I hope those waiting for a PC version of Sunset Overdrive aren't expecting it before 2016 at the very least.

Capcom are capable of publishing DR3 themselves, presumably it was always part of the deal.
And it seems the Microsoft/Crytek relationship over Ryse ended, possibly due to the rumours MS wanted IP ownership and Crytek said no.
If SO sells well enough that MS/Insomniac want to keep working together, then maybe they won't do a PC port and will just focus on a sequel (or maybe they will port, it could work either way), I don't think its quite as cut and dry as Ryse and DR3, considering the obvious circumstances.

A bunch of people who were never goign to buy an Xbox One getting all giddy over the possibility to play one of its exclusives on PC.

You're surprised? Aren't you supposed to be the community manager? Were you not aware that there's a significant portion of Insomniac fans who won't be playing your next game because of its exclusivity? Hell, I love you guys, but not enough to buy an Xbone when I already have a PS4 and a PC.
It honestly shouldn't be surprising that this game is desired by a lot more people than just those who own an Xbox One. There's TONS of PlayStation gamers who feel badly that they won't be able to play your next game. The idea of it coming to PC helped alleviate that concern, so of course we're going to hope it's true.
Now I'll just go back to hoping you guys can hit it out of the park so we see some of the Insomniac love on PlayStation someday too.

Actually I'm sure there are also a few people who own an Xbone who also have a gaming PC and would like the option of playing the game at 1080p (or higher) and at 60fps...?

I wish it was real. I have an X1 and on the one hand Ive been starving to play something on it. Something to pull me away from PS4 and Wii U. But this is also the kind of game I think would truly be incredible at 60 FPS and all the settings maxed out. I would easily skip the X1 version and get it on PC. Please be true.
Yep that is is me. I think any gamer should always want there to exist a best version of a game if possible. Even if you dont have a PC or PS4 you should want there to at least be that option for others. Because really, if X1 is what you have and what you were always going to play it on, then who cares if others have options to play it with superior performance. In this case the game isn't on PS4. But it would be awesome if a PC version existed to overcome the X1s limitations,

This kind of mistake is pretty normal, many and many times I see these wrong listings. If it was a PC version announcement it is pretty obvious that it would not happen like that.
So no... This mistake is not a big thing. But people wanted to turn it on a big thing.

I know better than to trust anything in gaming PR right now, especially with the lead up to release.

It's not just because it's an Xbox exclusive, at least not for me.
It's because this is an Insomniac game, a developer I've followed since the PS2 days. This is their first game I won't be buying since I have no interest in buying an Xbox One for a single game.
Now, if I won a system, or was given one, I'd buy the crap out of this game.

But hey this is the perfect chance to pick up the Sunset Overdrive bundle! I'm getting the game on Tuesday, I'm excited and can't wait. It's going to be pure fun.
All the PS4 and PC fans should consider buying an Xbox one. There's also FH2, Halo and a bunch of other fun games in the pipeline. This isn't even about 1080p or 60 FPS. It's about fun!

I need to! I actually loved Horizon 1. Ive just been addicted to DriveClub, The Evil Within and now Bayonetta 2/Smash 3DS. But I'll make sure to grab Horizon probably next week when I'm done with all of that (except Smash). I really do expect Horizon 2 to be incredible.

I think you're missing the point. It's not because its exclusive, at least not for me.
It's because its Insomniac. I don't care much for Xbox exclusives because I've never played those franchises before. They weren't previously on PlayStation and the new and upcoming exclusives won't ever be on PlayStation so why worry about it?
But I've played Insomniac games since the PS2 days and absolutely love the developer. I wish them tons of success with this game. Doesn't mean I don't wish I could play it on one of the two major game systems I use. Last I heard that Ratchet game was essentially a glorified movie tie-in. It's a complete retcon of the story. Until I see more, I don't see the point in pointing that one out as if throwing PlayStation fans a bone is enough to distract from the fact that I'm not able to help support a company I followed for ages. Business is business, and I'm not upset at them for taking this chance. It's the best offer they could have gotten. It'll be great to see how it helps them grow.
Plus, the original question was "why is this so long on something so silly". I can assure you, to PlayStation Insomniac fans, it isn't really all that silly to hope for more chances to play their next game.

If Insomniac didn't release Fuse (their first major multiplatform game) on PC yet why would Sunset Overdrive be the game to buck the trend?
Which is not to say that it'll never happen but it just seems unlikely given their track record for PC releases.

If you love Insomniac so much, buy an Xbox One for the game. It's almost as ridiculous as Xbox fans being salty for not getting day and date DLC for Destiny.
Yeah, those aren't franchises I've ever played before. I can remain ignorant of what I'm missing out on.
Insomniac games, however, are things I played the hell out of. I'm eager to see them succeed, but damn did I want to play it. Sorry, though. There simply isn't enough value in it for me to buy a third modern games machine for a single game and a handful of franchises that don't seem to be strong enough to hold the party faithful in tow.
Never buying another MS console again so no.
