Ok it's a lot better now.
Apparently hair quality is tied to mesh or something rather than texture.

6 cores for Denuvo, 2 for the game.

That report is all coming from the same person. If that is how it works, it should be happening to everybody and be widely known, especially after Lords of the Fallen debuted it.

I Don't Know WTF Is Going On With THIS HAIR

This ain't there's something about mary

A severe case of frostbite.

Edit: Even with the new hair.

It's interesting to compare the big english-language game site reviews of DA:I with those of the more PC-focused German publications I read. The former generally are full of praise, while the overall impression when reading the latter is far more tepid (one rating is a 59/100). Most of them criticize a negative Skyrim influence with a flood of forgettable quests, lack of strategic relevance in combat and simplistic character building. And a "surprisingly" mediocre story (I'm not surprised).

Honestly, the review scales are so messed up it's hard to judge anything by the scores anymore. I don't know why review sites bother, aside from their desire to get traffic. They have point-scales and neglect the bottom half of it because that's only for games that shouldn't be sold in the first place, while nearly everything else is in the 7-9 sweet spot.

Bioware's in a real special place solely because they're the AAA-budget RPG developer, aside from maybe CDProject RED. (I guess Bethesda counts too..) While Bioware plays it safe, their lavishly-developed games are a real treat, especially in a modern reviewer's eyes.

I guess what I'm saying is I don't read many reviews... or maybe, the wrong ones.

Harumph.

also don't give characters facial scars and then makeup and shiny loreal hair

it looks kinda silly

kind of like when the manly knight lady from game of thrones put on a dress

I wish my sister was here, I usually just have her make all my characters.

CoH: Ardennes Assault is out now.

It got a good review from PCGamer too. I have to agree with their statement that it's about £10 too much though, especially for my current budget. At £20 I'd have snapped this one right up, but as it is I'll be waiting for the winter sale.

Is that meant to be a new type of Darkspawn or something?

well you gotta give love to receive love

i usually spend like an hour just playing with the settings

can't depend on your sister forever so don't just take 5 minutes!

or just use one of the defaults and give her some cool hair and cat eyes or something

It's really funny how people get so much focused on 60fps. Ridiculous sometimes. I prefer it too but some people act like nothing beyond 60 is acceptable.
Saw Gamersyde footage and the game looks great the way it is. And the explanations the devs made, are clear and totally understandable. It's not like they made the game so that only at 60fps you can play it successfully. They built it around 30fps, the animations, the controls. I am sure it'll turn out great. The video of the built I saw looked very polished.

This War of Mine got region locked.
Is this because of the auto-tag or did the devs just decide to lock it?
Shame anyway. Game looked cool.

Wonder whether and how much this auto-tag will influence sales-figures, especially for indies. I get the feeling that at least during the first months people who usually bought from cheaper regions, will be more hesitant with purchasing.
It was nice while it lasted. Wonder if there was a statement from Valve about cutting off cross-region gifting?

Will ya look at that. It's my birthday.

Happy birthday you curious birdy! Always enjoy your weirdness ;)

I don't like the default and there's only like 2 girly hair styles it's so saddening.
I spent 1 hour on that one abomination I posted the first time :X

haha yes yes. hopefully they don't. makes it even more shitty that its valve thats in charge of the region locking so if a dev/pub wants to be ace about it and make it region free they can't even do that.

well ... they can ... but they have to go through Volvo support ... and we all know how awesome (and fast) Volvo support is :/

Interesting Early Access data graphed for percentages of games released by age here.
Also, wow, Early Access has been going on for almost 2 years now?
Time flies.

yea which is why i said they can't even do that. with valve we'd be waiting a year. Now that I think of it I filed a ticket way way back and it never got resolved, not even an automated msg. I wonder if its still open... do tickets automatically close after a certain amount of time?

The first "early access" game was Don't Starve, but it wasn't called as such. Here's the initial release of early access games:

1... 2... 3... KICK IT! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby)
Arma III
Drunken Robot Pornography
Gear Up
Gnomoria
Kenshi
Kerbal Space Program
Kinetic Void
Patterns (Development shut down, never finished)
Prison Architect
StarForge
Under the Ocean

Only Arma III, Drunken Robot Pornography, and StarForge have released. But the rest still see pretty active development it seems except for Patterns. Not exactly the best results though for 20 months.

Omg, how long have we been in Community? ;;;

I picked up Injustice about a month ago when it was on sale before, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet! :( Does running SweetFX cause any preformance issues? Because that game is super ugly.

jshackles

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Those Early Access percentages are kinda sad, though.
If you haven't noticed, the scale doesn't go up to 100%, it goes up to 60% and the actual graph barely crests 50%

I'm not very surprised, personally. There is almost zero incentive for these developers to finish their product. I imagine these numbers would be a hell of a lot higher if the system was set up in such a way that if, after a certain amount of time like 6 months to a year, your game was still unfinished then all of the purchasers would be immediately refunded.

But of course, that would require actual quality control standards at Valve to evaluate whether or not a game was fit to be deemed "finished".

True. It's still sad ;)
I mean hell, if I got my stuff in a state that was Early Access worthy (and not like the bullshit that gets hyped here by some people =p), I'd do my best to actually finish it.
Your Steam game is your calling card, after all.

Pretty smooth. This is the first EA game I've been interested in for bloody ages... But... It's EA... And Origin... And the ever-shiny Frostyshite engine ,_,
It sure does look purdy when it's not shiny though. If I do end up getting the game somehow (likely try out a friends copy first to make sure it's fun) then I think I'm going to make like... An elven, female mage. I think that's the best way to maximise peoples' hatred of me ingame, no?
I really like white hair since I'm a big fan of Geralt from The Witcher.
That is one awful hairline. But yay, White Wolf!

I think it was since the beginning of the month.

Bravo, very good.

But the eyebrows must match the hair colour. (Plastic hair wouldn't hurt, either.)
I thought about giving him white eyebrows but it look kinda weird. Giving him darker eyebrows felt better to me. The funny thing though is that the game give you options to do both. It's like they just know people prefer one of another.

could do without the white hair doe
But that would defeat my original purpose :3

The hairline is okay to me but what is bugging me the most are the sideburns. It's just kinda hanging off the side in the air. It's bugging the crap out of me. I hope there is a way to fix it with modding.

Endless Space was the first - 4 Jul, 2012, Don't Starve was almost a year later.

They sold an Alpha or Beta on Steam some month before the game was finished. As far as I know was this the first "early access" like game on Steam.

the way i see it valve should demand devs to set a release date and give them like 25% extra time if they go over it. delays are part of game development and a developer shouldn't go completely ruined if they go over a month or two. probably with a maximum time, say like 2 years or something, so nobody exploits this with like 10 years or something.

if it goes past the date then it's just out of steam. a fate as bad as giving back all the money you earned, really. giving all the money back sounds like a crazy logistics proposition, which is why i guess kickstarter hasn't done it either, but i don't know much about that. debatable, at least

but yeah, something like that

Yeah Rhaknar said he would make me someone when he gets back from work, so i'll just play more VC then. Thankfully just beat chapter 7.
i still haven't started it

i kinda want divinity to be over already

But that would defeat my original purpose :3

Nah man. My sister has a Art Major so she's really good with that stuff.
As for when I brought up the blush and eyeliner stuff I was just joking really.
Since I have never been able to make female characters especially with those finer details.
