past enemies to progress. Also, I found Elle was more useful in Survivor mode as she frequently gave me ammo when I was low or had run out and was knifing enemies like there was no tomorrow.

Anyway, whatever you choose I'm sure you will have fun (again!) :)
Thanks! Will try survivor then.

Platinum get! Grounded done.

Just left behind to play through for the first time ever.

Went straight from hard to grounded plus as having finished it 3 times the first time it came out another 3 would of been overkill.

Grounded was pretty straight forward. Only died 90 times. Think that includes hard mode though. Even then some of them was getting grabbed in purpose for photomode opportunites.

Games amazing on grounded. Makes you play so careful.

Never knew you could get through the whole of the
Hospital
without fighting anybody. Just threw a bottle at that one bloke that bashes through the staircase door then ran in.

Actually got from the
Dam
to the end in just a few hours. The hardest fight in the game was definately the
Dam
.

The earlier sections of the game can be cheesed with just your fists. I saved all my ammo for the last section and never even shot one bullet. Lol oh well. Used every round on the
Doctors
instead lol.

Hope I can 100% this by Tuesday for obvious reasons.

As a new Ps4 owner and coming from X360, I finished my first playthrough on normal yesterday evening.
My girlfriend watched the whole game and it was an amazing experience.
She got hooked and forced me to play most of the time. We fucking loved Ellie.

We were steadily baffled by the quality of this game. The story, the characters, the atmosphere. There were some really intense moments. I think it's in my top 3 of all time. And my expectations were very high!

We have yet to go through Left Behind, maybe tonight.

After some time I will play on a harder difficulty, but I honestly don't think I can beat this game without the listen mode, I might break my controller or die of heart attack.

If you love Ellie, then you are both going to love Left Behind.

Yeah the last segment of "The Hunt" is possibly the hardest fight of TLOU. I thoroughly shared Ellie's disbelief when it was all over since I spent a good two hours on it.

2x Hunting rifle bullets
2x Arrows
1x Molotov
No health kits

gg ND.

You play throught the multiplayer weeks as firefly and hunter??? If not, you have a long way to go.

Anybody interested in putting a group together to boost some multiplayer Trophies?

Just not a fan of multiplayer(I suck at it) but would love to Platinum the game. Looking for people to boost the following Trophies with:

Knowing the Basics
Win a game of Supply Raid and Survivors in find match

Populace
Build your clan to 40 people in Factions

Firefly
Complete the Firefly Journey

Hunter
Complete the Hunter Journey

TBH I don't know how you would go about boosting some of those Trophies, but I am willing to figure it out since there's no way I'll get those Trophies otherwise.

Evolved1

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything

They are super easy honestly.... clan of 40 you could get being the worst player every round. 40 is super easy to get.

As far as finishing the journey, you just have to play. Any time you get a 100% risk mission, you pick heals. Make sure you have a class with first aid 3 equipped. You can literally ignore every other meta game mission apart from the 3-4 100% risk missions. And heals are so easy to get, you should complete it first day every time. There is no risk. If by some weird-ass sequence of events you are about to fail day 3 on a 100% mission, just dashboard. It's not that big of a deal if you wait till the end of the round.

You don't understand how bad I am at multiplayer lol. Just played a game of Survivors, and didn't get one down/kill/whatever and spent the whole match getting my ass kicked whether I was sneaking and trying to play smart, or running around like a madman. It just doesn't work for me. I'm terrible. Everybody in the game was around the same level as me, and they were kicking ass hard. I was pretty much a giant handicap for my team.

:/

I'm on my Ground+ playthrough. Opened the second Shiv door and baam, Trophy. A door I already had open on my first one. Why is it so hard for ND to keep track of the collectibles?

I hate to say it but Survivor is where the serious players are mostly at. The one's that actually care. Hence more stealthy and a slower pace. You might would do better at Interrogation. Just sit tight until you see someone trying to interrogate your teammate and down them. Then revive your teammate. Rinse and repeat.

Definitly in a delimma now. My PS+ runs out in a month. I'm on week 7 of my last multiplayer period. This would be the last trophy to Platinum!

Then I get Destiny today?! Split time between the two, go balls to the wall and don't open Destiny til I get the trophy, or get lost in Destiny?

Completed the game on Survivor + yesterday and I didn't get the 'I want to talk about it' trophy while I followed a guide :(, also missed one shiv door and haven't fully upgraded my weapons yet. I'll probably do an easy+ run and blast my way through enemies.

In the last level on survivor + I just
blasted my way trough, grabbed the flamethrower, flamed some mofo's down, one shot the rest with the diablo (that gun is awesome) and killed the rest from afar with the remaining bullets and the hunting rifle. Did that level in 10 minutes or something :p I believe I had a shitton of bullets because I stealthed my way trough the last portion of the game a lot

I went through this game a few weeks ago without upgrading any abilities. Didn't even realize you could until I came into this thread and saw people saying to upgrade your listen mode if you were having difficulty. I feel like a damn fool lol.

Did you have tutorials off? It pretty much tells you to in the beginning stages.

