The Witcher 3 will likely have the best graphics yet (New Screenshots)

The Order looks even better in my opinion but when you take into account that The Witcher 3 is open world, its amazing. Really wished that i could play this on the highest setting possible, but the PS4 version should still be good. Anybody know what the PS4 version is going for? 1080P 30 FPS?

For a game that's 20% larger than Skyrim it looks amazing. Those early screenshots left a lot people, including me, disappointed.
Anyway a witcher game is a lot more than jaw dropping graphics so I'm still very excited.

Eh...POM stands for Parallax Occlusion Mapping.

And ? Parallax mapping and POM are different.

Gears of War had parallax mapping in the floor NINE years ago
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory on PC had parallax mapping in 2005 as well (and HDR).

Correct, and applied in a few object surfaces like rocks and decals. F.E.A.R. released the same year had parallax too in decals and walls.

Pretty sure it was Gears 3 that had parallax mapping and not the first (or second) one.

Only the first one is on pc and I'm sure, it had parallax.

For those comparing this to Unity, remember that Unity is technically a much smaller and denser game since it's set in one big city and two smaller cities. For a game of this size I happen to think that it looks absolutely amazing.
Especially this shot, the npcs look fantastic

Looked really great at the time. FEAR was also ahead of its time and already had "next-gen" features.

Game looks amazing. The NPCs look very high quality considering this is an open world game. Also, Geralt looks great with a beard.

Waiting to see more on combat.

Loving the screens. 970 is ready but my fx8320 might struggle in those villages with so many people around. Can't wait for the game regardless. I need it asap!

20%? For what i've heard in the last Gamestar (a german magazin - link for reference) video the world of W3 is tiled in serveral areas. On of them is a area that includes the "capital" Novigrad and this area alone is bigger (devs said its 8.5 x 8.5 km - 72 square km) than Skyrim (41 square km).

Not sure if these are the best, but man this looks fucking fantastic, no matter if it has been downgraded or not.

Looks pretty damn amazing.
Witcher 2 looks even today great graphically so I know I wont have any complaints about the visuals of TW3.

I really hope we see something more of the undewater world/swimming/sailing exploring etc soon.

As much as a loved DA:I recently, drowning when walking through waist high water was a bit lame.

And why are the shadows seemingly so week, reduced, or non-distinct in the new shots? I'm not the only one here who said it looks flatter. It's one of the most common complaints in this thread.

Different time of day. New shot appears to have far more sun. Old shot is going for a rainy mood.

I'm very excited for this game. It's very pretty. No its not the best but there is only 1 best at any given time.

This isn't impressing me. These graphics are great and all but definitely not worthy of being labeled as the best open world game.

The most impressive game tech wise so far is Final Fantasy XV in term of open world design, but it has yet to release so we have to wait for the demo to find out if it manages to retain the same level of quality.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.

By "good" he means "favourably comparable". Obviously there's no empirical data to go on at this stage, but given the open world nature of the game it's quite likely that the PS4 will have the edge versus a PC equipped with a 2GB 670.

Art wise its probably the best thing coming out in 2015.

LOD seems kinda poor though. Rockstar has everyone beat there so far by lightyears.

Agreed, but FFXV is definitely not coming out this year.

It's not a movie, it's a game. No option = Excuse. And that's exactly why TEWI has that option in the PC version.
This game is a console exclusive with limited resources and games take tons of cues and imitate many factors of film so you gain no ground with that dismissive "it's a game"write-off, especially on a game that's stated its film inspirations since the beginning. Options are on PC and The Order isn't so reconcile that while I go enjoy my favorite aspect ratio.
