Borderlands the Pre-Sequel! |OT| GENDER EQUALITY!

really hoping there is a torgue bar fight type dlc to raise bad-ass levels. was really annoyed that the kill with assault rifle while crouching is a bad ass challenge. granted, all of the badass challenges seem copy pasted over from 2 disapointingly enough.

Just bought a lv 49 bloodthirster mod for my Athena with 55.5% health regen :)

edit: Just killed Iwajira solo with lv 50 Athena.

just got two legendaries within 5 minutes, unfortunately a gladiator mod (I'm wilhelm) from vendor level 38 and a lobbed bonus package level 42 from a drop, both in the R&D lab. have been using a homing bonus so was going to switch to a different type of grenade in a few levels, now I feel compelled not to. And now I suppose I will have to level up a gladiator next, I was going to claptrap it as my 2nd.

Wow, Deadlift is a game stopper in THM,solo anyway...I am level 32.

He's all shield, no meat. Take the first jump pad to the 2nd level and hide on the stairs. They can't be electrified. Let him come to you. Knock his shield off, and he goes down real quick.
I had some problems with him too until I used the stair method.

Agreed +2. This is what I basically tried after failing like 10 times and it gave me the best chance to survive ever time. I was at level 50 farming him during that halloween event.

When you first enter, take the jump pad on the right. it will send you to a platform straight ahead with a set of stairs on the left. Make sure you have a shock weapon or tesla grenades. You have to take out his shield quickly.

So I finally finished this bastard. (ALL missions, at level 30)

And while I enjoyed it immensely, I have zero desire to do a 2nd playthrough like I did with the other two Borderlands games.

I'm supposed to buy it on release date but my friends couldn't afford to buy the games so we decided to put it on hold.

Anyway, my point is that I'm curious what is your opinions about Borderlands 1.5. Do anyone have problem with it?

Sup Heath,

I think it's a very enjoyable game. Lemme get this out the way lol, It's no Borderlands 2 ( i'd order them Bl2>>BL:TPS>BL1). But it's still a solid game that you should play at some point. The new gameplay mechanics including the low gravity, the ice element, the laser types, and slam ability really do a nice job of changing things up and it's plain fun. Since you're going to play with friends I'm pretty sure you'll have fun. I only tried Athena so far and I'm having a blast with her. Her shield helps a lot and her trees are very diverse so I had a lot to work with.

My only gripe so far is that I wish there was a little more to do after completing the game the 2nd time. It's still really early in this game's life cycle so 2k/Gearbox will likely fix this in time with patches and DLC. And for whatever reason, there are certain bosses and unique weapons that you have ONE chance of getting per playthrough because they do not respawn. I think 2k/Gb are aware of this and are working on it if the forum posts on their forums are anything to go by.

Overall, I have had fun playing the game so far by just enjoying it for what it is.Jack's story is very interesting and it was worth telling. The gameplay changes also has kept it fresh imo.

From a new press release:

“With Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, we’re continuing the Borderlands franchise’s tradition of delivering high quality add-on content and supporting the game well after it launches,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “The Handsome Jack Doppelganger Pack adds hours of gravity-defying mayhem and is just the first of four upcoming add-on content packs.”

The Handsome Jack Doppelganger Pack is the first of four add-on content packs for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and is included in the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass* – a $39.96 value for only $29.99. Each add-on content pack will also be available individually for $9.99. The Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass grants access to download all four of the planned add-on content packs as they become commercially available on the PlayStation®Network, Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft, Windows PC, Mac and Linux.

Yeah, I'm glad I didn't!

I really wanted some good DLC but 2K Australia confirmed the Season Pass is different from Borderlands and Borderlands 2, The Pre-Sequel season pass only offers 2 character downloads, a level cap upgrade, and just one campaign add-on. This is pretty weak in my opinion since it means any more campaign add-ons will be separate purchases. And I'm only interested in campaign add-ons.

Had so much fun playing this yesterday on my day off! And who says it's not funny? I almost bust a gut when...

...the basketball dunk champ went flying off in to outer space!

Really enjoying this game. Totally worth my $50.

Lol yea that mission is definitely one of highlights of this game.

I'm still on the fence about the pass. Ill be there for the campaign and level cap so I guess an exttra 10 for two interesting character might be good. Not having enough time would be the only downside.

Ultimate Vault Hunter mode will come free as an update soon!

So far, I've felt this game good, but not as good as the other two. Still lovin' it, just wish I had more time to spend on it.

Confirmed being free? Nice if so, I was expecting it to take one slot of the Season Pass :)

Playing very little recently, mostly farming the dreadful Vendingmachines the Invincible. Too many stuff launched since TPS lol.

Hmm. Looks like there is no need to farm for legendaries then if the lvl cap goes up. Hope we get a DLC campaign soon too.

