Glitch in Destiny reveals DLC details and content is partially on Disc

Don't do what? He/she is making a statement and presenting it as a matter of reality. How does she/he know for sure?

Okay.

Because they made this DLC more than a year and a half ago. Do you really think Bungie made any drastic changes to their mission design?

If MS had published this game like most of Bungie's more recent titles, it would have been a lot different. Way more complete. Even if it was partly Bungie's idea, the publisher's job is to step in and be like "You have no fucking content, go fix it" or "There's way too much here."

This is the same MS that was OK with the microtransaction scamming in Forza 5 not even a year ago.

I would be shocked if the DLC isn't more of the same. Just for the hell of it I kind of hope all the DLC missions are carbon copies of that mission that gives you a sword.

Literally the only mission that showed any sort of variation and it was awesome. it's a shame there were more of them

I sure a lot of the people complaining about this are going to ignore this post to keep pushing their agenda.

While I agree people need to not lose their heads over this, what is there to say that people who are complaining have agendas?

I could easily say plenty of people defending the game could be pushing an agenda. Doesn't make it true.

You literally have no basis for this, Bungie signed the contract and knew what they were in for when they split. Trying to absolve them of this fiasco is ridiculous because they made good games in the past.
The publisher didn't do their job. Bungie was arrogant or maybe ignorant, but somebody up top was happy to let them do it. Activision was irresponsible, that's all I'm saying. If it was MS or someone else it wouldn't have happened, regardless of whose dumb idea it was this time.

Sure, we can play that card and you're technically right, I haven't played it, but what's the chances that I'm wrong based on what the game is already and the descriptions of those missions when highlighted?

Well, to be fair, your statement had a vague part when it came to "style" and "format." So are you talking about waves of enemies as your Ghost hacks something? Because that's entirely debatable.

If you're talking about "style" and "format" as using specific parts of the patrol map to craft 15 - 20 minute missions, then yeah, I'd say that's likely.

If people found the whole raid done on disc ahead of time I could see the outrage. Instead, two half finished missions with geometry and walls missing all over the place were found.

*shrug*

The game itself is half finished, which explains the reactions.

More complete with micro-transactions maybe.

Why are people surprised at no new planets? They directly said that they have no plains for planet dlc just expansion on existing areas.

That's pretty terrible considering there's only one spawn point per planet (starting from the tower). So again it's traversing the same environments in order to find the new spot that's been opened up? For $20?

.

I don't, but the DLC has likely been made for quite some time now or at least planned and the fact that 99% of the missions in the main game are almost the exact same as each other I'd say there's a high statistical chance that they will be the same. If even just for the fact that they take place on already existing areas so even if they're slight variants they will still feel very similar due to repeating geometry we've all seen dozens of times by now.

You have no idea how much I'd love to be proven wrong though, I really mean that

In what universe does the publisher give a shit about content in the game?

They want two things, return on investment and the ability to franchise. They have those two things with Destiny, considering the DLC will be 2/3 the cost of the base game and fractions of the cost of development.

Destiny would be better off with microtransactions. At least then those would be use to fund expansions instead of splitting the player base.

"Oh hey dude, what a cool legendary! Where did you get it??"

"Oh, I bought it for $3.50 off the marketplace"

Yea, sounds fucking great.

Maybe if they would include in the base game areas they showed in demos it wouldn't be a huge deal.

Yay! Even more of the same stuff for us to play over and over and over again.... Good thing I love the crucible. I haven't even beaten all the content got pretty bored with it real quick.

That's not true at all. When Gearbox wanted to give away the Mechromancer DLC content to preorder people, he had to go and ask 2K if that was ok. Publisher definitely has a say in content.

Real talk, though, I'd pay for like $10 just for the new raid. All that other garbage they want to shove in there to fluff it up can go away.

Edit: I'd pay $5 just for a button to skip cut-scenes. WTF, Bungie?

Wow that's nothing. Each mission is like 10 minutes long and consists of that shitty dinklage robot saying "hey fuckboy I'm gonna scan this door and a bunch of enemies are gonna pop up, keep shooting them while I talk about Rasputin and shit"

This is best description of the Destiny story overall I have ever read.

In terms of what? Style of encounters or the way the missions are set up (using areas from patrol mode)?

They have a narrative built in their minds and they will gloss over things in order to fit this into it.
Every Destiny thread in gaming, over and over and over and over.

It's not even amusing anymore, it's just pathetic. People really will twist anything to strengthen that narrative. This thread it's pulling issues that have been discussed to death for an entire goddamn generation, with people jumping to conclusions. In the review thread it's selective ignorance of game content. Pre-release it was ignorance of details ("LOL ONLY 5 AREAS?").

I don't even know why im posting this really. People will continue to shitpost because it's the latest thing to get upset about, and will only consider technicalities that support that narrative.

I said give a shit. If they are going to make less content and more money, what publisher would actually object?

Also 2K is about to release this

So I'm not sure how much they really care about content vs development cost.

I think you give them too much credit. I highly doubt the inclusion of micro-transactions would fund anything more than more micro-transactions.

Same design. Drop into area, travel to location, scan something and have to fight off waves of enemies.

Not only that but these missions seem to be taking place in similar areas too so they will feel samey even if certain variables are tweaked because we're not seeing anything new level wise
