Glitch in Destiny reveals DLC details and content is partially on Disc

The game has grown on me from going from really enjoyable mechanics to being a hell of a fun game overall, but I'm not going to blindly excuse the on-disc content. It is and always has been a fairly shitty practice.

As for the strikes/missions/Raids on existing planets, that was already a given between the information given about the first DLC/Expansion and people glitching into areas. With it being as close to release of the vanilla game, expecting a new planet was a tremendous reach and, sorry, is on those who believed rather than on Bungie.

Also, people can knock it off with the attitude of Destiny is some untouchable, holy artifact. I don't care if you're friends with people involved in the development or it's your latest obsession; nothing is immune to discussion or criticism.

If some people would have just read the entire thread for two pages before posting this would have been such a clean one.

Right now people are saying the exact same thing dozens of others have, and they have also been corrected for being false with their statements.

While the PVP is adequate it's significantly worse than Halo by far.

Destiny isnt halo. Expecting halo multiplayer on a new IP at release is setting the bar ludicrously high. I have more fun playing destiny pvp than halo pvp despite halo pvp being better.

I wasn't planning on buying it. And once halo is downloaded to my hdd, i'll never touch destiny or another peer to peer multiplayer game again.

It's not the content or lack thereof that kills this game for me. It is the bad loot and the screw you legendary mess, and the utter fucking shit peer to peer multiplayer.

Really, the shit flavoured topping of this nasty little cake is how they have handled the mutiplayer. All that money invested, and couldn't even be bothered to provided dedicated servers! I wonder what the next cods on-line set-up will be?

They showed footage of The Reef area back in early 2013

Dat pay wall...

and subsequently my disappointment of the lack of content these DLCs will add. Not to mention they are already on the disc.

The future is now bleak
well for the Destiny sequels

I wonder which writer(s) at Bungie did a hack-job on this (at least) serviceable story.

While watching the credits I was surprised to see around 10 people had writing credited. Really did feel like a too many cooks/focus tested panic change.

What really bugs me is mercury. Clearly they had the planet planned out, the planet was arted for when you flew there, but the (single) map just feels lazy. Rehash of Venus vex geometry (which I really don't like to begin with - just weird abstract cubes, no sense of thought or design). And to top it off it looks incomplete too (parts seem to be badly textured, etc).

I was (I think rightly) expecting the first DLC to be set there, actually fleshed out. But if it's just some additional paths through existing content then I'll be severely disappointed. I already regret buying the digital guardian version as it is, I am hoping to get some satisfaction :-/

It just proves that the content was already planned (which we knew already) and they knew where to place this content in the world.

Also those icons could have been added with the latest patch.

It's okay to enjoy fast food I suppose. Just don't expect everyone else to enjoy it.

Doesn't seem like the dlc is going to turn things around for my feelings on Destiny. Just seems more of the same. I sure hope they can learn some lessons and make a better product for the sequel. My copy will be going towards Forza Horizon 2 on Tuesday. GameStop is still giving $40 for it.

Hell yeah i cant wait for more of the same tight gunplay and pvp maps.

So anything under 80 in metascore is basically crap?

For a regular ass developer without pedigree, no, under 80 isn't necessarily crap. For Bungie who basically defined Xbox as a shooter console who has multiple 90's scored games, it's kinda crap. Especially after 5 years of work.

I preferred the timeline that's in some of the grimoire stuff which points at Rasputin, the war AI going rampant and deciding the only way to save mankind was to wipe it out and triggering the collapse of the golden age.

Exploring that and how it ties in to where the world is when you get brought into it could have been awesome.

wow, that would have been BALLER yeah !

You should take your own advice. In this thread you casually insult people who like destiny "people spend time on bad games" "people like fast food" get off your high horse. Sorry destiny isnt halo. Its not going to be maybe you should get over it.

No one's forcing you to eat fast food.

Your statement is not relevant as I enjoy the gunplay in PvE. PvP is where it becomes more problematic.

You being defensive and doing mental gymnastics about Destiny is not my problem. Like what you like but to act offended in the face of civil criticism is silly.

The only false statement is your tag.

Where's that guy that posted a video of him Blade Dancing through the energy door on Venus? I stopped watching so I wouldn't be spoiled, but now I'm more curious as to how "finished" the area is.

While I am excited for the expansions, I have to admit, I will be disappointed if they're just expanding the current areas and not adding new ones. I don't need a new planet, but I want to see something other than more ruined Russia.

I dont see the problem. Destiny is treated like a MMO by everyone and Bungie. These are your major patches. Instead of paying per month to play, you pay per for your major patches instead. If you didnt see this, you werent paying attention.

Content on the disc was a given. MMOs do the same. Each patch contains elements of the next.

What do you mean?

This doesn't make too much sense. Halo 3 is my favorite game ever, so every other game to me is "worse." I guess, in that way, I do have fun playing worse games.

No, he said he had more fun playing Destiny PVP, even though he said it wasn't as good as Halo PVP. So I asked "so you have more fun playing worse games" It's his opinion.
