In for one more Ava-tacular season!

I'm about to go to bed in a few minutes, so I estimate it's gonna start in a few minutes.

I just binge watched the entire fifth season on Amazon Prime. Raylan is definitely one of my all time favorite characters, so I'm a little disappointed that this will be the last season. It's odd that I dont think I've ever seen Olyphant in another role. I guess I should give Deadwood a chance, but hearing it was cancelled makes me not want to get into it. I hate getting into a show and it not being able to finish it's story.

Watch Deadwwod. Proper ending lacking aside, it's possibly the best TV show ever made. And Olyphant's Bullock is like Raylan, if Raylan had no sense of humor and more rage.

Second. My favourite show of all time, the ending is fine, but not satisfying in a way series finales should be because obviously there was more story to tell.

Edit: The main storyline started in season three comes to a close btw.

I shot people I like more for less.

Watch it, it's great. You'll see a lot of familiar faces from Justified besides Olyphant as well.

Slight spoiler about his character on Justified from the article:
to portraying a mysterious stranger who’s buying up plots of land

hehe

all good things
I have to marathon season 5 now that it finally popped up on amazon prime. I watched season 1 - 4 in the fall and fell in love with the show so I'm excited.

While I was waiting for season 5 to come up and went through most of The Shield for the first time without realizing Walton Goggins was in it and now going back to Justified I'm like in awe aboue how much he's grown as an actor from the shield to justified. Great stuff, he's definitely my favorite part of justified.

Oh right, the rise of Dewey as the new king of Harlan is coming. Gotta get me an av.

Boyd biting the bullet seems like a sure bet but I wonder if they will off Raylan too.

If you didn't finish The Shield (not sure if you meant you just went through most of it, or you went through most of it without recognizing Walton Goggins), you should. Walton Goggins has some great scenes in season 7 in particular.

Oh definitely. I got a little into season 6 and then justified season 5 got added so I'm going to go back to it as soon as I finish justified.

the fact that it was cancelled doesn't make the content that's already there any less worth checking out. you can still appreciate the incredible dialogue and cast either way

they also had enough notice ahead of time to write the ending as an ending, unlike other shows that just end on massive cliffhangers

Salt Lake City Weekly with a quick look at S6:

Justified
Tuesday, Jan. 20 (FX)

Season Premiere:
Raylan's (Timothy Olyphant) endgame in the ... sigh ... final season of Justified, home of the best dialogue on TV, is to bring down frenemy Boyd (Walton Goggins) once and for all, using the love of Boyd's life, Ava (Joelle Carter)—obviously, it's going to get messy. Raylan and Boyd's Roadrunner/Coyote dance isn't the only drama afoot in Harlan, Ky., however: Dixie Mafia heads Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen) and Wynn Duffy (Jere Burns) are plotting a multimillion-dollar robbery—to be carried out by Boyd—and there are some new heavies in town stirring up trouble (guest power-players Garret Dillahunt, Jeff Fahey and Sam Elliott—sans 'stache!). But with all of this coming down the pike, the biggest surprise of the Season 6 opener, "Fate's Right Hand," is a sad, touching performance from previously written-off hillbilly Dewey Crowe (Damon Herriman). Sons of Anarchy was tough, but Justified is the FX loss that's really going to sting.

- Variety review:
“Justified” begins its final season with a customary slow build. The new threat doesn’t even really present itself until the third episode. Still, that’s emblematic of the laconic charm that has characterized this Elmore Leonard adaptation throughout its run, with Timothy Olyphant’s modern cowboy becoming one of FX’s unsung heroes. Although the program isn’t as showy or heralded as the network’s other dramas, its sixth-season start reinforces a sense that “Justified” will be sorely missed when it rides into the sunset.

Rewatching the S5 finale now. Boyd's behind the back trick shot followed by him trolling Tim about it is hilarious.

EDIT: "Didn't I tell you that you were gonna wish I'd kill ya. Well, doncha?"
