Thought I'd bring my funky new laser into work so I can sort out the microphone sensitivity. Someone else brought in a ukelele. Now we have the most absurd daytime nightclub in England.

Next on the 'to buy' list is a smoke machine.

Am I the only one who thinks The Order looks staggeringly dull?

I think it looks almost exactly like a Penny Dreadful tie-in game, and I haven't even watched Penny Dreadful.

Spent most of last night socialising with VAGUE, a role-playing and war-gaming society.

I would not be caught dead role-playing or war-gaming.

I like the look and the setting but yeah it just looks like a run of the mill third person shooter. I remember getting excited by previews describing some crazy stuff they were doing with the physics in-game but I've seen no evidence of that beyond swishy coat tails.

If you're getting a smoke machine you need to get a strobe light too

Pretty sure I've still got one lying around from my late 90's adventures. I'll just be using the laser though, it has those funky strobing bars that swoosh around the room like some crazy sci-fi weapons system when they hit the smoke. Badass.

Seems like a smoke machine will only cost me about £30 on the bay. Bargain.

Dont forget Pyrotechnics.

I think the next level of club technology would be quadrocopters flying around with strobes and cameras.

Slightly obsessed with this record at the minute mate, I reckon it'll baste your turkey too. It's stuffed full of sexy, pulsating basslines and sweet, moreish vocal hooks:

BANKS - Alibi

BANKS - Fuck Em Only We Know

BANKS - And I Drove You Crazy

The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets comes out on Monday then SBTRKT playing Albert Hall Tuesday, fuck yes. I might have to skip Marmozets at Deaf Institute on Wednesday though because skint/probably knackered/apparently no-one else wants to go.

Fuck you guys.

Hey, what's a cool present for a boy turning 13? Wife has already shot down the suggestions of fags, booze & porn and he's already into minecraft so any ideas what the kids are into?

Steam gift voucher? or steam wallet codes as they're officially called.

I give books normally [and by normalcy I mean 99.9% of the time]. Funny thing is, I'd probably give him Junk going by this list:

Depends if he was a yes or no.

Haha, it's my nephew, he's Scottish by birth but has spent most of his life in England. Got him a quadcopter thing with a camera, basically a drone to spy in people's windows. It's what I would have wanted at that age.

Oh yeah, I considered a drumkit. Last year my brother came over to visit and bought my son a Nerf gun as a gift. My son then shot his bedroom window and smashed it. If I'd bought a drumkit I think my brother & wife would just shrug their shoulders and accept it.

I'm travelling back down South to Cambridge tomorrow, anyone got any suggestions for a movie I could download tonight for watching on the train tomorrow? The longest part of the train journey is about 2 hours, so something slightly less than that would be good, and obviously it needs to be suitable for public viewing, so no sexy and/or grossout stuff. Yeah I'll be using headphones but people can still see the screen, so.

Any ideas?

I'm knackered after doing some 'trials' for the university Computer Science football team, which mainly consisted of playing a 7-a-side and then an 11-a-side game.

How's the iPhone? Is it bent yet?

Here are some American tabloid covers to cheer you up

Are the meetups always in London? Or do you have a regional franchise?

We had one in Newcastle once, and no one showed up. Except a few people from London/South East.

There's been a few mini meets in Manchester which has proved a little more successful. Of course people are more than welcome to arrange their own meets wherever they want and we have tried encouraging people to do so whenever the Northerners start complaining about meets always being in London, but it seems that no one wants to take charge and organise!

So the main quarterly meets will more than likely continue to be in London, and if anyone wants to try arranging one elsewhere they can!

Gutted I missed the meet, looks like fun, and I've been meaning to go to EGX for some time.

This weekend I had far too much beer and takeaways and now I feel like a slimy dirtbag

Morning all! Didn't get back to Glasgow until late last night due to such a wank bus service. Serves me right for taking the megabus I suppose. Still, weekend was such a great laugh. Here are some pics.
