Are FedEx trucks heated in the back? I had a 3DS delivered just now, and it's minus thirteen outside with windchill. I guess it was picked up at the depot this morning?

The box was kind of cold, but it's not going to be used for a while. Will it be okay?

Yup, it will be fine. If you're really concerned, just let it warm up to room temperature before firing it up.

are people generally happy with teksavvy?

It can be a nightmare getting hooked up (rogers/bell techs not showing up, also i've been double or triple charged for the first bill every time i've changed service with them) but once you're up and running it's no worse than any other service. I'm happy with my 60/10 cable connection. I get the advertised speeds 24/7.

55/10 here with teksavvy and besides the first couple weeks dropping to 3mb download it's been fine.

I do need to point out atleast once a month randomly it will also drop 2 3mb for about 10 minutes.

Unlimited Usage between 2am and 8am

For our cable customers we are offering unlimited usage between 2am and 8am. This allows our customers to download large items free of charge during this time period. Items downloaded during this time do not count toward your Bandwidth limit.

Unlimited 2am-8am is everyone. Zap the cap is only for people on 400gb caps and up. Also throttled speed depends on your regular speed. Just look at the chart.

Mind blown, thank you for the information guys, Teksavvy is awesome.

Just dont call their customer support, they are very nice.... once you get to speak with someone, waiting for 45 minutes is normal, then again, in 5 years I think I have called maybe twice.

Pretty crazy that Target is giving up so quickly. The ones closest to me was always pretty awful though.

Sucks for all the people losing their jobs.

I have a preorder of the MM n3DSXL from EB Games that I've decided I don't want anymore. However, before I do so, I wanted to see if anyone in the thread was interested in purchasing it from me at cost. I'm in Ontario, so the cost was $259.89 total. I could try to switch the shipping address to your address, or if that doesn't work, I could ship it to you afterwards (although if that's the case, you'd have to pay for shipping as well).

I'm planning to cancel it on Monday, so please PM me before then. I'll edit this post if anything gets worked out.

Buyers remorse?

Yeah, I ordered it really quickly (Nintendo limited things disappear, if anyone somehow wasn't aware), but thought the game came with it when I did. I considered keeping it anyway, but $260 (including tax) for a handheld is more than I'm willing to pay.

I think I like the red New 3DS better than blue, but I wish it was less of a wine hue.

Have you seen the pictures of the outside? It's a much more vivid red. I think they just wanted a more sedate tone for the inside so it wouldn't be distracting while gaming. That red system is actually really tempting me.

Does it actually cost money to the retailer to stock up on prepaid cards? I think the supplier just gives them away for little to no cost, and then makes money only from actual sales when the cards are activated.

Maybe they'll pay a penalty for throwing some of them away but it's probably an insignificant amount.

stopped at target on my way home and all gift cards have been removed from the racks.

Looks like Kirby is $45, making my Best Buy E3 preorder useless.

Will they cancel the 2 other games in my order or remove the discount on them if I call to cancel Kirby? I'm really, really afraid of them messing something up, but I don't see the point in keeping the preorder as it's now more expensive than the retail price.
You could always just return it assuming you have a store near you.
I'm in the same boat, but I picked different address to ship it to since I assumed it would be coming out much later, so I'll let you know if I decide to call in rather than just cancel my entire order.
(I put Zelda on it, so I kind of want to keep it).

I was thinking of nagging best buy till they drop the Kirby price to $32 or whatever it would be, but I might just return the game and get it down the road. Between the n3DS, MM3D LE and other stuff, buying more stuff in Q1-Q2 than I anticipated.

I haven't even played my copy of Return to Dreamland yet, ffs. Kirby can wait... hopefully it doesn't become hard to find too quickly.

In terms of liquidation, one can be certain that most high-end stuff will likely be sent back to the distributors for refunds in order to save on costs. Things that usually are liquidated are the cheap stuff.

So I went and visited the Target I work right after school, hoping to hear what will happen as well as buy some steam cards to pay my subscription for FFXIV. Unfortunately, they pulled all the pre-paid cards. Even some of my ETLs said they couldn't sell me one even if they wanted to, apparently it is blocked off. Other than that, the ETLs & STLs said it will be just business as usual (for a few months) until the liquidation phase starts. So scheduling, won't be an issue for now. All of my co-workers were disheartened by the news by they were also accepting of the info as well.

Well that was a waste of my time. Went to best buy to preorder my red 3ds xl and was promptly told no you can't even though I had called earlier and was promised I could.

Guess that just made my decision easier on keeping my Majora's Mask 3ds xl.

An expected $5.4B loss would scare me out of the country too.
Well, considering their horrible business plan, it's to be expected. Still sucks for those affected too.

