I'm assuming that's the resolution of your monitor? Does borderless full screen work? Have you disabled stretching?
So uh... I just bought the game. First thing that happens is Uplay goes down, so I wait, install the game and download the patch. Now I can FINALLY play, but it has already crashed TWICE just playing the prologue. One time before it even loaded and just now exactly once I finished it.
Bad performance/unoptimization is one thing, but the game should at the very least RUN. I have a GTX 970 and everything for gods sake.
Jesus Christ Ubisoft.
E: Now it won't even start anymore...
E: Well, after a PC reboot it at least gets me to the menu. Lets see how long I can play again before running into any problems.
Now all my UPlay points are gone.
Just what the fuck Ubisoft????
Um...how do I start a new game? I only have the continue option available?

You will have to disable cloud sync in uplay then delete your save file.
Try to verify files. It worked for me when game was crashing.

*sigh* where's the save file located?
This just dawned on me, but is this the first Assassin's Creed game to have not been delayed on the PC?

Can anyone help me, because Unity keeps crashing every 1-3 mins, and I do have a sufficient PSU.
The game plays beautifully for a while, hovering close to 60FPS at all times, but then it suddenly starts to stutter about every 2-3 seconds. It almost seems like the game engine loop resets itself to keep up. This can be seen by clothes and hair on NPCs "jumping" a bit, like the physics engine has just been started. The only solution seems to be to restart the game. This can also start to happen when doing fast travel, or starting a coop mission. It seems related to when the engine loads in a lot of assets. Here are my specs:
ASUS X99-S
Intel 5820K 6-core
Nvidia GTX 690 2GB VRAM (running in SLI mode) Driver 344.65
Samsung 840 EVO 1TB
Windows 7 (fully updated)
Game settings (the issue occurs regardless, but I'll include them anyway):
Environment quality: Ultra High
Texture quality: High
Shadow quality: PCSS
Ambient Occlusion: HBAO+
Bloom: On
Any other SLI users seeing anything similar?

I wonder this as well. All the online shit going on has to be costly. Anyone have any thoughts on this .Is it true that by playing Unity offline the game performs much better?

Disable Uplay overlay, make sure you got the latest patch. Don't run anything in the background aside from what is necessary.GPU is GTX 780 and CPU, i7 2600K, motherboard is maximus iv extreme
Just played a few more missions and I literally shed a tear when I got to the. My frames doubled and the game played smooth as butter with the NPCs gone...rift mission after the server sweep
Why can't they give us a slider to lower the amounts of NPCs? I mean I get a heavy headache from looking at them anyways (clothing & hair popping in 24/7).
Is there any chance that they will patch this?(This year)
game runs great, i72600 gtx970
Not currently at my desk, but iirc, High Texture quality recommends 3GB of VRAM. It could be that which eventually causes the stuttering. Have you tried with the low textures?
Jeez, I'd hope so.

I don't know why do we keep expecting anything from ubisoft on pc. I haven't seen a single good port from them on pc(aside from rayman origins and all games with that engine). from what i have seen, all games from the ps3 era(i did not play on pc before) are utterly awful. can anyone tell me otherwise?
Got my first crash.
I'm after patch, but honestly it was after, like, 2 hours of gameplay, so i can't say if its was the patch or not.
I was in the customization screen, and the game froze, had to CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it.
