I don't know but it is fucking shit. You need 100000 hit markers on that thing, and good luck even hitting anyone without the laser sight and even then it is a chore.

Shame because if it was somewhat usable it'd be a laugh.

Right? They really need to do something to make some of these guns viable. XMG has shit movement, shit accuracy, shit range, shit speed...wait why am I using this gun again except to tank my k/d? Lockdown mode is hilarious...effectively turns you into a "turret" aka sitting duck because you still have no stopping power.

watch the killcam he doesnt even touch the roof in the snipers view

if you want to see it at its worst try playing with a shield, you will rage at the amount of killcams where it appears the enemy casually shoots/melees you to death despite you looking dead at them to block
Watch the killcam again. Blood appears suddenly on the opponents screen, but of course the inconsistent tac19 gets yet another hit marker.
 
I see what people are bitching about but I feel like most of my deaths are because I rush out somewhere or just because its super hard to live for very long in cod.

I don't play much team deahmatch though because the maps have so many openings to watch for and you really don't stand much of a chance against the people partying up and talking.

I absolutely love hard point because it feels like teamwork comes easier and its fun to defend or crack the defense of the hard point. It focuses all the attention on one area and therefore the spawns and taking cover matters more.

I also like ctf and search and rescue. Try some other modes than tdm and see if it improves your experience.

I actually like the game quite a bit and it gives that thrill from getting on a good streak and feeling like you outmaneuvered the enemy or cought them by surprise.

Also going prone is OP. Not sure why but people always ignore people laying on the ground.
 
Christ, playing COD this much reminds me of how much I despise prone in first person shooters. It doesn't really annoy me in Battlefield because it isn't abused like in COD. There being no penalty for shooting while going prone ruins it.

I am enjoying the game and the Exo-suits. I had a rough idea how the game would play, so I got mostly what I was expecting. I am concerned about the games staying power. When so few weapons are viable, things get stale pretty fast.

Yeah it's really powerful. It ends up making you look real closely at what you assume are other players dead on the ground. If they aren't moving its really hard to tell before you get shot.

They should patch in something like part of the exo suit sticking up a few inches on live players in prone but not on dead player models.

I have no problem with the magazine size, the range, or the reload speed I just wish I could kill someone in two shots instead of 4.

The update has fixed nothing. I wish I was smart enough to buy the disc and not the digital copy. Cant even trade this pile of crap in. I should have learnt by now that COD hasnt been good since BO1. Terrible maps and terrible lag comp/hit detection/whatever it is. 3 years in development? Dont think so.
 
I'm not sure how longer I can stand playing Call of Duty. I eventually stop playing each title because I can't stand how random the game can be. This title, with its terrible spawns and zero lanes of control, makes it worse. Thankfully the last Battlefield 4 DLC pack comes out in two weeks. Once Dragon Age comes out I think I will put away AW for a few months.


When it works, and my team is dominating I do have a lot of fun with this game. But the bad spawns and lack of a Mercenary mode wears away at me. I don't like picking a mode only to end up against a clan. Oh, and skill based matchmaking. Boo fucking boo.

I respect opinions and all but the maps are good. How are they bad though? They're designed around the exo suit which is such a changer for a COD. I'm going to hate the next COD game. :/

It'd be nice if some of the maps only had 1 or 2 raised platforms. It'd create areas with concentrated action. Maybe have areas that can't be looked/shot down upon.

The Jungle map sort of has the right idea, but it's very poorly laid out IMO.

The exo suit can still be utilized withought having 50+ different platforms to jump onto.

I wish you could map boost to the left left bumper. Not sure where exo abilities would go though. I just don't like clicking in the stick at different angles, it feels unnatural and the stick will wear down fast after extended use.
 
Man I really wish the Recon perk from MW3 was a regular perk in these games. I used to love being able to mark people on the map temporarily with explosives and bullets(when you get pro version).

If you had a group that was all using recon, you'd never really need a UAV

Another thing I don't get is headshots. Why do I keep getting multiple headshot hitmarkers without getting kills? A normal assault rifle should only need two shots to the head to kill, it seems to take around 3-4 in this game.

Just found out that ARs only have a 1.1x multiplier for headshots. Thats fucking ridiculous.

Regular multiplayer servers are working much better for me than they were previously. Can't get into a game of exo survival for the life of me though.

Sounds about right. Even my HBR needs a third hit after landing two headshots. I kinda figure there's little point in aiming high given how weak headshots are and how strong dolphin diving/drop-shotting can be. I'm trying to remember to just aim at people's junk when they're out in the open. That way if they dolphin dive they're still lined up and I probably get a free headshot or two, for what little it's worth. :p

I've been using that sweeper SMG a lot and it had a damage of 12, higher than a lot of other guns. Yet for the life of me I am having a hell of a time dropping guys even after hitting them like 5-6 times.

I think most of the guns have an extremely low headshot multiplier. Headshots just don't seem to matter much.

It's as if they just had a list of things to add, and didn't bother to actually make it resonate with the rest of the game.