So I'm getting this thing happening on my melee/elemental specced lvl 42 Athena where when I hit enemies with a laser weapon (any element), it shocks surrounding enemies. The effect has a fairly large range (hitting targets across the room at times). It's pretty useful (especially for killing shields) but I have no idea what's causing it to happen. Tried with a fire assault rifle and corrosive pistol and neither triggered it.

That happen to anyone else or is it one of those rare beneficial bugs?

I still have not tried the elemental tree but I think there is a skill in the tree that causes shock damage if you're air born or something. Maybe Smite?? I'm going to try out that tree tonight :)

I gave Wilhem a try a few days ago and when spec'd into his Saint tree he is pretty tough to bring down. So much that I was wasn't having as much fun as Athena. Lol it was probably because I was in a group but ill give him another shot.

And I hope we get that uvhm very soon! I'm still hoping this game reaches its potential very soon because with the upcoming holiday season I'm sure a few people will be looking to upgrade to the current gen.

That sounds like overload towards the bottom of the ceruanic storm tree sort of.

Just finished the game and that last boss was really fun. I'm now trying to farm better weapons to try out TVHM, but I can't really find any good spots. Thinking back, I can't think of any bosses (other than the last one) that dish out any significant loot. Some of them can't even be repeated, and areas like the Eye of Helios (which I tried to go to for the Moonstone chest) aren't accessible anymore (I think).

It's weird, the more I think about it. The last game had Bunker, the last boss, the area with the Sheriff, and lots of others that were easy to get to and grind for loot. This one is the complete opposite. Everything is a journey to get to and even with the last boss I have to watch an unnecessary cutscene before every fight. Grinding is what this series is all about, it's strange that they would make so many design decisions against it. What would you guys recommend for post game grinding? I fought Meg tons of times and only really got skins. I can keep fighting the last boss until I can eventually get something cool. I don't know.

Well, RK5 is farmable, and we have Iwajira too (secret "boss" on the first area you walk on Elpis).

You need to farm Iwajira. He's a piñata and you can grind out a few levels easily before you start TVHM.

I still can't find the location of Athena's G. Agent and Tech Ninja heads. Where the frack did they hide those things?? lol If anyone has any idea, let me know please.

It also seems we might be getting a Holodome DLC pack sooon. The achievments are already up.

Complete all 5 rounds of The Holodome.
Complete the Badass Round of The Holodome.
Complete the Badass Round without going into Fight For Your Life.

Hopefully it's fun AND repeatable. And that UVHM would be nice right about now.

Tech ninja is Zarpedon apparently, gynoid agent I've heard nothing.

That sucks, of course it's from someone who doesn't respawn. I was able to get a legendary skin from her before, Ninja Blush iirc, so I guess she could have the tech ninja head also...

And yea same I have noo idea where gynoid could be.

There's a glitch where if you complete any mission on TVHM after you beat the game on that mode, you unlock the unfinished UVHM. From what I've heard the enemies are not any stronger as of now. I'm going to try it later.

Probably not the most positive bump but id like to say that while the core mechanics are as fun as ever, this game is fucking tedious compared to BL2, with annoying jump physics, drawn out missions and annoying characters with their fucking stereotypical aussie accents.

Is the game really buggy? I was trying claptrap out last night again with a buddy and could NOT get the laughter talent to work for either of us after we left the Merrif's Office. It worked fine in there, and then didn't proc a single time after for the next two hours.

Also, claptrap ult is kinda fun, but it would be better without the melee thing popping up 2/3rds of the time.

Yea it's pretty damn buggy but they're working on it. The smaller issues are being fixed through hotfixes and the bigger ones will be done through a true patch, iirc.

Im warming to this game.

It's a really good game, I just wish there was more to do and experience. I'm. Trying to be patient. Lol

i rented it and have been playing and i like it. the gravity and ground pound stuff is a fun addition. i'm using athena cause she seemed the most like zer0. sadly there is a problem with one of her skills that stops working if you ever been in a vehicle. the only fix seems to be quitting and starting which is super annoying otherwise she's been great. when do you get the first extra weapon slot feels like i've been playing forever?

Is it just me or are there more exploding barrels then the other games? It's like I can't slam without nearly killing myself.

this game apparently had about 1/10th the longevity for me that 2 had. perhaps i am actually getting tired of the grind formula of these games. one playthrough seems to have been enough for me. though my free time is far less than when 2 came out.

I've put 370+ hours in BL2 but stopped playing TPS with less than 10 play hours registered on Steam. I think the problem with TPS is that its pacing just feels wrong and thus fails to suck me in to accept the grind. I can't even complete the first playthrough.

Pacing is a issue the story has it gets to the roughly the bit with the Drakensberg till the end of the robot army with rampant Felicity where it's a complete slog. At least helios station and the last section does get a bit more interesting than that middle bit.
