I gave up on Rare a long time ago. Why they decided to concentrate on kinect i'll never know.

With Kinect slowly dying and this bit of info I'm at least interested in this new project. Old Rare will never come back, but to potentially get something more exciting than Kinect Sports 3: Revengeance from this team is good news nonetheless.

Here's hoping they make up for that Conker tease at E3 2014.

Hmmmm... either Perfect Dark or new IP. Cannot see anything else getting green lighted at this juncture. Regardless, good to see Rare doing something non kinect or avatar related^^

Something that's action-oriented and not a creatively kiddy game like that new Media Molecule PS4 game that uses Playstation Move and not Kinect Sports.

Just anything that feels like a game the Rare I knew would make. I know all or most of the talent has left, but one can still get excited for potentially a new IP for XB1, which it desperately needs.

More like pushing the limits of an Xbox One using Unreal Engine 4...

Thanks for clarifying, for a minute I thought Rare was gonna push the limits of the PS4.

Rare threads continue being honeypots for my ignore list, dear lord...

I'm really eager to see what both Rare and possible other studios working on their IP have on their plates, and I really hope that we won't have to wait until E3 for any revelations.

Same here, I really don't like that MS relies so much at E3 for announcements.

BTW a new Banjo running at UE4 could look amazing, N&B is easily one of the best looking games of last gen.

2. Nintendo wanted nothing to do with the game because of it's crass nature. They didn't even advertise

This standee in my hallway begs to differ.

As much as I'd love a new, quirky platformer from Rare, they just don't sell. Phil Spencer would need to be madly wanting audience approval to let them make one. I'm curious what they do though. I'm thinking a light-RPG
You really don't think a new Conker or Banjo game would sell better than a new Kinect Sports game?

Why a remake? Trouble in Paradise was already a remake, practicallly. I want a real sequel that takes full advantage of the platform, including the cloud.

A cloud based garden could be really good as it could mean multiple people could work on it even when the original creator of it is away.

That is one game that could do really well with all of MS' tech and a lot of it wouldn't feel tact on.

Your garden could be stored in the cloud and you could use Smart Glass or a mobile app to help maintain it. They could even add Kinect controls (as well as support a standard controller) if they still wanted to use that.

But a new Viva Pinata would be good for me.

Pushing the engine to it's limits on console.
480p variable 30fps then.

I'd love to see the return of old Rare. Even Viva Piñata had that feeling to an extent so here's hoping they go back to their old platform adventure game roots.

As much as I am fond of the Perfect Dark franchise, that's the last thing I'd want from Rare on the Xbox One.

"Oh gee, another shooter. Another Unreal shooter."

A recent job posting from rare indicates that at least one of their upcoming games has four legged creatures in it.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but Microsoft will need some child friendly games for their system and rare are the ideal ones to make them.