For example, they make a headshot hitmarker, but they make headshots meaningless. They make all this cool gear and make it expire. They make a weapon like the MK14 and make it the weakest and most clumsy weapon in the game.

The most likely reason is obvious. Making headshots do significantly more damage opens up more things for good players to differentiate themselves with. We wouldn't want that, would we?

Seems to be a good variant for every gun from supply drops but you have to get lucky enough to get it.
 
I just prestiged for the first time (PS4) and upon the next match (joined in progress) I jumped like 7 ranks for just getting a few kills. It would appear as though all of my challenges are borked, and I received a ton of experience points for them.

The ARX-160 Hole Puncher most opd shit i've used in CoD since CoD4 m16 which is exactly what it is.

I think people forget how overpowered the M16 was, relative to the other guns in that game.

The M16 was a two-shot kill, three burst shot weapon, with a rate of fire higher than any other assault rifle (>900), leading to a theoretical time to kill of 0.065 seconds. It was one of the most accurate assault rifles, certainly far more so than the AK47, which was the only other two-shot kill assault rifle. The most outrageous thing about the gun though was that it did not idle (the reticle was stable when aiming down sights), whereas every automatic SMG and AR did.

Regardless of all this, having a normal variant of the gun that doesn't kill in one burst and another variant that does is ludicrous.
 
ok, im letting my bro play cod on my US account just to find out all the dlc (exo suits and shit) were in the US account which i purchased the game. since when did they lock up dlc? i hope the season pass isnt locked up. at the very least i got the atlas gorge map

I'm sure it's been done but I'd just like to take a second to whine about forced skill-based matchmaking in regular, non-ranked mode. It's all well and good when I feel like putting my tryhard pants on, but if I just want to chill and dork around with sub-standard, less competitive loadouts, not only is it annoying for me, but it makes me a shitty teammate. Blah :(

It has nothing to do with kd/r, it has to do with the basic building foundations of the CoD series being nerfed, gimped and left crippled to die a slow death. The foundation has always been allowing players to craft their own playstyle, but this time around SH has decided you'll be playing how they want you to play.

As many have pointed out, the lag is the worst in the series, the maps have no personality or hotspots and have an overly designed emphasis on verticality, the weapons are widely imbalanced, the killstreaks are severely underpowered and boring, and the list goes on and on. Furthermore, there's absolutely no map control or safety anywhere - the exo movement on top of bad spawns ensures that for at least half of the game you will get shot in the back.

I got all of the SP trophies sans exo-survival in about 4-5 hours. I consider myself a higher than average CoD fan and while there are some CoD games I didn't like (BOII), I have never come to hate one or stop playing it in less than a week. AW is the first game in the series that has turned me off, and in less than a week from release which is unfathomable. I can't stomach supporting SHG and the irreversible damage they have done to the series.



I've since returned the Xbox One bundle and if it were possible I'd return the PS4 copy, but it's been opened. The best thing I can do is trade it in so someone can by it used and SHG doesn't get a penny from the sale, and I hope it recirculates at astounding rates.

Tl;dr - as a big CoD fan this game is utterly and complete, rich, creamy shit. Stay far away.


It's funny seeing all the different reactions to AW because you've more or less stated how I feel about MW2 and what it did to the franchise I loved since the beginning. I feel like MW2 and 3 fucked the series muuuuuuuuuch worse than any other game in the series did but of course that's just my opinion.

If anything I appreciate how completely different AW is to the others. It's focus back on gunplay with extremely fast movement, it's more or less turned into an arena shooter with military trappings now. I love how crap killstreaks are, fuck em. Hated killstreaks since MW2. I certainly don't disagree with a lot of the weapons being useless at the minute (especially the SMGs, fuck me they're terrible) but I love the fact it's so run and gun focused and really enjoying all the maps.

It's certainly the most I've enjoyed COD multiplayer since COW4 and Black Ops 1 anyway.
 
Tried it out for the first time, and the first impression is that the MP feels fast paced, maybe a bit too fast paced. BO2 was similar at first too, but I got used to it a few months in (3+ kd).

I guess I just need to get used to COD being 3 dimensional now (people on rooftops, etc).
 
God fucking dammit, my campaign save got deleted somehow? What is this Battlefield 4? Also, not playing on my "Primary" PS4 so nothing in the cloud for me? Seriously? What the hell is the point of cloud saves if the shit doesn't stay synced across my PS4s?

Just got good old MW2 for PC, just for shits and giggles. It occurred to me that, even with a crappy p2p connection with 200+ ping, this game is more consistent than AW.

I think that belongs to the XM14 or whatever that fucking dual minigun is.

Or maybe the S-12 marshmallow launcher.

You can get a kill in just 1.2 magazines.

Believe it or not, ps4 version is a lot less laggy than the x1 version

I want to throw my controller through a window when playing on x1, it hurts my eyes to see the game run like it's chugging along at 30 for or something (at times not all the time, but it pissess me off)