Maybe I upgraded whatever it told me to in the beginning and then forgot about the system. I'm not really sure. All I know is I never upgraded anything, I used the spare parts or whatever they were on weapon upgrades exclusively.

Ability upgrades don't use parts like weapon upgrades, they use "supplements," which you mostly find as pills, but some plants give them to you as well.

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask (can't find where I'd post) but I finally got into next gen with Last of Us as my 1st game. Still getting used to PS4's menu, when you start it up and it always asks me to choose between my profile, or "new user" is there a wait for it just to jump into my profile in the settings? And I can't seem to find my Last of Us save file to check progress/playtime in the main menu (ps4 home menu) is there a way to get to it? I looked under "overview" in the Last of Us icon but can't find it. Thanks for any help :)

Well, first playthrough ever and for a reason still unknown I decided I would do it on grounded.

Just finished the game and boy was it hard, took me a very long time. But what can I say, this game is close to perfection especially with the difficulty, and this story..man MAN MAN, I WANT MOOOOOOORE.

Very satisfying considering I had started the ps3 version but my ps# died on me with the game still in it around the beginning of the game...

Auto Log-in

Settings > Users > Login Settings > Log in to PS4 automatically

Saves

Settings > Application Save Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Upload to Online Storage > TLoU > Options (button on controller) > Information.

There might be an easier way to deal with the saves, but this is how I've always done it. You can select Delete instead of upload to online storage, but I don't want to take the risk and accidentally delete a save.

Week old ps4 owner here, woo!

The update wigged my system out a bit. It was on a splash screen without a loading bar for a bit. I started to mess around in the OS UI while I was waiting and the UI lagged out for 20 seconds. I hope nothing is wrong with my ps4 :(

Thanks god for 60fps! No 30fps ghosting/judder on my plasma! :D Not sure if I want to replay first or go straight to the DLC story.

Picked up the game Sunday, finished the main campaign and Left Behind. Wanted to talk about Left Behind for a bit.

Really loved some of the stuff they did with Left Behind, the arcade segment was one of the most unique things I've seen. While I normally hate QTE segments I thought it was a really clever way of putting one into a game. You can tell that a lot of work and love went into crafting the Riley segments, with the water gun fight, Halloween store with the magic eight ball, and the joke book. I actually had a few chuckles from the magic eight ball and the pun book was pretty charming. Overall the character interaction is just exceptionally done and is arguably more memorable or better than stuff in the main campaign.

The biggest change in the winter mall segments was obviously integrating human and infected enemies in the same area. I can kind of see why this wasn't implemented into the main campaign though, sometimes the human AI would get janky fighting infected and do odd things like run in circles.

Got the game for Ps4. Will be my second playthrough. First time was on Ps3. I'm pretty excited to see the upgrades and to relieve the story. Also looking forward to the MP, which I will be playing for the first time.

Multiplayer is awesome and very fluid with the 60fps jump. I played non stop from launch until Destiny came out. Platinumed it and am waiting for the next chapter in this series.

Quick question. Whilst playing the single player sometimes on the bottom left hand side of the screen as an animation of a controller tilting to the right.

What did that do? I could never figure it out because there didn't seem to be a reaction to doing that in the game.

I want to say your flashlight is dimming...shake your controller a little. It should stop and your batteries magically start working again on your light.

aarrgghhh help me GAF!

I'm at the sewers on grounded and have no weapons other than one bomb!

I have used this method to get to the end (using the bomb in place of the bow and arrow):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwwE6Uo2fTY

But with no weapons I can't get past the clicker...please GAF - SAVE MY SANITY!

lol, I thought I'd give it one last try and this time the triangle at the end became available - did the exact same thing, really odd...now I'm stuck at the next spike! lol

Just finished Left Behind. Awesome expansion. Overall I liked it more than the main campaign. While it's a lot less than say Uncharted, overall I got really burned out on shooting all those people, so the more condensed story heavy approach of Left Behind was a welcome change. It's nicer to scavenge a gift shop for story interaction than the millionth piece of scissors imo.

Finally finished TLOU... amazing game without a doubt. A couple of small nit pick things but overall a fantastic experience. Excited to play through the DLC now.

Currently stuck in the sewers (separated from Ellie part) on Grounded mode with a bullet in my rifle and a bullet in my revolver.

I was able to sneak through on my first ever play through on normal but since then I've only played on survivor where I've held down a corner and blasted until there was nobody left. But that's not an option now.

Without sounding too moany, I honestly think Grounded is a little too hard for enjoyment. The checkpoints are sometimes stupid and the enemies a little OP, especially as Joel isn't meant to be a complete pushover.

So far, Survivor was the most incredible balance between item management, surviving, difficulty etc. and my favourite run by far.

Well not sure you'll be able to make it through the way I did (I used two arrows), but you can sneak most of it outside of 2 enemies that are in your way. Without those two silent kills I am not sure how you can sneak through it.

So I've finished the game 2 weeks or so ago on hard difficulty with hearing turned off. Now I'm ready for a 2nd round - which difficulty should I choose? Should I go with NG+?

If you are up for the challenge go for grounded, and I recommend NG+. If you want an even bigger challenge don't go the NG+ route.
