I paid $13 and some change for Subnautica, but it's the regular edition and there's no pricing for it yet, however the SE is $35 and currently exclusive to the official site, although the game is hitting Early Access tomorrow (I'm in the process of making a thread).

Edit: And now I have to start again because Windows decided to soil itself.

my problem with auctions in general is that it either gets me real nervous if i put my bid and "forget" about it and it makes me feel guilty if i just one-up the bid like 10 minutes before it's done

but yeah something like choice of the deathless for like 1500 or croixleur sigma for 3000 might not be so bad?

king's bounty for 6700 is a $25 game.

is the 100 gem = .4c thing still true?

ughhhh why do you do this to me gabe

DuckTales Remastered
Castle of Illusion
Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut
Strider

Mostly platformers.

I don't even recognize you as a regular... you haven't shown immediate signs of idiocy... and yet the grinch in me is saying this post is worth pressing the ignore button. :3

No.
Just divide your current market price for a sack by 10.
Here in the US, sacks are going for about 1.25... so it's like 0.12 per 100 or so.
At that rate, I got Marvelous Miss Take for about $7.

Sniping the bid at the last minute is part of online auctions, you shouldn't feel guilty about it at all.

As for the gem prices, they have gone way up, 1k gems is now about $1.27.

Isn't Shantae supposed to be kinda decent? The rest of those are complete garbage from what I've heard.

Finally done exams! I'm ready for some sales this week. >:D

I miss exams. Hopefully, next semester I can actually afford classes ( I had to drop them earlier in the semester).

For anyone looking for a low entry auction, there is a unique Early Access Adventure game by the name of Night Shift with the highest bid currently at 725.

80s neon aesthetic with electronic music playing as you drive around a world covered in darkness, attempting to find clues as to why the world is covered in shade. It is Early Access and there is still a lot of work to be done on it, but it's a good and unique experience for not very much gem wise.

Prices are that low already? I should check the auction thing again I think. Haven't bothered with it apart from placing a 1-gem-bid for the badge lol. Might go for the third level, have 680 or so gems from inventory dupes n stuff

:( IIRC, student loans in the US only offer a certain amount of money rather than cover the full cost of the course and also accrue interest, right? That's rough.

Post grad taking prereq classes for med school, so that isn't covered and I am making student loan payments. Oy vey!

Cool, I won Dark Souls.

Should I activate it now or wait till the complete switch to steamworks? I really don't want to deal with GFWL.

Come february the game in my account should automatically convert over to the steam version right, and not a separate entry like the Company of Heroes steam version is?

Yes, the GFWL conversion is being handled by way of a patch, so the game you activate today will just be updated in February, once the patch is finalised.

It is sad to hear that. I was fortunate enough to finish my school and college in country where education is free. But US education system is really broken in my opinion. After finishing college you need to work for years to pay it and that is sad. Best years of your life you are spending working as hard as you can to pay your education, after that you are paying for your home.

Damn feels like I should have those auction badges but I fear I'm kind of late in the game now.T_T Knowing gem sacks were under 0.50 haha

Also wonder if gems will take over as the currency of steam trading?

Sounds like it'd be worth it for the soundtrack alone. I'm a sucker for 80s synthpop.

I gotta hand it to Valve, somehow they have yet again manage to make me buy a bunch of games I don't really need or want.

Damage so far:

Retro Game Crunch (Round 4, 4400g)
Leona's Tricky Adventure (Round 5, 2100g)
Light (Round 6, 2400g)
Shadow Blade: Reload (Round 8, 2100g)
Monsters ate my birthday cake (Round 9, 3000g)
Super Comboman (Round 14, 1800g)
Choplifter HD (Round 17, 1300g)
Proxy Blade Zero (Round 18, 1800g)
Mega Coin Squad (Round 22, 2100g)
A City Sleeps (Round 23, 3200g)
Haunted (Round 23, 1000g)
Kings of Kung Fu (Round 24, 2200g)

Quite possibly, but then it's only a matter of time before Valve either imposes the seven-day cooldown on them also or applies it to all marketable items.

A couple of years doing nothing and then going from temp job to temp job and dealing with certain uh, illnesses, tends to miss simpler days. That and as I got older, I learned to appreciate certain subjects I didn't have an attention span, and meds.

enough about me, though.

(I welcome the pity party)

In the history of economics and money, this has been the case. Take an unwanted currency make another and make incentives for it or, make its a tradable only (aka taxable i real life) currency. It could be an experiment for them to get off TF2 Keys.

I haven't played any game for 3 days now? I like how valve manages to stop us from playing games but keep us buying them. You gotta give that much credit to them, they are good at this (><)
Also wth, why bids are rising again? I thought gems are still on the rise too?
Why games won't be for cheap on auction. Because there are what? 10 mlns active steam users? And there are only 200K badges for taking, I mean "won auction badge", brilliant strategy, no?

edited: also I wonder did I missed any bundle in madness of last days. Anything new good showed up?

Did level 5 badge of CS:GO, I only wasted 1 cent.

how?

The only rationale I can see behind declaring TF2 keys "bad" and gems "good" is that Valve wants to disrupt the key market to the point where prices are more or less equal to Mann Co's $2.49, however the difference between the two is generally only a handful of cents, so there's not much of a gap to close.

Strider? Naah, it's just, nothing. It's a really inoffensive metroid-clone. I played that game (on hard) recently and didn't really feel like it was anything remarkable. On hard, roughly 20% of the bosses posed a challenge and the regular combat became a bit annoying, quite frankly. It's the kind of game where you're expected to take a hail of bullets in the face and live, so the balance wasn't very remarkable in various situations

guys, could you stop ignoring my questions, like getting an answer to at least one out of ten would be nice! (><)

On the same train of thought, I was wondering, anybody cares for lists of what's greenlit? maybe I shouldn't post those.

What? Gems went actually over 1 Euro? The fuck

That was expected seeing that there are much more buying orders than selling by factor 10 even.

I have less time to pay attention to them normally these days, so I would have missed several of them and thus I appreciate you doing so.

I only care for Greenlight Projects that immediately catch my eye or that I know. But it's nice to have someone provide those lists.

Well, if they do want to curb currency exchange rate 'exploitation', for something more in their favor and governing/taxing bodies as well, then the concept of PPP makes sense.
