Thank you. I was on my own rant earlier, so I missed that. I rely on who I get my links from, so I posted it. Now their not so claimed permission for using the Unreal logo seems interesting as well.

Without some kind of amazing twist on this concept (or outright parody/satire/commentary because the dialogue in the beginning is over the top as hell), my gut reaction is that this is pretty disgusting if they play it straight. It's one thing to kill civilians in GTA and draw out the cops because that's a systemic open world sandbox, it's another thing to build a game totally around killing innocents with the kind of extreme nihilism and murder spree glorification this trailer shows.

There looks to be some talent here, so it would be a waste if they don't do something creative with the concept.

I started laughing at some point during the trailer. The fact that this game even exists is short circuiting my brain.

Anyway, the visuals are surprisingly solid but the narration did nothing for me, and it kinda has to for this sort of game to work.

I'm curious about the gameplay though. As offensive as the core concept is, it brings the possibility for mechanics unique to the untapped "mass murder simulation" genre. Or not.

I didn't notice at first either but the amount of black victims in the trailer is much more disturbing than the gore itself.

In my opinion, I don't think that is enough proof to call them racist. Most shooting games have you killing mostly White/ Asian people, but that shouldn't indicate that those developers are racist.

I'm not talking about the random guy's shirt. I'm talking about one of their devs/animators openly supporting a hate group.

And the team releases a video that just happens to have a bunch of asians and black people brutally executed...yeah. I guess that's ok though, because the protagonist looks like a "light-skinned black guy with dreads" that somehow speaks with a polish accent. The mental gymnastics are amazing.

This YouTube comment seems to have missed the entire point of why people are upset over this game. Whether people want to admit it or not, context and tone do matter when it comes to violence in games or any other piece of entertainment media out there. Utilizing the concept of being an exploitative murder simulator as a selling point is what people are having issues with.

So is Nathan Drake justified in what he does? Does the context of his universe (read: treasure hunting) justify him killing as many people as he does in the Uncharted games? Look how many bandits you kill in Borderlands. How many human beings you kill in Fallout or Elder Scrolls. And for what purpose? Does that purpose, justify the murder of all of those people within the game's context?

You can argue all day whether or not character is justified in their particular universe, game or situation. Afterall, it's just fiction. It's make believe. It's not real. So perhaps the entire discussion, altogether is silly. Hmmm?

People don't want this particular game to get attention but you guys talking about it is doing just that. If you really dislike this sort of stuff, I suggest just keeping your mouth shut, ignore it and not give it the attention you claim it doesn't deserve.