I was so hyped when they announced they were coming, but the first time I went to one I was shocked at how awful it was.

I love the sony I picked up from Wal-Mart. It's even listed as a consumer reports recommended.

http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/sony-48-wifi-1080p-led-hdtv-kdl48w600b/875814

This one and I think the 700 series I've all seen recommended for video gaming. It's mainly the low input delay as well. I'm still using that Playstation 3D Monitor thing, but later this year I'm probably gonna get that one or one of the 700 series. 40-48 inches is ideal for me, even as someone who generally prefers to play on 24-27 inch monitors.

So... The Rosalina dream isn't dead?

I bought this TV for Black Friday. I can only recommend. It's perfect for gaming.

The only problem is that the TV-stand is absolute crap. I'm still have to find a solution about that ...

Yep. Excellent for gaming also. I didn't even know what it had with it because it comes in a plain brown box. Came home, did some research, and find out the refresh rate was awesome, it was recommended by consumer reports, and it happened to be a smart TV as well. Never expected to pick a TV off the shelf of wal-mart that met all my needs. And the price...AWESOME.

Also got mine on Black Friday. Actually the week before Black Friday as my son (who works there) had a 20% off coupon. Then when the price dropped on Black Friday, I went in and had them match the price (and still got the 20% off on top of it). Sweet deal.

My only complaint about the TV stand is that when watching with the lights off, it reflects. Otherwise it's not much of a concern. The little green power light at the bottom is kinda bothersome also.

Looks like Kirby is $45, making my Best Buy E3 preorder useless.

Does anyone have a screengrab or cached copy of the fine print from the last Best Buy E3 preorder? I ask because unless there was a specific minimum (was it 39.99?) they are clearly in contravention of the Canadian Advertising Standards.

I let it slide with Toad's Treasure Tracker because I'm so damned busy, but if they're pulling this shit again with Kirby then I'm filing a complaint. I suggest you do the same.

3. Price Claims

(a) No advertisement shall include deceptive price claims or discounts, unrealistic price comparisons or exaggerated claims as to worth or value. "Regular Price", "Suggested Retail Price", "Manufacturer’s List Price" and "Fair Market Value" are deceptive terms when used by an advertiser to indicate a savings, unless they represent prices at which, in the market place where the advertisement appears, the advertiser actually sold a substantial volume of the advertised product or service within a reasonable period of time (such as six months) immediately before or after making the representation in the advertisement; or offered the product or service for sale in good faith for a substantial period of time (such as six months) immediately before or after making the representation in the advertisement.

Now I'll leave it up to the legal beagles to decide the interpretation of "sold" versus "preordered", but clearly offering a percentage discount off a price the product will never be sold at is deceptive. And no--"price matching" the actual price is hardly the same as offering 30% off the actual price, which was the agreement we all entered in to.

Take a page out of the Quebec consumer's playbook, and stand up for your rights people.

pretty shitty for the people working at Target :(

Haven't spent a penny at their Canadian operation. The one at Metrotown in Burnaby wasn't great at all

Yep! I walked through the one in Metrotown once and it was a total ghost town. It had next to nothing in it ;_;

The fact that the Dundas St one is on a Saturday at that time is worrying. I end up working Saturdays as overtime because things don't go well at some point in the week. If it happens again, then oh well I'll wait for my XL to arrive.

The video game section was actually pretty alright for a while, but then they never restocked anything.

It even has the scent of Zellers

The stench of leftover Zellers. A chill runs down my spine every time I think about it.

The video game section was alright, true. I think I might have been the naive one to expect a decent clothing section like the US stores.. X_X

I wonder if target is going to clear out stock of PS4's and XB1's. My local one has no PS4's in stock and tons of kinect bundles of XB1. A bunch of clothing was slashed to 25% off but no electronics yet.

Also, red new 3DS XL preordered :) now I just gotta convince Nintendo to transfer all my digital purchases to it since I don't have my old 3DS to do the system transfer.

I've never had a problem with getting them to adjust my order properly. I just call customer service, tell them that the $64.99 price was a placeholder they had in place, and I should now get 28.58% deducted from the new price. They have done it without any hassles.

Only thing you'll see is that they will charge you the $46.42 price, then they will credit you back $16 or so.

Can't say I'm surprised the New 3DS Hype Train isn't stopping outside the big 4 provinces, but I can be disappointed... right?

That's just the way things work, but if you want to waste hours of your time and suffer a bunch of stress for like $15 then rfd is that way ---->

But here are the terms anyways:http://plug-in.bestbuy.ca/t5/Video-Gaming/E3-2014-FAQs/td-p/92946
